Hi experts,
In smartforms i need to change a text element, after i edit a text while i click save button automaticaly no of #'s diplayed in end of text element. same problem occurs in all windows, kindly give solution for this issue, i will give max rewards.

Check the Paragraph Formats you are giving in the smartform...Are there any tabs set for the paragraph formats? I think it is because of that..
change the existing paragraph format and then check it...

The main window of third page will not display the text element

Hey, smartform guru,
I am working on the smartform to print PO data.
The smartform has first page and next page as usual.
I created a third page P_TERMS to print the terms and conditions for PO printout.
I used commend node to assign the page P_TERMS as the "Go to new page" and it did go to the P_TERMS page but the text element will not print in the main window in P_TERMS page.
The text element will print in the secondary window.Since the terams and conditions are 4 pages long, I expected it to print in the main window, so I do not have to define several extra pages to print them.
Any idea?

Hi Fisher,
Unfortunately, In a smartform, only single main window is continued to all pages even though you can declare windows under each page as main window, but it actually acts as the same window for all pages. It just means that if text from 1st page is overflowed, it will continue to the next page with main window.
Command line to go to next page will create an extra page but since text is not flowed in main window, it won't print the text element you have included in main window on third page.
The solution to your problem as I see is that either you include your terms and conditions in the main window of your first page and just before your text element for T&Cs, use Command to go to third page.

Smartform problem with text element

Hi,
In smartforms text element, we have this variable; &V_TEXT2(L)&.
My question is, what does the 'L' means there? what is it's purpose?
when we pass on numeric values into it, it's converted to something else. It does not show the correct output.
example:
v_text2 = 6245183
shown on the report is HEIS57YR18MO3 DY.

Smartforms - Change a text elements character Format

Hello,
I need to modify a Smartform by increasing the font size on some text elements. When I highlight the text element to change and then click the dropdown for Character Format I can click the format I would like but it never changes.
I've also tried resetting the character formats but it always gets back to it orginal size/settings.
How can I change the character format in a text element?

It appears I have to delete the field then change the character format to the font I want and finally drop the field back into place on the screen.
If there is another way to do it, I never found it.
Switching to the classic editor may work as well. Worth trying.

SmartForms - Problems with Text Element

Hello guys!
I was adjusting a SF for the BID_INVITATION scenario (SRM) when i stopped in front of a problem.
I included the word "Data" in a Text Element that there was already, but, my new word doesn't appear in the Form.
Anyone know what is happening?
Is there any thing especific in the Text Element to permit that my new word appear?

Smartform splitting footer text elements

Hi,
I am using text elements for printing gross / net totals in the Main window -> Table -> Footer. Now problem I am facing is all the set of elements are breaking from page to page. I want it print in one page with out any page break. How should I do that. Please suggest.

Depending on what system you are in, you may be able to check the Page Protection checkbox in the Table node's Output Options tab. (I'm in 4.6C and this option is not available, but it may be available in your system).
Or you can try checking the No Page Break checkbox in your Line Type definition.

How to display standard text element of main window in next page

hi all
In scripts we have standard script medruck for purchase order.
i want to pull text elements ( terms and payment terms ) in to main window of next page.
i have included main window in page windows of next page ,but im unable to print text elements of terms and payment terms in next page...
any one give your valuable inputs.

Hi deepika,
First copy standard MEDRUCK to ZMEDRUCK and do the necessary changes.
Then check in driver program when exactly Terma and condition text element is called. Generaly its after printing all items but just check once to confirm.
If TERMS and condition element is called ate end just put a NEW-PAGE command at end of the text element which is called before terms.

Display Text Elements in BI 7.0

Hi,
We are now working on BI 7.0. We need to display the text elements for a specific query i.e the values entered by the user in the variables have to be displayed.
I am aware of the Design mode option after executing the query. I did select the Text web item and selected the necessary display items also. My question is do I have to save this web item customization as a workbook or will it reflect when I run the query the next time.

Text element not gettin refreshed in smart form

Hi
Text element does not get refreshed in the smart form preview.
I have a selection screen on which i have a few selection parameters and three application
toolbar buttons. "Save" , "Preview" and "Print". At the end of selection screen I have a
button "text" which when clicked takes me to the text element editor(FM 'TEXT_EDIT' )
I have to enter a project number on the selection screen, enter all other details and
then click on the "Text" button. I would then change /edit some text etc and come back
to sel screen. Now i click on preview , the smart form shows up and the text gets dispalyed
with the modified text.
I am passing the text name by appending "sometext" + project number to the TEXT_EDIT
and while eiditing and as a parameter to the smart form. In the smart form i have given the variable in the "include text".
Now Herez the problem.
I am still in selection screen and clik on the "text" button and it takes me to the
text editor. Now i add more lines, save and come back. Now i clik on preview
button and it displays the old text data.
When i come out of the transaction and renter , clik on the preview it displays data
correctly. Now if i repeat the steps
1.edit text button , add a few lines
2.preview button, shows data as entered in step 1.
3.edit text button, add few more lines
4.preview button .. the text displays is from step 1 and not 3.
I am not sure if this is lot of info for anybody to write an answer straight away but
if u need more info i can provide. I can do a read_text in the smart form but its toooooo
much of a pain for the data i need to display. million adjustments to be taken care of.
What could be the problem ? I have given all the basic settings like save parameter
in edit_text fm , checked all the print preview options in sdn.
Here are my questions
1. Why is the text element not getting refreshed.
2. After a form is displayed for preview , will it store anywhere in the buffer ? if yes
is there any method to clear it ?

The problem is not with text elements, it might be your size of window which you are using to display the text elements. Check your window size and modify that accordingly.

Double text-elements in Bex-Query

Hallo,
i display all text-elements in a Bex-Query. The variables are shown double, sometimes both values of a shown variable are keys, sometimes one is a key and one is text. Does anyone knows the reason and how to change it?
I've read SAP note no. 541024 and execute the report RENAME_DUPLICATE_ELEMENTS but the names of my variables weren't in the list and so I think it has nothing to do with this note.

Hi,
If you display all textelements, there are always going to be double ones. Thats because of there are is an element for the variable and another element for the filter value for the InfoObject on which the variable is based on.
However I don't know exactly when it displays text or key!

Text elements in drop down box

I am working on text elements in drop down box for service request application. I have a requirement that the display of text elements in PCUI should be in such a way that
depends on the role of the user. eg: for role 'X' some text elements should be displayed and role 'Y' remaining text elements should be displayed. In SAP GUI all text elements should be displayed. I copied MAC of text data to ZCL_CRM_BSP_AM_SLS_TM and tried to add the logic in methods IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL~GET_ALLOWED_DDLB_VALUES
IF_CRM_BSP_MODEL_ACCESS_IL~FILL_DROPDOWN_LISTBOX
when i put external break point none of this methods are touched. Instead it goes to the methods of the class CL_CRM_BSP_TEXTMANAGEMENT_SC. This method is buried deep inside. Should i copy all the standard classes above this class and do the modification? Is there any other way? Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi Charan,
You have mentioned that in GUI all text elements have to be displayed. Why is it so?
If that's not the case then you can control it in PFCG authorizations. Object CRM_TXT_ID.
If you provide authorizations for a specific role for specific text ids only, the same would reflect in PCUI also. Others may not appear in the dropdown.

I have been pulling my hair out for a few days trying to find
this solution. This fixed my problems as well.
I was getting ready to scrap the Report Builder altogether
and move to SQL Server Reporting Services over this issue.
I'm running 7.0.2 also, that version alone fixed many small
issues like creating borders and such.

Hi Senthil,
Inside text element, we print the variables.
Variables actually gets printed in the form.
if the variable contains value the variable gets printed on script. if not, then variable not gets printed.

when I display the text elements, there are some which I don't know the meaning of:
Example in my query:
Key date: 19.04.2007
Changed at: 19.04.2007
Status of data: 27.02.2007
Can you tell me what the difference of those three is?

Key date: The key date is the date for which time-dependent master data is selected. You determine the key date either in the query definition (query properties) or supply the value using a variable. If the key date has not been defined, then the system date is automatically made into the key date.
Changed on: This time tells you when the query definition was last changed.
Status of data: This is the point in time when data for the latest request that can be used for reporting was posted to the InfoProvider.

In smartform,if I want to according to the different conditions,display one of the serveral different standard Text objects which all maintained in SO10 in a same text element,how to do it?
if i put them in serval text elements, each condition only display the corresponding text element,but the text content can not display in the same position.
