Hi Experts,
I am learning adobe form, and I am familiar with smartform, but when I read the document about adobe form, I can make comparison between adobe form and smartform, so could anyone please tell me the differences and same places of adobe form and smartform? such as what is master page, body pages, content area? and how to create an address in the layout like smartform? thanks in advance.

In addition, sample forms are helpful.
You can find some forms in your SAP system.
Execute transaction SFP, and use F4 help.
If you install LiveCycle Designer, sample forms by Adobe are also installed.

Some questions on Adobe Form

Hi,
I would like to find out if the following requirements are possible:
1) Mass generation of Adobe Form based on a list of personnel number (in SAP HR system). Which means that if I have 20 personnel in my list, then the system will generate 20 Adobe Forms for me with some personal data information populated in the form
2) When I upload the Adobe Form, after the value is populated back into SAP, the Form will be moved into the Attachment List for that personnel.
Appreciate if anyone can share your knowledge on the above mentioned requirements. Thank you.

That is possible of course. You should use the PDFObject API for that requirements.
1. define a xml schema with all data given by SAP system.
2. create a form template which uses this schema as data connection
3. implement a java application (i.e. J2EE application) which:
- gets the data from SAP system and generates some pdf files (using PDFObject API)
- reads pdf files back to xml and submits the data to a BAPI

How to specify textfields in Adobe forms.

Hi experts,
Can any one of you help me how to define text fields in Adobe forms
For example: I have the name of the employee in a variable v_empname
and now i need to display it on the form
so if i write it instead of displaying the value (ie: employee name) it is being displayed as it is (ie: ).
If any one of u have worked on this. please tell me the procedure to add the text fields in adobe form

Some Questions on Adobe PDF Forms

Hi,
I have some questions on Adobe Forms development (especially Adobe Forms in ABAP)
1)     In a form interface, in the Code Initialization can we use Object Oriented Syntaxes such as class method calls, etc?
2)     Can we declare Global Data variables with reference to Class References / Interfaces
3)     Can we use the latest ECC 6.0 enhancement framework to add code in the standard form interface to enhance / enrich some logic within the form? This is to avoid copying the form interface into a Z in order to enrich the form via coding?
Please let me know if this is possible at all and how

You may not get the complete standard form which will match this functionality. But you can develop your business logic in custom code for fetching the data and the interface and use the standard templates for layouts if any template matches your requirement. You can see the complete lest of templates in : "transaction SFP->Form->Layout->Tools->Template Manager
Most of the common templates are available here.

WD ABAP iview for Adobe Forms showing data of previous PERNR

Hi Experts,
We have developed adobe forms using HCM P&F functionality. We copied standard delivered WD ABAP Iview "Termination" multiple times for the use in developed forms. The Portal IDs are attached to the employee's IT 0105-Subtype 0001 Syname.
We added the parameters in iview:
Application Parameter: GET_PERNR=X&PERNR_MEM_ID=ESS01&Process=ZXXX_XXX_FORM
Problem:
The Portal id is assigned to PERNR in IT 0105 - Subtype 0001 correctly and when we execute the Form Service link is clicked on Portal it shows the correct default data in Adobe form.
But if we remove the Portal id from 1 PERNR and assigned to another PERNR then Adobe Form still shows the data from previous PERNR.
We are unable to figure out the problem as the new Portal id is attached correctly and other WD Java iviews are showing correct data for existing PERNR but only Adobe forms are showing data from old PERNR assignment.
Please advise.

Hi Siddharth,
We have already done a number of action to clear the cache such as:
- Set the 2 properties of the iview
a. Cache Level ---> None
b. Cache Validity Period --->-1
- Cleared Portal Run Time Cache
- Clear DB cache
- UME cache (In case you are changing users frequently )- System Administration -> System Configuration -> UME Configuration -> Support -> Invalidate cluster wide cache
- Clear the browser cache --> Most imp - Browser settings -> tools -> Internet Optionsu2026 -> Temporary Internet Files -> Delete Files.
The actions are already done but the problem is still there.
I read some blog on SAP INDX tabel which records the Portal IDs when user logged in and Iview Properties "PERNR_MEM_ID=ESS01" reads this table . I am not sure that if this is the problem.

Adobe Form - Heading is Misssing

Hi Expert,
I created an ADOBE Form using WebDynpro.
I use the OTR to read the text for headings, used in table for Adobe form.
The problem is that for some PERNR ( HR Relted) the heading is coming but for some it is not coming.
Can u plz help.

Dynamic screen changes in adobe form

Hi Experts,
I have an adobe form with a form type radio button. Based on the form type selected (radio button), some of the fields on the adobe form should become editable and some uneditable.
How is it achievable? Please advise.

This can be achieved using Scripting.
To make a field non editable
write ->
$.access = "readOnly"
You may please refer the adobe lifecycle designer help and also there are few blogs in SDN regarding - SAcripting in Adobe forms.

Cannot save a completed copy of adobe forms

Hi experts,
i was developing a simple Adobe form with a drop down list. When saving that form on local system ad then opening it , I tried changing the valve in drop down list it gives me a pop-up as
"You cannot save the completed copy of this form on your computer."
is there any setting to be donw to the form.

I guess you have already found the problem: you cannot save the file if your reader rights are down == your form has not been generated as interactive and no licence has been attached. Otto

How to modify automatically the show length of table in adobe form

hi,experts.
i often need adobe form to output imformations in table forms..sometimes i don't know the length of each column previous. so i want to make that the adobe form can adjust the output length of table column automatically depending on the content..
i am new about JavaScript of adobe forms. hope someone can give me suggestions

Hi,
You may select the particular column and then in the Layout Pallette, select the radio button for "Expand to Fit" which would be under Height. That way your cells would automatically adjust for size(Would grow in height). But the size wont grow in Width, that remains fixed as you would have fixed during design time.

I have one adobe form, which is giving output correctly.
input : 10 employees.
output in pdf : pdf is coming in output.if i want to save the file, each employee data is storing in a separate file.
my requirement : i need to save all the employees data into one pdf file.

you mighit be calling the function module FP_JOB_OPEN and FP_JOB_CLOSE in the loop as follows.
loop at employee.
FP_JOB_OPEN
FP_JOB_CLOSE.
endloop.
Instead of this write as follows.
FP_JOB_OPEN
loop at employee.
endloop.
FP_JOB_CLOSE.

    CATCH cx_send_req_bcs INTO lr_send_req_bcs.
ENDTRY.
COMMIT WORK.
but after execute I get Error(Dump):
*Calling a COMMIT WORK in an update process is not allowed*
*because the function modules triggered in a Logical Unit*
*of Work cannot then be processed correctly.*
I tried to use UpdateFunction(call function in update task), but in this case I get Empty PDF File .
How can I solve this problem?

You want to commit to send the email. But the commit is not allowed in the update task. That is not Adobe-related problem in my opinion. Maybe you should ask the question in ABAP general? And about that "blank" pdf... is that a problem with PDF printing? That means GETPDF = 'X' not working? Or what is your adobe related problem?

Validations in Adobe Form

hello all,
i am writing some validations in adobe form .I am not very comfortable with adobe forms but i have to work on.
validation 1: field 'NAME' ( type is free text )should support 'several entries'.
validation 2: field 'NAME' ( type is lookup) and validation is ' LOOKUP vs SAP XX TRADER (another field).
validation 3: field 'PHONE' (type is numeric) and validation is 'DEFAULT BASED ON VALUE IN TRADER LOOKUP'

100% CPU utilization issue by Adobe Form

Hi
I am creating a new Adobe Interactive Form in my web dynpro java application.
When I am trying to run that application on server which is having only 2-3 UI elements in interactive form it's using 100% CPU and adobe form is not getting render.
Some of the adobe forms are already working properly on the server.
Does anybody faced such issue or somebody knows what may cause this issue so please help me out on that.

Clear CPU Temp folders START->RUN-><Type TEMP> you will get processed Forms that are locally stored in your system Temp folder select all and delete.
and also START->RUN-><Type %TEMP%> and delete the corresponding files in that folder.
