  • HT2518 how do I move PC files from a carbonite account to a mac?

I just wiped and sold my PC. All my data is backed up on a Carbonite account. I just bought a Mac and would like to transfer ~85G from the Carbonite account to my new machine. This is basically all my photos, music, and documents. Carbonite does not have an option of transfering between platforms. Obviously, I should have held onto my old PC to transfer the files to the new Mac, but I didn't realize this would be an issue. Any suggestions?
    thanks,
    -Jo

If Carbonite can't help you, how do you expect us to be of any help?

  • How do I move photo's from an IPhoto album to a flash drive stick?

I Need to know how to move photo's from a IPhoto album to a flash drive stick. Also how do I make sure the stick is formatted and blank

ALbums in iPhoto have manul sorting. When you export from iPhoto you send the files to the Finder and that doesn't. It can sort in many ways, but perhaps the most usual is by name. So, rename the photos and then export them using the title as filename or the album name and number or even Sequential.
When you go File -> Export note the option at the bottom of the Export dialogue:

  • ?how do i move Photo's from my i4 to icloud?

Hello,  How do i move photo's from my i4 to icloud i have 791 on the phone and need to free uo space for version 7 update?  Thanks

You can't store photos in icloud, except as part of an ios backup.  You must sync photos to a computer for archiving, then you can delete the photos from the device.
This should help...  sync photos to a device...

  • HT1451 I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop. What's the best way to do this?

I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop (Windows 8). What's the best way to do this?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

How do you move photo's from iphoto to keynote or powerpoint? How do you insert them into slides?

    iPhoto '08, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
Your signature suggests you are asking about iPhoto on a mac:
To use the Media Browser in "Pages" as Douglas McLaughlin suggest:
Click "Media" in the toolbar, select the "Photos" tab in the "Media" browser panel, select "iPhoto"; for example:

  • Move photo's from apple mac book onto I phone

I cannot find a way to move photo's from my macbook onto my i phone

Use iTunes, connect and select iPhone in iTunes under DEVICES, select Photos tab (top right).
Select Sync Photos from iPhoto, Selected albums, Events .... and select what you want on iPhone and click Sync button (bottom right).

Can I move/copy songs from one itunes account to another itunes account on the same iMac?

You move the song files to /Users/Shared/ and then into iTunes from the other Mac OS X user account.
If you want to change the iTunes Store account associated with them, you need to redownload them from that account.

If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help.  Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.
