My eyes just glazed over...Please in the future break down each of your issues with paragraphs separated by two carriage returns. It would be much easier when trying to address your issues.
Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

Yes and No. You cannot run Windows software on a Mac with OS X. But you can run Windows on a Mac and use your Windows software by booting the Mac into Windows directly or use virtualization software to run Windows:
Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software. Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7. Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows. Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.

3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7. VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.

5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris. It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
6. Last is Q. Q is a freeware emulator that is compatible with Intel Macs. It is much slower than the virtualization software, Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc. There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization. The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive. -

ThanksThe Apple genius at the Apple store told me this would work. It failed. Basically, updating your iPhone 3GS to iOS5 wipes your 3GS of its data so you can't really do this. Some data worked. Music, photos etc didn't work at all.
I suggest avoiding iCloud completely for a few weeks until Apple gets it working. -

I am considering purchasing an ipad 2 (can't really see the need to get the biggest and baddest...lol). I presently have a Nook Tablet with about 220 books downloaded to it. Will I be able to transfer these books to the ipad or am I basically starting over? With the ipad, are the books in the library free or will I be buying books all over again? Simply download and install the free NOOK app onto your iPad. When you open the app, you just hit the "sync" symbol (after signing into you B&N account, I think....I can't remember and I just did it yesterday ) and all of your purchased Barnes and Noble books will be show up in the app with a "download" bar across the book cover. Tap to download. I just did this yesterday when my new iPad arrived and it was a piece of cake. The display when I opened a book was amazing.............and I own the N1E, the NST, and the NC! -
I have a older Nano, I think I got it in 2004 or 2005 and I have a sad iPod icon, and it seems like my battery won't charge, the low battery icon appears but never seems to do anything. If I buy a new iPod will I be able to transfer my songs and playlists to the new one easily? Thanks.
If you are using automatic syncing to load the iPod, all songs on the iPod are in your iTunes music library. So, you won't need to transfer anything from the old nano. Just sync the new iPod from your iTunes library the same way.
If you use the Manually manage music setting, AND there are songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes music library, you will need to off-load songs to your computer first. You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer" you should get some links.

Thanks for the help. Now I can feel comfortable in not having to sign up for cellular when I buy, esp. Since I'll be using my new IPad mostly at home on my Cox wi fi. Then I can see, in using the i pad, how often I'd actually use the cellular, and where. This can help decide which type of cell plan I get. Small problem it may seem, but a very helpful answer. Yes. You are allowed to install PSE on two computers at once, but if you don't need it on the first computer anymore, go to editor>help>sign out to deactivate it and free up one of your activations for future use.

No, just install the creative cloud application on the new machine and log on using your adobe account and you should be able to install direct from there without uninstalling from your previous machine. You can have it installed on multiple machines, you just can't simultaneously use it on more than one machine, which is why it makes you log on to the creative cloud.

- Yes. If you also want to retain app data, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore from that backup. The restore will also update the iOS.

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

I am trying to copy photos from an iPad to a Mac Air, but iPhoto does not recognize them. Please forgive the ignorance, but we have just started moving to apple products and I know nothing about them. Do you have to use PhotoStream to do this?
How did the photos that you want to copy off get on the iPad ? To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you should be able to use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
