I updated the software without problems; then I tried to update iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband, but an error was displayed "You have updates available for other accounts". I don't have any other account, i tried everything found on the net but nothing seems to work...Please help me!!!!
Same thing for me it writes "To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."

Heat and sleep problem with my new Macbook Pro
Basically I noticed with my new MBP the computer can become very hot and the fan gets very loud after about ~2 hours of working in Maya.. which I guess might be reasonable.
However, my main concern is, even when I close the lid of the MBP, the heat seems to stay (I just closed it for about 30 minutes, and it's still as hot as it was before I closed it).
I'm working on High Performance.. maybe my macbook isn't sleeping when I close it?
I have noticed (I THINK) that the white apple on the outside glows sometimes randomly even when I have the lid closed, but I'm not completely sure.
Anyone else have this problem?Hi yes I've had/got the same problem. Received my new MacBook Pro only last week and this has happened twice. The machine gets so hot I can't even touch the battery area!!!! It only seems to happen with the power connected and when the lid is closed. Fortunately the Mac was on my wooden desk or it might have melted plastic!
The Mac cooled down after unplugging from power supply, but wow it was hot....and noisy!
The only way to get the Mac back was to either press the power/off until it shut down, or take the battery out - after it cooled down.
Reported the problem to Mac Support immediately, but no response.
THIS IS DANGEROUS!!! Be careful, I don't know what would happen if it was left overnight for example - could easily cause a FIRE!!!!! -
Problems with brand new macbook pro
I have recently recieved my macbook pro 15 inch, intel core 750gb hard drive laptop. And i am experiencing some annoying problems. Firstly I plug in the charger and it will say not charing (although it will be the power source) and it takes a few goes to get it to charge, secondly, i have some logitech Z506 speakers and while listening to itunes, it seems t fluxuate in volume, and drops in and out, but when watching movies or shows its fine. Also my screen seems to be a lot darker then the old mac book pro. Is this just my eyes or is there a difference now. The last problem i have is when i have my macbook pro to full (through my speakers) and my speakers down, it sounds tinny and distorted with crackle, so then i have to turn my laptop down and my speakers up.

Make sure that the charger connection is free of dust and debris which can cause the charger from connecting properly. I would also suggest doing an SMC reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964 Read through the instructions carefully before attempting the SMC reset.

Used migration assistant to set up new Macbook pro from old macbook pro. Many "profile" problems.
Will not even open "System Preferences" for user whose profile info was transferred. (Will for "Administrator")
Cannot use Firefox or Thunderbird, profile missing.
Help???Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search, and look under "User Diagnostic Reports" for crash logs related to the application(s). Select the most recent one and post the contents -- the text, please, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report.

Problems with my new MacBook Pro.
Some time ago my Macbook has some problem with the display, common when I used Safari for long time... it's like the image is pixeleated. I bring the computer with a authorized dealer because I'm from Colombia. But the technical service said that they can repair it, that the problem is the graphic card. They said that they can't change the machine but I think that is better change it, the macbook only have 2 and a half month with me so... What can I do?
P.D: Forgive me for the spelling, I'm not very good in it .Call AppleCare or arrange with the local Apple retailer to have the motherboard replaced. You cannot replace the GPU alone. If the computer is in warranty then you may get a replacement or at least the repair will be covered.

Projection problems with my new MacBook Pro
My MacBook Pro (13 inches retina display flash memory drive) connects to Sharp Notevision projector but the image projected is a ghastly imitattion of my laptop wallpaper. I suspect it has something to do with retinal display and/or the new operating system. Any suggestions?

Hello! I have a problem with a credit card. I bought one program, after that i wanted buy one more, but it wrote that with my card something wrong. After that i wanted change my card (VISA) on "NONE". But there no NONE! I can't download FREE apps! Than I wanted make new account and select NONE, but there no NONE, there only cards. Help, please!

I have a problem with Safari in IOS 8 on my iPad 3. The bookmarks take up a third of the screen and I can't seem to make the bookmarks disappear until I need them. The useful part of the screen is therefore very small. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated.
OK, it now sort of works. A couple of problems here:
After updating IOS, Safari iCloud was "automatically" switched off
Switching it on had no effect
resetting my iPad automatically switched off safari iCloud again
after switching it back on, it said "turning off safari data"
switched it off and on again, now it said : "turning on safari data" and the sync worked
On IOS 7 no problems
The bookmarks not being displayed was because after pressing the book icon, it defaulted to showing the history and I had to press "Back" to get to the other options -
I bought a second hand G4 iBook with iLife 09 on it. I have copied iLife to my new Macbook Pro. The applications would not open, so I did a software update and update all three applications, but they will still not open. Can anyone help?
The seller should have given you the original disk so that you can reinstall as needed. But it likely was a single-user license (which really means single computer) so you can only have a copy on one computer at a time. If the seller didn't give you the disk he is probably still using the software on his new Mac. Your best option to get any of the iWork apps to use in OS X 10.6.6 or later is through the Mac App Store. You can then install them on any Mac you have that has access to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID.

I have a problem with my iPhone 4s. An Apple rep looked at the phone tonight and determined I will need a new phone. I am now trying to back up my data to iTunes but I cannot get the phone to turn on. I have it plugged into my computer monitor but it just slowly flashes the Apple symbol. Any ideas on how I can get it to power up for the backup?
Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

I HATE my new MACBOOK PRO, it will not let me open any PDF files and I downloaded the ADOBE READER three freaking times and it keeps saying that all the files are corrupt or damaged. I would rather have my 2008 Dell at this point. what is wrong with this thing
Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder. -
I am planning to replace my 3+ year old MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Pro, Retina display... I have been told by "chat" on the Apple site that I can transfer my data wirelessly... on my network.. Is is a good option? I don't want to invest in cables if I can help it... since the old machine has firewire and the new one has thunderbolt! Will the wireless transfer take forever... as in 30-50 hours??? I've been hearing these horror stories...
