Hi guys. Water damaged Iphone 3GS, works great, can charge on the wall plug and the usb cable on the PC, but neither the computer nor Itunes can detect it. Also I can pass and receive phone calls, but I can't hear anything. What are my options?

I did try DFU, restarts, try other computers, etc. But nothing. Should i buy a new battery?
P.S: I'm sorry for my english ^^

Obvously your phone does not "work great" . It is damaged. Your option is to buy a new phone or get an out of warranty exchange at an Apple store.

You're talking about the logic board. The two most likely things to get toasted, with water damage, are the battery(it shorts out), & the logic board. The worst water damage would be salt water. I'm afraid your logic board is toast.

Most of the current Apple Intel based computers are comparable in CPU speed. I don't think it is so much the model of laptop as it is the memory, and storage capacity of the machine. If you are going to use FCP on a regular basis, perhaps as a professional or semi-professional, then you should think about the maximum memory and a very large capacity internal disk drive. For instance, one hour of finished compressed video will take up about 1.5 to 2Gbytes of disk space. If you add up the raw footage and still imagery and audio, you'll use up your disk drive capacity real quick. So a hard disk on the order of 750Gbytes @ 7200rpms might be good for video editing. 5400RPMs might be slow to rendering times. Rendering a video might take up a lot of memory so more memory is better e.g. 8Gbytes.
As a rule of thumb, once you get to about 80% of your disk drive or memory you'll see degradation of performance.
You can check out macsales.com. THey have a menu system that will allow you to pick and choose from various alternatives. BTW, it's been said that although Macs are typically spec'd at a certain memory size, macsales.com found that Apple computers will actually support higher memory levels. That is, if 4Gbytes are spec'd, some machines support 6Gbytes. macsales.com will provide the guidance for you.
You might also consider buying an external disk e.g. 500Gbytes to carry around with you for back-up or transport to another machine.

You post says that you have WIndows 2000. The iPod is notcompatible with Widowns 2000. Yu need at least XP with SP 3

You could use a third party app on your computer, that uses the iPhone as just an external disk.
There are several like iExplorer, Diskaid, Phonedisk, etc.

Had you not tried to repair it, you would have been eligibile for an out of warranty replacement for 199.00 USD or the equivalent in your country.

Water damaged iphone 3gs

Last week I had my iphone with me while I was on a canoe trip. An hour into the trip, one of my friends flipped over the canoe and then my iphone got soaked. I followed everybody's advice and put it in a baggie of rice for a couple of days. Afterwards, I took it out and I opened it so that I can see if there was more damage. I saw some tarnish so I used a needle to scrape it off. ever since then the screen doesn't work but I can still call people thanks to the voice control but the LCD doesn't turn on. What's weird is that when the phone is completely dead, the screen will light up when I charge it. Any advice?

I had my iPhone in my pocket when I slipped and feel in a small waterfall. I was told about the rice, which I used about 2 hours later. First took out the sim card and dried it. Left it in the rice about 4 hours. The screen then lit up but no response. Then I plugged it in to dry up the humidity I saw on the screen. Another 4 hours. Then using the car air conditioner, I let the cool air continue to dry it. Stayed the same. Left it alone for a week while on vacation, then turned it on. To my surprise, turn on and everything worked as seamless as before it got wet. So I believe a combination of these things worked.

Just purchased a new iphone 5. When i connect to my laptop or desktop, the only prompt that appears is to "slect the program to launch for this action" and it gives me the options of......microsoft office word, photoshop, microsoft office document imaging, windows live photo gallery.... and a few others. But nothing even closely resembling an actual iphone. As a result, when I click on itunes, my iphone does not appear at the devices tab or anywhere else. Any advice? Do I have to download three or four hundred software packages (probably have to pay for them all) to make this thing work?

Sounds like youre using a windows computer, are you running the latest version of iTunes? if not, download the latest (which is free) and that might fix the issue.

I'm having this issue as well. I updgrade my CPU to one with Windows 8. At soon as I connect my iPod Classic, it connect momentarily & then immediately eject it.

I just returned from traveling; during my trip, the phone started searching for a network, which it has never done repeatedly, like it is now. Since yesterday I have not been able to receive or make calls! Very frustrating, esp. since I was traveling into a volatile weather situation. Trying to update firmware on my canon printer MG5320 but in doesn't recognize the printer being plugged in via USB cable

I am trying to update firmware on my canon printer MG5320 to be able to use the airprint feature but in doesn't recognize the printer being plugged in via USB cable. I have tried restarting the macbook, turning on and off the printer, repairing permissions, deleting and redownloading the update what else can I do? The prinyrt works fine otherwise...

If there are no drivers for Yosemite you might be in trouble.. HP will tend not to support printers once they are EOL.
Getting it running over wireless rather than USB might be worthwhile.

The same thing is happening with my wife's iPhone 4 and we can't figure it out. When placing a call, the screen freezes and she needs to restart the entire phone.
She upgraded to 5.01 this morning over the air while it was plugged in. Immediately afterwards, this problem started happening. We've tried restarting the phone several times and plugged in to iTunes but there's nothing she can do do to fix it.
