Format the external drive as FAT32 or ExFAT. Both computers will then be able to read and write to it.

Can I lock in a zoom level (e.g. Page View) so it won't change?

I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent Adobe Reader from changing my zoom level. I prefer to read with the zoom level set to Fit Page. Every time I click on a bookmark to jump to another page in the document, the zoom level changes to Fit Width (I think). This is extremely annoying because I have to keep changing the view back to Fit Page. In preferences I have put the default zoom to Fit Page, but that only determines how it comes up initially. When I click on a bookmark it changes again.
I don't understand why the zoom changes when you click a bookmark at all. Why would I want the zoom to change on me?
FYI, I'm using Reader XI (11.0.08).

Thanks CtDave. I don't have anything besides the free reader, so I did some further research on the web and found a solution that is pretty "brute force", but is an option for others that only have the free reader. Here is a link to the full description:

Here is the basics: You can use a text editor and edit the PDF file. Once in the text editor you can search for /FitH or /Fit (there surely are other codes, but those are the only ones I know of). These are codes that tell Acrobat what kind of zoom level to apply to the destination of a jump. So the bookmarks should all have these. Simply do a search and replace with /XYZ. The /XYZ code tells Acrobat to leave the zoom level as it already is.
It might sound a bit weird, but I tried it on multiple files I was having trouble with and it worked great. Of course, my suggestion would be to make backup copy of the file before doing this in case something goes wrong.

How can i keep one email box separate from all the others....?

I have 4-5 personal email accounts. Mail gets them all, and it works as i want it - with ALL my inboxes and sent mail aggregated.
However, i now want to add my business exchange account. I want this totally separate - not mixed in with personal.
Ideally i'd like to run two instances of mail - is that possible?
If not, i'd like a completely separate set of mailboxes (in, sent, drafts, etc) for exchange mail.
Can thsi be done? How?

What is the problem with the suggestion I gave you?
IO rally want to figure out a way to trick the system into letting me run two instances, or keeping the two accounts independent.
Even if you could trick the system into running two copies of Mail, what do you think that would accomplish? They would both try to access the same Mail settings and data files. If the workarounds posted here aren't sufficient, you will just have to use a different mail client.
'Tis a shame there is no true outlook for MacOS.....yet.

Why can i not obtain the same zoom levels in googlemaps as i do on chrome

I use both Firefox and google chrome browsers for varying reasons..when i use googlemaps in Firefox it will only let me zoom in to a level of 18 before i get a default message about not being able to zoom in to a deeper level
However.....on the very same search in google chrome it will let me zoom in to a lot closer...level 21 as opposed to 18 in firefox..
Does anybody please have the answer and remedy to this please ??

You may have zoomed the page(s) by accident.
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
*View > Zoom > Reset (Ctrl/Command+0 (zero))

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

How can i keep a local backup copy of all our employees company email files in a single location. I believe this is called Journaling?

We are legally required to store all communications between any employees' and their clients for a period of 7 years. When we used Outlook 2010 this was not a problem with the PST file format. However our recent change to Exchange
server now leaves me with OST files which can only be opened by the original account. Normally, this wold not present a problem but i can foresee possibilities where it might.
Seven years is a long time and the original account in question could long since have been removed. With PST files, it ewas a simple matter to open them using the mail-admin account long enough to export any documents that were required
but from what I have read this may not be possible with OST files.
Additionally, Exchange server OST files can reach sizes up to 50 GB and the conversion from OST to PST seems to add about 10% or more of size. This could end up with a converted PST that would be over the size limit of any version of Outlook.
What is the correct procedure to take in order to achieve this ability to keep backups in some format that they could be searched for specific criteria and exported for printing in order to meet these legal requirements.

You are correct in that Journaling is probably the feature you want to use here. Trying to PST and OST file gives you no guarantee that the messages are all there or have not been modified by the recipient.
If you are using Exchange on-premises, you can configure journaling to a journal mailbox or a third-party appliance or cloud service. If you are using Exchange Online, you cannot journal to a cloud mailbox and your options there are to configure journaling
to an on-premises mailbox or third-party service.
An alternative would be to keep all messages in the mailboxes themselves using something like Litigation Hold. Even if a user deletes or modifies an item, it would be stored in the hidden "Recoverable Items" folder and would be accessible
via the native eDiscovery tools.

Mail,contacts,calendars
Go to each email and unselect contacts.
Once this is complete all the contacts you add on the devices will stay local. Downfall of this is when you get a new phone you will not be able to transfer data to new phone unless you use computer to back it up

I believe the OP has a question similar to mine...
I have several groups, and the master for each group is only one line, and the detail is between 1 and five lines, like so:
A
A1
A2
B
B1
C
C1
C2
C3
...The problem is, sometimes only the master record gets printed at the bottom of the page, and then the detail is printed at the top of the next page. I don't need each group on it's own page. I just want to be sure that if the detail can't fit on the page with the master, then I want the master to only print on the next page.

InDesign's PDF export engine does not transcode your videos, they are embedded exactly as they were in the original file. The Flash Player runtime which displays video inside PDF files may not show a perfect match to Quicktime etc. because most video playback tools aren't designed for a color-calibrated workflow, but they should be close.
The playback quality (blocking and aliasing) will be affected if the clip is not playing at 100% (screen pixels != video pixels) and in PDFs with the standard video player widget, that will only ever happen when you use 'floating window' mode. PDF pages have physical dimensions, so viewing them at "100%" does not make them match screen pixels.
If you don't mind the video clip being smaller than the media annotation in which it's playing, then use my free upgrade to the Acrobat playback widget - VideoPlayerX - which maintains 1:1 pixel scale until the page is zoomed out too far for it to fit. You can install the widget into InDesign so it's used by default when exporting.

TeresaBoo, I empathize with your dilemma and have a similar problem. I'm trying desperately to keep my teenage daughter away from a controlling and abusive boyfriend. Of course, she is in denial and thinks it's love. Sure, I can block text messages through our wireless provider, but iMessages run on an independent network. I can block a phone number from iMessaging on her phone, but she can unblock it just as easily. I wish there was some way for parents to create a password to protect settings. Now I am back on my Mac. I meant the following: Batch Change the date for a large range of photos, that should have a date stepped in increments.
Select all Photos at once and use the command "Photos > Batch Change".
Then set the date for the first photo and select an increment, e.g. one minute.
Now all photos will get a new date assigned, incremented by one minute, in the sequence you have selected. So you will be able to sort them by date. This way it will be unnecessary to change the titles or filenames.
