Trying to install Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro with Mavericks. Currently run Win7 using VMware but experiencing poor performance and lockup. Have tried to use Boot Camp but cannot get past the 'creating partition' step. The blue bar shows some progress (about 10%), but then after some time it produces a generic error message thst it cannot create the partition.

Hold the option while turning on the computer. You should see your statup drives. Just choose the OS X drive and eject your disc once in OS X.

HELP with Thinkpad 380XD - how do you get on the internet?

I have an older thinkpad 380 XD which seems to be working fine. It has been in the closet for a while but just charged it and it is working well. I can't figure out how to get onto the internet though. Any clues?? I have searched the boards, this website, downloaded the manual - none of these address how to connect to the internet. THis laptop has one USB port, a bunch of pin ports, a pop out for telephone line for a fax modem, but I can't figure this out. I am a Mac user so this is new to me.
Can anyone help me with this?

I would strongly suggest getting a PCMCIA LAN card and going broadband...

I tried to turn off the firewalls to no avail and have, on multiple occasions tried to complete the setup for a Thunderbird email account and continue to get the same message, the pop up flashes in red "sorry we are unable to communicate with our sign-up server"
any ideas how you result this issue?

If it works, the sign up page will connect you to a 3rd party email account provider such as hover or gandi who will require payment. Is this really what you want to do, given that your ISP and other providers (gmail, gmx, hotmail, yahoo) will be happy to give you an account for free?

They came with iLife already installed but when I try to do the updates I can not update IMovie because of an error that says the product has not been registered on the product distribution list. To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). There is no analog to MS Excels print range. So the next best thing is to plan your data so that you don't need to use print range. The next best thing after that is to select the range of cells you want to print, then copy, the switch to the application Preview, and create a new document from the clipboard (select the menu item "File > New from Clibboard") then select all, copy then paste to the destination (maybe an email) .
You can also paste that portion of the table into another table (or a new table) by pasting values only

You need to set up an iCloud account before you can back it up. And you back it up directly from the device - iCloud.com has nothing to do with it. Follow the instructions in the link below to set up your iCloud account and to set up Automatic Backups:

That would be between the you and the carrier that you have the contract with. In the past, I was able to purchase only one month of service from AT&T. Not sure what carrier you have or what contract you have, but you would have to cancel it with them.

An alternate method is Accessibility Settings when connected to iTunes. You should be able to turn it off there. I would also check out some of the answers listed to the right of this post and see if they can help.

Have you tried pulling the batteries out of the damaged ones so that they are completely off; then shutdown your Mac Mini via the power button on the back right. Turn on your new keyboard and trackpad then power your Mini back up? The auto detection should find your new keyboard and trackpad.
