Hi. How I can find other files and remove them?

I have 42 GB of other storage, how can I delete it? I dont believe that osx is 40 GB large. Waiting for some advice, searched the web, but there is nothing really helpful.

"Other" is the category when a file is not one of the other categories (Audio, Movies, Photos, Apps or Backups). So these are files like documents (probably stored in the "Documents" folder for your user).
You are not really short on disk space... so is there a problem?

A few days ago a pop up message came up on my screen saying that my hard drive was full, and that I could not install valuable updates because I did not have enough space on my computer. I have deleted all my downloads, most of my pictures and have done virus scans and I still don't have enough room. How do I find out what is in this 'other' category so that I can delete these files (which seem to be hidden) or whatever they may be?

    Select "Library" from the dropdown.

    Delete "Recovered Messages", if any.

I am using my Description as the caption on Slideshow. I ticked the "Show Title Slide" button and iPhoto physically copied the description on the first slide onto the end of every other description. I can find no way of removing them other than by hand.

DURIM - Okay. I would expect the "Cache Warning" message because your default directories would not be the same as the ones in the settings file I generated.
If you go back to the "7.0" directory and open the "Logs" folder, can you copy the "Audition Log.txt" file and send it as an attachment to [email protected]? We'll take a look in that logfile and see if it gives us more information about why this is failing now.
Also, do you have any other Adobe applications installed on this machine, such as Premiere Pro? If so, do they launch as expected or fail as well?
I do have the trial Pro version of Adobe reader, but I have not activated it, because I fear the same thing will happen did it. I cannot afford to activate the subscription for that product and take the chance of it not working either. I depend on those two programs religiously. Here is the files that you requested. I'm on Mountain Lion and have version 6.1 of AirPort utility so there is no button to "Disconnect All Users"and the only other option of "removing and re-selecting the drive via Time Machine Prefs" doesn't work either. So this will work.
Launch Airport Utility and select the TC "Edit" button, then select the Disks tab. Deselect "Enable File Sharing" and click "Update". The TC will reboot then follow the same procedure and reselect "Enable File Sharing" and click "Update". After TC reboots again you'll be up and running. Not the neatest way to do it but saves having to unplug the TC which risks disk damage and the whole procedure takes less than a minute.The "Enable File Sharing" button seems to have replaced the "Disconnect All Users" button but with the slight disadvantage that it reboots the TC which takes up additional time.

How do I process multiple files and turn them from raw to jpeg. Ive tried and it seems to go through the files but doesnt seem to process them or store them in the selected folder

Yes that was the first thing I did. Then I used the process multiple files and selected a new folder to put them in and selected use open files and selected to turn them into jpeg. The images flash on the screen like they are being processed, but the folder never appears in library. Is it possible because there are a couple 16 bit files open that this corrupts the task. Do I need to create the folder first. Will elements not create the folder on its own.

If you followed these steps to uninstall Parallels (you simply drag Parallels to the Trash), that's all. Parallels is a quite clean application that does not create a lot of files in different folders.
However, you may still have the virtual machines you created in Documents folder. If you want to remove them, open a Finder window, select Documents in the sidebar and remove the Parallels folder

How to find locked files and unlocked them???

Having trouble for snxing itunes i need to find locked files but i dont know how and unlocked them so that i can sync again..

We are collecting the news stories which get emailed to us.
The Inbox file is a huge file with some kind of delimiter.
How can I break at the delimiter and make the messages
seperate using any of ORACLE tools.

hi arvin,
i hope u would have tried out with sql * loader. If not, just try
it out, i feel ur motive could be achieved with the loader .
U need to prepare a control file with the loader options like
insert, or replace, or append ... and the delimiter ur using and
the table specs. u can find the syntax of loader statement by
typing sqlldr from ur unix prompt.

Can we write files and leave them as read-only

Hey Adobe AIR Community,
Another Adobe AIR question for you: Can we write files to the file system and leave them as read-only in Adobe AIR?
In the future, we would overwrite these files (or delete them and write a new one).

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:
Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder

How do I convert AAC files and put them on my SD card

Hello all,
I'm trying to convert some of my itunes track unto my sd card and then play them with my zen. ? The problem is I can't figure out how to get zen media explorer to put the converted files on my sd card. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? Any help and information is very much appreciated.

Why not? Because it isn't really possible. The internal memory of the Zen and the SD card contents are completely distinct storage areas and are not simultaneously visible to the host computer. You either have the Zen in MTP mode where you can interact with the internal memory or you have the Zen in Removable Disk mode where you can interact with the SD(HC) card. It is an either-or proposition. So you must (a) convert your music files to a location on your host computer, (b) put the Zen into Removable Disk mode, (c) transfer the converted files to the SD card and then (d) restore the Zen to MTP mode (where you can use the Memory Card menu items to browse/play the files).
I suppose I could pull back on the "not possible" part a bit since a stand-alone audio converter should allow you to set a user-specified output folder. As such you could put the Zen into Removable Disk mode first and then configure the converter to send files to the approriate folder on whatever dri've letter the SD card gets mapped to.

Can you access files and edit them from different computers in Creative Cloud?

I want to understand the workflow we can have. We have three computers and would like to access and edit the same files in Creative Cloud. Can you do this? I understand I may have to purchase two licenses but will this give everyone access to the same files and able to edit and upload files.
We do this in Dropbox now but with Creative Cloud is sounds like all I can do is share a file for them to comment on, not edit?

With Creative Cloud, file editing comes in via downloading Adobe applications with a Creative Cloud membership. While you cannot edit within Creative Cloud, you can share files with your coworkers which can then be downloaded, edited in an Adobe application, and reuploaded to the Cloud.
Be aware that although you can have two computers activated on the same Creative Cloud membership, you cannot use the same application on two computers simultaneously. A Creative Cloud membership is for one user that can be used on one or more computers.
You may want to look into the Creative Cloud Team Ready, that targets work environments like yours. You can read more about Team Ready here.

SonicStage/Atrac3 files--How do I import these files and convert them??

This is my problem.
I used to have SonicStage, I no longer do, but I found some of my old CDs that I made using that program, but the atrac3 files(I believe that's what they're called) aren't compatible with Mac, so now what do I do? I've never converted anything in my life, are there any apps I could download that will rip the unreadable files from my old CDs and convert them into usable mp3 (or whatever) files?
This is all very foreign to me and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have filled up the C drive in my PC with about 8,000 photo files. I have installed a second hard drive in my PC and want to move all of my photo files to what is now drive F. How do I do this while ensuring that the files remain connected to the thumbnails in Elements 12 when they take up residence on my F drive?

Even if you have the same folder structure, the organizer will find that the internal serial number of the drive is different and show all files as missing; you'll need to reconnect. That's why the backup and restore method is better. It also recognizes the need to upgrade (convert) the catalog format to the new version of Elements.
Use Backup, Restore to move catalog | Organizer | Elements 6 or later
