Yes... but I have come across some setups that came with a native SL (and even one Lion!) installation.. that somehow had a corrupted or older Prokit installed for some unknown reason... and given it's a quick fix to try.. I thought I'd mention it..
I frankly don't think it is entirely a Prokit issue itself, but it wouldn't do any harm to try and install v7 just in case it is part of the problem...
+1 on the UAD stuff....
Also, at the time it crashed... according to the logs...the OP was running Ableton Live at the same time, presumably rewired with Logic... so add all that together with UAD plugins... and that's quite a load on the system...
Finally in thread 32 there is a weird exception msg relating to the Trash2 plugin.. that I haven't seen before...

That might be nothing... but as i said, I haven't seen that one before and given what else is going on.. it might be involved too... or nothing to do with that at all!

Even the lowely Blackberry Torch 9800 has this feature..not iPhone 4s??

Did you find out anything more in regard to this?
I have been using Pro Tools 8 with the MBox 2 connected to my iMac operating Leopard. It worked a treat for nearly four years.
However the hardrive has just been replaced on the iMac which now has Snowleopard. I don't want to have to update to Lion and then fork out £500 for Pro Tools 10.
I would be content to get Logic Pro 9 if I can attach the MBox 2 to it.

Currently, there is one PC and one Mac laptop and we each have iPhones, with one other family member not able to use his 'passed-down' device for iTunes, also.

Hi, I am currently running a 2012 MacBook Pro and just installed Logic Pro X. I have a 500 GB, 7200 RPM G Drive Mini using USB 3.0.
Wanting to save space on my internal hard drive, and not tax my system, if necessary? How do I go about recording and saving projects on my external drive. Any and all details of running this type of setup would be appreciated. Thanks.

Using a Roland TD-7 with Logic Pro

Hello folks, today I come to you with a MIDI problem.
What happens is that I connect my RTD-7 module to a MIDI-to-USB cable and then connect it right to my iMac. I open Logic and choose any drumkit but I don't hear any sounds, Logic is not getting any MIDI signal.
It's weird, because I checked with Audio MIDI Setup, under the MIDI window and it is there as "USB2.0-MIDI", so I'm pretty clueless right now.
Any help will be appreciated!

Using MOTU MachFive 2.02 with Logic Pro (from ver 8)

I'm posting this since a google search brought up nothing about this satisfactorily.
I can't remember where I read it now but if you don't want to create repeated instances of MachFive but still create multiple instruments in one MachFive instance then do the following in the Arrange window:
a) create a New instrument track and assign it to be MIDI Channel 1
b) in the I/O choose the MachFive (I use Stereo)
c) highlighting the instrument track in the Arrange window go to Track - New with next MIDI Channel - and Logic will create another track with the same MachFive instance but with the next MIDI channel (make sure the first is set to MIDI Channel 1!). In the MachFive window - assign instruments as normal...erm that's it.
d) If you want to manipulate volume/pan etc for each particular instrument in the MachFive do NOT use the audio volume/pan tools in the Automation since this will only affect the audio output
globally.
e) Instead - go to the Hyper Editor and draw in your MIDI volume and Pan and other effects there...
f) if you need to manipulate the audio of sounds you should bounce each MachFive sound to a separate audio file (being careful to mute any unwanted tracks) and then edit as an audio file by creating some audio tracks.

No. In short.
Mac Pro 1,1 will not support the latest version of OSX, which is needed to run Logic Pro X.
You would not want to anyway. 2GB is far too little to run Mountain Lion on, let alone Logic on top of that.

How can I setup port forwarding for RDP (3389) using MHS291LVW?

I went into my MHS291LVW and I enabled port forwarding. I didn't see an option for Remote Desktop (RDP) so I added a custom application called RDP and I set "Global Port" and "Private Port" to port number 3389 and I set it as TCP/UDP and then entered the local IP (192.168.1.135) of the PC I want to connect to. I made my local PC use a static IP so this 192.168.1.135 will never change.
Then when I go under "About Jetpack" I see that there is a WAN IP address listed; so I wrote this down and then I tried to connect remotely to this PC from outside the Verizon Jetpack network but it didn't work.
Then the strange thing is when I go to Google and type "what's my IP", Google shows me a different external WAN IP address that Verizon Jetpack showed me in the admin web interface. Anyway, I tried this WAN IP address that Google gave me but it still didn't connect to my local PC.
Can someone please help me in figuring out why this is not working?
I've setup port forwarding on plenty of other routers (Linksys, Netgear, etc.), but I never tried it on a Verizon Jetpack MHS291LVW but it should work the same so I'm not sure why this is not working for me.

Yes. This is how a VPN server works around the private IP address restrictions of the VZW network. It will work and you will be able to access anything that is centrally connected to a VPN server.

Not on the remote PC silly guy. Hosting a VPN from within the VZW network wont do you any good as its IP will be masked by the NAT firewall. You must setup a VPN server off of the VZW network for it to work. That way when you remote into the VPN server it is already outside of the VZW NAT that is restricting you in the first place. There are many VPN vendors that you can test out and pay access for if you don't have any interest in setting up one on your own. Some are free where others charge more money for more bandwidth and customization features.

The idea is that everything rests on the VPN server when remote connections are made. The Jetpack PC, VPN Server and your current local PC all connect to the VPN server so everything is then local communication. Anyone using Antares Auto-Tune 5 with Logic Pro 8 on a Mac Intel?

I just bought the upgrade from Auto-Tune 4 to Auto-Tune 5 since v4 didn't work with the Intel machines, and I'm using a Mac Pro.
After trying to tune one simple part of one song, I'm going nuts. The plug-in is full of bugs, it seems -- mostly in graphical mode. Is anyone else either successfully using this set-up or experiencing major bugs with it?

I'm thinking it's an Intel thing.
When I try to use the various tools in the graphical view, the plug-in will just basically stop responding. I can't close out the plug-in window, and sometimes the "options" window of AT 5 will pop up for no reason and freeze. Its "cancel" and "OK" buttons are non-functioning at that point.
I've hard to force quit Logic a few times now, which pains me to say. Not to mention that it's setting my project back.
Antares doesn't have a forum, and I can't find anything else about this apparent anomaly online anywhere.
Unrelated: I've had problems with Drumagog in LP8 as well. If I try to drag the Drumagog pop-up window around the screen, the only thing that moves is the semi-transparent LP 8 "container". The actual Drumagog window stays put as the LP 8 window that frames the Drumagog window moves about. Very strange.

When panning full left and right in logic pro 9, how can i stop one side from bleeding into the other?

I'm creating a Click track for live performance. I Have 3 audio tracks panned full left (-64) and a Click track panned full right (63) but when I play the track they bleed into each other. If anyone knows a way around this that'd be great

I just ran a test on my G5 Logic system (Logic 9.02) with an internal RME PCI 8in/8out Audio Card and I get perfect separation bouncing to a stereo audio file using standard panning. Click on one side and a couple of crunchy guitars on the other. Each side is completely separate.
So, it seems to point to your hardware unless you have some other audio routing that we've missed.
I'm re-doing my setup so I may try a couple of other tests as I go along.

I try to set up MIDI Touch on iPad as a control surface. It operates through Wifi MIDI network.
When monitoring under Logic, i can see the differents MIDI messages going through the sequencer (Notes, CC messages) correctly (all values 0,1,2,...127) for every touch controllers.
When I use MIDI learn (for example to set up a volume fader), it seems to be learn but it doesn't work properly. When I move the touch controller, the value of Logic parameter jump from 0 to 127...
If I set up a touch control in MIDI Touch with CC7, it control perfectly the volume of a selected track in logic.
It seems i am missing something... Could you help me?

Notice, -internal interface-. What you have is a simple USB MIDI Interface. Most MIDI interfaces are USB.
My point is (was), MIDI OUT of the Korg goes to the connector marked MIDI IN on the Alesis, those new to MIDI often get this wrong.
