New to BSP

I am newbie to BSP.My requirement goes here under.
We have a workflow set up for Travel management and the approvals will be done in Lotus Notes.
The proposed solution is as follows.
I need to develop a BSP page which will be called by Lotus (on click of button in Lotus Notes mail). Lotus will send 3 paramaters Personnel number, Trip number and a text (Approve, Reject or Revise) as a query string attached to the URL.
The values of these 3 parameters are passed to a FM to trigger back the Workflow and continue its process.
This is my first interaction with Web programming.
Can anyone explain as how to proceed?

if you are new to web programming, first you should take some time to get familiar with the basic concepts of it, to get an overview of the available technology.

Before you think about calling the page from Lotus or returning something, just focus on the BSP part itself, read the docus, do some tutorials.
Maybe also read through the BSP weblogs here on SDN - you will need some basic understanding of BSP first (see help links), but in the weblogs you can find a lot of specific problems being addressed and solved.

Creating a New PO using BSP Application

Hello BSP Gurus,
Newbie in BSP and want to create a BSP application that uploads PO data using Transaction ME21N. Its like this, an BSP application displays the Header and Line item data. and then I need to create a New PO by inputting the fields in the BSP Application.
Any suggestions would be rewarded.

How to configure a new service in SICF & create a BSP Application within it

I created a service called zappl under the default_host. The goal is that new customer BSP applications be create within it. So, these applications don't get together with SAP applications (sap/bc/bsp).
However when I try creating an application, the system tries creating automatically a node in the SAP node (sap/bc/bsp). As I don't have permission in this node, the application isn't created.
In SE80, I put /zappl/ prefix before the name application, but the system didn't accept.
Does anyone work using that method?

I've had asked them to give me permission, however the admin team wants to separate the customer applications from SAP applications, creating them in another node under the default_host root.
I have permission to create new nodes within node /zappl/. I created a node zbsp_test and defined CL_HTTP_EXT_BSP as handler. Then, I created an application called zbsp_test too, however I don't get link the application to the recent node. SE80 tries creating it in /sap/bc/bsp. I even tried put /zappl/ before the application name, but it is considered an invalid name.

EREC:how to link new bsp applicaton

Hi Experts,
I have created new bsp application and trying to link it to the Erec in hiring assosiate's main page.
in hiring assosiate's main page in maintanace tab while clicking on maintanance link its not going inside.
Please help me out and let me know the sequence to add new customize BSP application in EREC I think I have missed some steps

Hello Amod,
to add a customer bsp application to an e-recruiting bsp start page you have to define a logical application by maintaining table T77RCF_LOG_APPL. Maintenance has to be done using T-Code SM30 as this is not included in the IMG and therefore often forgotten.
Once you have created the logical application you can define the link and the group assignment in the IMG.

Hi All,
Is it possible to create a new (Custom) BSP application using standard BOL entities, used in ICWC?.
I have a requirement to create a BSP application which maintain service tickets (Transactions). If I can use the BOL entities it will be more convenient for the developement. When I tried to develope a sample application using standard BOL entitity(BTOrder, BTAdminH, etc), it failed!.
Anyone did similar developments ?. Please Help!.

Run Time Error while executing BSP application in Safari browser

Hi Frens,
I am new to BSP application. I have made changes for an existing BSP application which has to be executed on both IE and Safari browsers. I made changes in the View for IE browser and it is executing correctly. I have done the same changes in the Safari view also but when executed in Safari, the browser hangs up and in the backend in SAP it goes to dump. The dump message is as below:
" An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assinged to the class 'CX_BSP_ELEMENT_EXCEPTION', was
not caught,
which led to a runtime error.
The reason for this exception is:

found as BSP parent element. "

Upload/download excel from BSP

Hi all
I am new to BSP's and and need to investigate the following:
Is it possible to create an excel file, manipulate certain cells (e.g. read only, format colours etc.) then export the file to a supplier via the portal. Then read the file and update R3. As the file will be quite large is it possible to compress it?

Download Text file to Local drive from BSP Application

Hi Guys,
I am new to BSP, and I am doing a BSP application in which i want to download a text file to local drive C: on click of button. For that I am having a data in Internal table and Onclick event, in model class method DO_HANDLE_EVENT i want to download text file to local machine drive.
Can anybody provide me full code with all data declaration and all?

You can download the file from BSP pages using the method
CL_BSP_UTILITY=>download.
Please follow the below mentioned steps.
1.Convert the text to a text table ie Internal table with a line type char255 or some others.
2.Convert the text table into a string.
3.Convert the string to XSTRING.
4.Download that XSTRING as text file using the method
   CL_BSP_UTILITY=>download.
Parameters:
OBJECT_S    - XSTRING data
CONTENT_TYPE = ' application/download'
CONTENT_DISPOSITION = 'attachment; file=test.txt'
RESPONSE                   = runtime->server->response
NAVIGATION                   = navigation
OBJECT_T
I dont have system to give a programatical explanation to u.

How do we download a internal table data from a BSP application to the C:\ drive of the user. Have tried GUI Download, but it doesn't work. Also don't want a pop up to appear while this is happening. The code has to there in 'OnInputProcessing' event.
