Hi i cant find my ipod in itunes it is connected to the computer by the usb but in itunes it does not have a list of devices so i cannot sync please help
has nyone else had this probelm or know how to resolve it??

So let's just say they never connect my ipod to wifi, if they just plug it into a computer and revert it to factory settings, will my lock command and message not send since it was never on wifi?
because a factory-resetted iPod has no connection to your Apple-ID naturally. To Itunes / Apple it is just a brandnew device. They can't disable it remotely. Technically maybe, but not legally.
Your only hope would be the police. Give them the serialnumber of the device. But chances are near to nothing to have it ever returned. I myself have had one stolen and it never was found and was never localized with the "find my iphone" tool. The thief has obviously wiped it and is happily using it.
iPhones are in a better boat, they can be tracked by their IMEI code. Whenever a phone logs it into a cellular network, this code is transmitted. But wifi-only devices don't have that. -

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

I have an Apple Configurator install that wont recognize an iPad when I attach it via USB. I cant prepare it or refresh it. It was supervised. I get an error message that says "policy does not have correct profile data". At some point there was a mismatch between the profile on the iPad and the MAC server. The profile on the MAC server has been deleted and the iPad has been erased and reset to default. I need to be able to get Configurator to recognize this device to prepare it for deployment and issue Apps to it. Please help!!
Run the application 'Terminal.app' which you will find in '/Applications/Utilities' on your Macintosh.
Type this into it: defaults delete com.apple.configurator PreprationSavedPolicyDefaultsKey
Hit the return key.
If you get no error message, it worked, and you can quit the app. -
I have a gen 3 ipod and can't get it into disk mode. In itunes it does not have the option and I cant figure out how to do it on the ipod touch itself. Any ideas?

Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data. -
After i updated my iPhone i realized i do not have my camera anymore how to get it back? I also using a new notebook so I do not have a back up to transfer it from. Please help
I'm assuming you mean you don't have your camera application (which is not saved on any backup anyway).
One way to find it is to get to your home screen, swipe the screen from right to left, and type "Camera" in the search field. Camera is a core Apple app and cannot be deleted, so it must be there somewhere.
An alternate approach is to do Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout -

You can buy and install the hard drive you want to. However, on Late 2009 and newer iMacs the temperature sensor is in the hard drive, so if you replace it with a hard drive that has not got a temperature sensor you will have serious fan problems.

My older model Apple TV won't connect to iTunes and does not show up in my devices list in iTunes. I have two Apple TVs in my house and I can't imagine that this is part of the problem but I mention it just in case. My other Apple TV is brand new and it connects to iTunes just fine. I've tried most of the "fixes" and one says to Force Sync but I can't since Apple TV isn't in my device list. Another "Fix" said to Navigate the Apple TV to Settings --> Downloads --> Check for Downloads, but when I tried that there was no option for "Downloads" under the Settings Heading. I'm at a loss. Please help. Could this be an issue with too many authorized devices? We have three iPads, two iPhones, laptop, desktop, two Apple TVs, and an iPod and most of them are syncing the same music playlists and whatnot... have I run out of rope?
hi, just posting to everyone in general..its not you, or your apple tv, it is itunes.
ok, ive had the exact same issues for weeks now, as with everyone i had done the lastest upgrade and no longer could see/sync my gen 1 appleTV.........so, i removed the upgrade and went back to the prev version, even though it was showing in my prefs under appleTV, it still wouldnt show in the side panel under devices....i gave up.
This week i was determined to get it to work! So i started from scratch, totally removed itunes and started back with version 9 and upgrade each version from there, i had no luck, ic clicked find appleTvs but it wouldnt....however i just d/l version 9.2.0.61 and BINGO!. No sooner has it opened and up popped the side panel devices list, showing my appleTV..all ready to be synced etc. I immediately panicked of course haha..and set it all up and its working perfectly.
...Only catch now is that this older version will not be compatiable with my iphone, which i do keep music on...seems we cant win. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr this will be the same for all the latest apple products.
Apple needs to allow more than one version of itunes per pc OR perhaps they could get their act together and include all of the millions of APPLETV GEN1 owners in there latest upgrading..after all, THEY made the product and THEY do sell the movies/tv shows, perhaps they could stop making all the upgrade all about the music only!......on which i might add why not incluse movies/tv shows in icloud! yet another upgrade that should be included in the APPLETV GERNERATION 1!..yes we do still exist!
at the very least, im happy ive managed to get all my movies etc onto the apple tv, where ill keep them and from now on d/l directly onto my apple tv. I usually d/l to my laptop and then send them to the appletv but while trying to get all this sorted i did a test, i d/l a movie using my appletv hoping it would somehow let itunes "find" it and getting it to show up in my device list, but it didnt work, however it did sync/send the movie to itunes.. so at least i could save a back up copy.
good luck trying, as i said this has been weeks and this is the only solution ive found so far....and going through these forums its obviouse its itunes thats the issue, NOT Our apple tvs. -
The new iTunes 12 does not have a rent tab. I've downloaded two movies which appear in the Movies folder on my Windows Explorer but not in the actual iTunes programme itself. Completely frustrating! Where can I find these two movies to watch? It asked me once it was downloaded if I wanted to watch it but I wasn't ready to and now can't find where to play these again.
When iTunes/iPod sync process failed due to timeout, the iPod, has only the initilaised filesytem structure at the start of the Sync.
The timeout failure could be due to
Bad hardisk - do the iPod disk diagnostic, refer to this excellent post by tt2
Slow USB port or resource - Dont use any USB hub, disconnect all other USB devices while syncing
Timeout due to Antivirus or other plugins - disconnect from Internet and stop the Antivirus or monitoribng software if you are syncing.
Preferably stop doing other things while syncing this ancient device, which the latest iTunes designer, think will soon be extinct.

Itunes Store Does Not Have The Band "Headstones" Discography
I searched them like 5 different names whether it be song or artsist and there's no trace of them, except that there lead singer Hugh Dillon's solo stuff is on there and it says listeners alo bought and a name on their is "headstones" but when i click on it.
it brings me to the rolling headstones or the gettin' headstones.
my buddy searched them up and said the were on their but i can't find them. am i doing something wrong or what?The iTunes Store does not have 100% of all music that exists, so it is possible they simply don't sell it. (FYI the iTunes USA Store does not have them.) Ask your friend where he saw them and maybe that will help track it down. You can also check other online music download retailers.
If that does not help, the used Headstones CDs are readily available, which you can buy and rip into your iTunes library. -
