Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device. Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud. If someone deletes them, they are gone. If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

Perform a restore of an iCloud backup to a new device to get back photos. (however many users find that their photos do not come back in a restore, so they end up lost - always sync photos to a computer to save as archive, as you would photos from a digital camera.). You can log into iCloud.com from a computer browser and access contacts. I believe there's an export command available there.

Other than that... File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.

After an unauthorized purchase on itunes was resolved (through paypal) and my phone was updated (3g) my appleID was disabled on my iphone. I can get it on my mac which makes me think it's something wrong with my phone. I believe this all happened when I had to connect with itunes for updates for my iphone to work properly.(it froze, telling me to hookup to itunes). I've changed my password due to the unauthorized purchases, but the confusing part is ....Mac works with ID but phone doesn't. Have you synced with a computer while the passcode was enabled? If so, connect & launch iTunes. You should then be prompted to enter the passcode.

To re-enable a simple passcode, open your Exchange Management Console, open the properties of Organization Configuration/Client Access. Uncheck Require alphanumeric password.
Exchange Administrators always have the option of erasing the data of a remote device, I don't think that can be disabled.

This is why it is very important to make sure that everything is on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

Try this and see if your mail comes back.
Quit the Mail app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. I subsequently updated my new password on my phone, voila the contacts that disappeared came back! I synced my contacts between my phone and email account. Thank God.

See your other post, you need access to a computer. It can be a friend's computer. Disable sync when connected if using a friend's computer.
