Hi there, my internet is crashing everytime I use my macbook pro/safari it happens roughly every 2 mins, it can happen on any website.

Safari brings up a page you are not connected to the internet. I then look at the modem and DSL and internet lights are both flickering and or/off.
They then re-set themselves. I then have to re-set preferences on safari and quit and restart.
I have also tried using with cable into mac and modem and no difference.
I can only figure that maybe Safari is not compatible with the modem? could this be the case?

The first thing to try is changing your DNS settings - and for that you need to open System Preferences, then the
Network section.
In Network - click on Advanced - then the DNS tab
under DNS servers - use the + button to enter two extra lines
either these, from google dns
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
or from OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
then click OK & then 'Apply'
You would need to do that seperately for the Cable (Ethernet) settings and Wireless (Airport) -

I received a message on my iPhone 4 that has a video attached to it. I "saved video" but don't know where. How do I find it and send it to mi MacBook Air?
It would have saved to your camera roll. Connect the phone to your Air via a USB cable and then run Image Capture which is located either in your Utilities folder or Other folder, depending on what version of Mac OS X your are running. You will then see all the photos and videos stored on your iPhone and can then download them.

Migration Assit , PC to MAC - The migration was successful, but I don't know where the files are. It says they're under a different user, 'owner' . I tried to access via sys pref/system/users&groups, but it asks for a password for owner which I don't have. What must I do to access my files?

I have very thin, colored lines that have shown up on my IMac monitor screen. I don't know where they came from or how to get rid of them. I'm concerned now because I started with one and now have three. Does any know why this occurs or how to get rid of them?
I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere. -
I have a 2009 A6 with a 5th Gen. iPod pluggedinto the MMI. I mostly listen to audio books, not a lot ofmusic. The books are 4-6 hours long, vs 4-6minutes with a song. Often, but not always, when I start my A6, the MMI starts on the first song on my iPod, thereforeI don't know where I stopped in my 4-6 hour book. How can I get the interface to stay stopped where I left off? I have gone into iTunes and placed my current book as the first "song" on my iPod for ease of finding it, but often the MMI starts it over at the beginning. Thank you if anyone has any experience with this. My dealer in San Rafael, CA says they've never heard of this issue.
I think my iPod, which is an iPod touch 3rd generation , which is a lot different from a nano, which really makes it almost impossible for me to help you, which is why I suggested that you post your question in the iPod nano community. Your first post says that your product is an iPod nano. I think the people who answer those questions would be most likely to help you. If yours isn't a nano then you can pick the right community from here. This community is really to answer questions about this forum, or issues that don't fit anywhere else.

Not quite what I heard when I went into the Apple Store in Hong Kong yesterday.
I have just bought an iPad in Hong Kong but will eventually be travelling back to the UK.
Louis in the Apple Store told me that iPads without cellular have international warranty but those with cellular do not (as there are slightly different models for different carriers).
But he was pretty cagey and essentially couldn't give a clear, straightforward answer. Which most Apple employees can't.
It is now a grey area, at the discrection of each local Apple Store & is subject, it seems, to you paying the import duty as a possible get out clause.

I'm back with another problem...
I have a Server running Suse 7.3 with HIGHPOINT RAID ATA133 HPT374 PCI card.
I upgraded to ArchLinux 0.7b2.
The problem is that I don't know how to load the driver on startup.
In Suse, I had the following 2 lines in the /etc/modules.conf working:
'probeall block-major-8 scsi_mod sd_mod hpt374'
'options -k hpt374'
Of couse no info/man for general installation from the mfg website (only for Suse/RedHat).
Driver has been compiled for the kernel installed properly and with 'insmod /home/test/hpt374.ko' it's loaded and working (without modprobe scsi driver)
Someone can help me ?

PS: HDPARM is useful for IDE-RAID configuration ?

Okay my configuration :
- HDD Eide master IDE (boot) 80Giga with Arch Linux
- Controller RAID PCI (supported by Linux/Bsd) with 4 HDD in Raid 5.
Archlinux boot smooth from disc0 (Primary Master IDE).
On the RAID there is the shared (samba) directories for all the PC clients.
The RAID need a driver to work (hpt374), so I believe first load the driver and then mount the RAID partition in, for example, /mnt.
The driver is the HPT 374 that is different from the one in kernel 2.6.x (so I always have to disable from kernel, recompile a new kernel, and build the new driver from the source through a 'makefile' supplied from the manufacturer of the RAID card).
Driver was loaded under Suse 7.3 (kernel 2.4.x) with 2 lines inside the file /etc/modules.conf, that are the two lines I mentioned on my first post.
I tried to load the driver HPT374 as module inside /etc/rc.conf, but I need the option '-k' when the driver is loaded (manually : 'modprobe -k hpt374') so I don't know where to key in the option '-k' to load properly the driver.
Funny thing is that Highpoint (manufacturer) nowhere explain the meaning of '-k' option, just force everybody to use it, telling twice to remember about it ("please remember that '-k' option must be included everytime you load the driver, otherwise it will not work properly"!!!)
So, if I load the driver through /etc/rc.conf, I cannot include "-k" option.
If I have to load manually/separately, I don't have idea where I can setup a script or include this command!
You also mention about "build a kernel" with the driver in. It sound great!
I'm newbie: can you redict me some HOWTO about compiling kernel with a driver in? I always just untar the new valilla kernel fvrom kernel.org, and proceed with taking aways all modules I do not need! So I don't know how to include external driver/module and patches.

I have recently some across a dilemma and then a discovery. Back story as quick as possible if i can.
I have a burning question if anyone has the answer. I have been stuck for the past few months on how to redo my current setup (two new monitors, I big one and a smaller second). For the past few weeks I have been using two window to get familiar with the idea of one big monitor or 21:9 cause ultimately what I need is one for browsing and one for watching youtube or my streams. magic happened the other day with i opened a link for youtube and it made just that window full screen "kind of" which is heaven to me, I can't seem to reproduce it. Does anyone know why this happened
and this here is what i would normally look like, if I hit the theater mode naturally.

a menu bar and dock; there is or was a way (in Mavericks) to work around this issue to

Your camera roll photos - the pictures that you take with the iPad camera or saved from websites are stored in the iPad backup. You will not see them anywhere on your computer unless you import them to the PC from the iPad.
You cannot see what is stored in the iPad backup on your PC. It doesn't work that way. This explains iTunes backups - what is backed up and where the backup file is stored on the computer. It may be a little different in Windows 8. now.

This question actually pertains to a copy of Logic Platinum 6 I own but I don't know where else to ask it, so here I am in the Logic 8 forum.
I haven't touched Logic in a year or maybe two, and I just installed it on my computer and after attempting to start it up with two different XS keys (I thought I lost one so I have a replacement and I forget which one is the active one) it says "no XS key found" to both of them.
I want to upgrade to Logic 8 but in the mean time I can't even get Logic 6 to recognize my XS key.
Please help me out if you have any information that would be beneficial or know where I could seek help!

Colin C.When you plugin them in, are they recognised in System Profiler? Try differnt ports, connecting them directly and not on a hub. Try on a different computer if necessary.
