No, this canot be done, afaik. When your camera or card is connected, you will see the thumbnails in the camera pane, but not full size preview. So to browse your photos on the iPad you will need to import them to your camera roll. But you need not delete them from the camera or card after importing, so you might simply import selected photos to your camera roll from the camera grid and then delete them again from the camera roll after importing and browsing, without removing them from the card/camera.

I cannot get into Settings! It keeps reading out Slide to Unlock when I try to slide teh arrow to open the fpur digit entry boxes.

Yes, turn by turn directions is available on the new ipad. I've tried it and it does work.

When connecting the Camera Connection Kit to a camera or SD card all you see are the thumbnails of the photos. I suggest you review those, select the photos you might want to see full screen, then import them to your iPad. After viewing them you can always delete them if you no longer want them on your iPad.
I also suggest Keeping the photos on your camera or SD card until you import the to your computer and back them up to at least one other location.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I would like to keep new iPad with the same account and to transfer only games to new iPad. In that case I would like to be responsible for buying new apps for both iPads. Also, I would like to know could I backup two iPads to the same computer and same iTunes library?

As you said, Family Sharing would need iOS 8 on both iPads. You can go to the App Store and click on each app in your purchases, to check that each of your necessary apps are compatible with iOS 8, but the vast majority will be so that should not be too much of a concern. The easiest way for you to carry out this entire operation is through Family Sharing, once both iPads are on iOS 8, all you would have to do is go into the App Store from the new iPad and click "purchases" which will now show your name as a family member and allow access to all your previously purchased apps that allow family sharing, including the games. Again, in App Store you can check that each of the game apps allow Family Sharing, by touching on the icon of the app and scrolling to the details area it will say "Family Sharing: Yes/No". It will be free to download any previous purchases to the new iPad. To answer your other question, yes you can back up two iPads to the same iTunes Library, they have different serial numbers and are recognized as separate devices, for ease of use it is recommended to uncheck automatic syncing on the new device for music, photos, and more. Sky is right you can restore the old backup and it will not affect the old iPad
To make sure do this:
1. If you have the old one then just turn off wi-fi and the iPad (that's just for your peace of mind)
2. Put new iPad on airplane mode (just for no interruptions )
3. Connect it (while it's on, don't shut it down)
4. Follow prompts and when it asks if you want to setup as new or restore CHOOSE: RESTORE
5. It will make its magic (just wait for it to sync, restarts, and finishes) it might ask you to update software if it does just accept
6. You can rename your new iPad like that you can have a fresh back up
7. ENJOY your new iPad

1. Do the above steps 1, 2, 3.
2. On step 4 you can choose to set up as new
3. Then you can choose what to sync on it (click on iPad on the left panel then the tabs on top you choose what you want on it (you can also do that if you restore)
4. Follow steps 5, 6, 7.

This does help me because I am pondering on wether to buy an airport extreme to solve my ipad 2 connection woes. I have an extremely old router dLink 524....but I have NEVER had any problems with it at all ever. My xbox connected great to it and netflix ran flawless through my xbox.....now I have an ipad2 and an apple tv and they are BOTH having horrible connection problems. I have read most of the forums on how to fix it by changing the settings on my router but since mine is so old I couldn't do some of the suggested solutions. So here I am debating on whether to spend all this $ on an airport extreme? I am just hoping that if I go and purchase this, my connectivity issues problems will go away like yours did. Just wondering if you have ATV as well and if the AE solved its problems? I have read about AE solving ipad2 wifi problems, I'm just hoping it will solve my ATV as well.

No... but be aware that if you take it into an Apple Store for warranty support, Apple will know that it was purchased in the US and could conceivably require payment of an import duty or tax - I have no idea if this is so in Brazil, but have read reports that it is true in some countries.

Honestly, I don't think that they have any other way of accessing anything on the iPad than any other user has. The Apple Store genius will just put the device through the standard troubleshooting steps - in your case probably try to restore the device to factory settings and if that doesn't work, then they will make some sort of offer for a replacement assuming that your iPad is still under warranty.
If I'm not mistaken they will probably erase the device in order to try to "fix" it. That's what restoring to factory settings does. I assumed that you were concerned about losing data - but if you are concerned that they are going to see something that you don't want them to see or access, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen.
