Hi i exported a photo form mac book pro to an external hard disk then i can not found it did i lose my photo
hi, I exported photo from my mac to external hard disk an now I did not found the photo in the HD did I lost it and if it possible how can I retain it back . thank you for your help.
If you know the name of the photo, search for it using the name. If you don't and have Time Machine or other backup, locate the photo and you should be able to get the name.

When I try to back up my Mac Book Pro to an external hard drive some of the files are backed up but not all files are backed up. I don't understand. Can anyone help please?
I've used time machine in the past and couldn't get to the bottom of the problem so I've recently downloaded and am using carbon copy cloner and I get the same problem. The files that are missing are just word and number documents. Seems so odd.

That is probably a lot of stuff you do not want on your iPhone. So this can be handled a few different was. For you current situation, you can delete the apps directly on your iPhone by holding on the app until it starts to jiggle and then tap on the X of all the apps that you do not want. The second thing you can do is before you sync with iTunes, look at the app section on your iPhone to know what gets transfer to it and you can deselect items that you do not want. Lastly, if you download content on your iPad and it is a universal app, you can actually download it directly to your iPhone by looking at your past purchases and download it directly from the App Store. i have LR5 on a mac book pro with a WD external hard drive with my with my LR5 images . my problem is my external drive is corrupted .i was told by apple that my macshow the hard drive is there but it is not moumting and have to be reformat. i have to use recovery data to save my images on my external before i can refomat.iam willing to lose my images on my extenal hard drive but i would like to know can i erase my LR5 images and start over or delete LR5 and download it again
Simply start a new catalog:
File >> New Catalog
Choose a new name and save.
When the empty catalog launches you are ready to start over. -
Why won't my mac book pro recognize my external hard drive?
I'm having a battery issue with my computer, and need to bring it to the nearby Apple Store to have the battery looked at and possibly changed. I wanted to back up my computer in preparation for my visit, but for whatever reason, my Mac Book Pro is not recognizing my trusty LaCie external hard drive, a device I have used with this computer for two years now and performed countless backups with. I am not sure why this is happening. I have already tried restarting the computer multiple times, and unplugging and replugging the hard drive, both to no avail. Are there any ways I can get my computer to recognize my hard drive in order to perform the backup? Thanks.

I cannot view my flash drive OR my office server, which I should be able to connect to via VPN. VPN was installed on my Macbook Pro at my office on Friday. It worked fine. Now I bring it home, and I connect using VPN, and it shows that I am connected, yet the server hard drive icon does not appear on my desktop (as it usually did) and I can't see how to access the server at work.
I also cannot view flash drives when I plug them in - they just don't show up.
I had Norton installed; I read online I should disable that. I did this, and no luck. I also have already done all the things suggested on this post and have all the boxes checked, and yet, still cannot use a flash drive or access my work server.
I am stuck? Do I have to bring my Macbook pro in for service? I have NOT upgraded to Mavericks.

With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config. -
