Hi, I have an Iphone 4 that switches off every time I disconnect it from my charger. If connected to my PC it switches on (apple logo) then switches off again continuously. When powered wifi, bluetooth and cellular network are all inop?
As the device is cut off from any sort of means of data transfer I cannot backup any of my Photos (ive just had my first child so there are loads on there). Im receiving a replacement phone from Vodafone UK on Monday but they have told me there is no way to back them up from one device to the other. Ive also contacted the Apple 'premium' retailer in my hometown who also said there was nothing they could do.
Advice would be much appreciated. Thanks
Anyone?

earlier my itunes told me that my files were corrupted and I needed to restore, so I did. In the middle of the restore I lost internet connection. Now my computer and Itunes will not recognize my Ipod and if it is not plugged in when I turn the Ipod on it only shows the apple logo then shuts off after 30 seconds. If it is plugged in it will charge, but Itunes and Windows will not recognize it. I have tried the menu + select shutoff multiple times with no change. All it will say while it is charging is do not disconnect.
The clicking sound is your iPod Hardisk, trying to retract and find the boot sector unsuccesfully.
Hopefully, you can do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as in this great post by tt2., it wont fix your problem, but let you know, how dire is your Hardisk health.
So only as a last resort, one way, to get the stuck Hardisk head free, is to bang the iPod on a rubber mouse pad, when you reset it, but do it at your own risk, some very lucky guys got it working again for the next 14 months, like myself. -
Refurbished iPod touch 3rd gen won't start. Just got it today to replace my broken one. It freezes at the screen with the apple logo, then flashes off and tries to restart again. Help!
I have tried holding the power home button but all that does is turn it off. When I try to start it again it goes into the same loop.

hi, when i turn my phone on it just shows the apple logo then turns off please help!
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
If you try this three or four times without success, it's time to make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar to have your device evaluated by the techs. -

The phone has been fully charged, software OS 8.1.1 lots of storage and fully operational. Any ideas.
I understand what you are trying to say, but the device is not fully operational, or you wouldn't be here. Does the device go to logo, then turn off, then go to logo again? If not, then you need to first try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If that does not help, then restore from backup. If the restore from backup is not successful, then restore as new, not from a backup. If the restore from new is not successful, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location and have the hardware checked. You might also want to take a look at this link and see if your iPhone 5 qualifies for the battery replacement program. https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/ Go to that site and enter your serial number. If you have trouble restoring, see this support document. If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Hello,
I need help before i go to the apple store for help.
My problem is that I have an Ipod touch which it was working fine but now it will not boot all the way.
It will not show the red bar when is ready to be turn off or reboot when using both buttons to reset it it will only come to the apple logo then goes blank.
I tried to restore via Itunes but same result, it will start showing is doing the extract then it will go blank and get a message saying that It can not find the device.
What do i need to do.
Thank you for your help.
regards,
Mario
PS. The OS I am not sure do not remember exactly.- Reboot the computer
- Try another USB port
- Try another cable try another cable
- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Can I use GPS while the data and cellular networks are turned off?
Here's the deal: I am traveling on the Alaska Highway from Alaska, through Canada, to the lower 48 states. AT&T has advised me that while I am in Canada I will be charged 79 cents a minute for airtime and 2 cents per kilobyte for data. Ouch. Given this, I intend to turn my iPhone on "airplane mode" while in Canada, so I don't accidently fetch mail, or do some other thing which would load data at the cost of 2 cents per KB.
BUT! I would like to be able to take pictures with my iPhone 3G and have them tagged with location by the GPS. Everything I have read indicates that GPS is turned off when the phone is in Airplane Mode.
So, my question is: can I still retain access to GPS for my photos while turning off all other radios in my phone? With the new Places feature in iPhoto, I'd really hate to have 2,000 miles worth of photos and no location data to go with them, ya know?Tamara, thank you. Of course I already did that, and no, they are not geotagged. Which is why I specifically phrased my question, "can I still retain access to GPS for my photos while turning off all other radios in my phone?"
In other words, is there SOME WAY--ANY WAY--to turn GPS back on, like you can with Wi-Fi? Or maybe there is some way, any way, to turn off all the cellular functions only, while leaving the GPS receiver on?
I am aware of the "Data Roaming" setting in the Network settings. I have always had that turned off, but I cannot experiment with that setting, as I am not in an area where roaming would occur.
I'm just hoping to avoid a surprise huge bill due to GPS grabbing some data or relying somehow on the cellular network, and am hoping to know if anyone has any experience with these issues. At 2 cents per KB, an average email would cost $1 to download. I have no idea what kind of data flies back and forth when GPS is used, or if the ONLY data received by GPS is from the navsat system. I seem to recall that iPhone GPS also relied somewhat on cellular data, though for photo geotagging it probably shouldn't have to.
I apologize if I was not clear in my questions.
Thanks so much for your help!

Hi!
I purchased my AppleTV in Miami, but I live in Argentina.
I have not been able to get my device running correctly, and altough I've read tons of things online, I still have no solution to my problem.
Here's the thing: after everything's plugged in and ON, I see the Apple logo briefly, then the TV displays a sign that says no signal, check pwoer cords and power source.
But everything is plugged in and connected properly, otherwise, I doubt I'd be seeing the apple logo, right?
I tried changing the HDMI cable, reversing the ends, switching ports, hard resetting the ATV, and trying a different TV. No luck.
I read there is some issue with Samsung TVs, and most LED and LCD tvs down here are Samsung.
On the other hand, I cannot return it or exchange it, since I bought it in the states.
Oh! One of the tvs I tried it on displays a little sign that reads "connected at 1280x720 @60hz", and only THEN, goes to the "no signal" sign.
Please!!! I am being driven up the walls here.... HELP!!Try this:
Change the Apple TV resolution:
Press and hold the Menu and Up button on your Apple Remote for six seconds.
The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals.
Press Play on the Apple Remote to keep the current resolution or Select to manually cycle to the next resolution. -
I made a update to the ios 6 and now its just showing the apple logo and going off to black and repeating tat any help please?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Iphone 5 froze on the apple logo then turned off and won't turn back on.
Also for the first 15 minutes it was OFF, it was overheating. Kept getting hotter and hotter until it stopped and cooled back down. I have tried turning it back on, restarting it, plugging it into my computer, charging it with an outlet.
I turned it off in the first place because I wasn't receiving any reception. please help. I am traveling indefinitely in Indonesia and can't just go walk into an Apple store.
I have not updated to the latest software because the internet here is too slow to do so.
thanks in advanceHi Hold both buttons down for 50 Seconds Maybe it's a Battery or Hardware fault Make an Appointment at Apple Store. Cheers Brian

Hey everyone,
This morning i took my phone out of the charger and everything was normal however, once i got in the car i looked at my phone and realized it was turned off. I tried turning it on again as well but all it does is going to the start up screen (The white screen with the apple logo) and then it turns off again as well. I also put it on the charger but it does the same thing but repeatedly. So it just goes to the white screen and off again. At last i resorted to recovering my phone even if it meant losing all my data. Slow internet connection meant it took all night but in the morning i recovered and everything and got to the last step ( It told me its finished but i should leave my phone connected to itunes and it will pop up there) but all that popped up was an error screen. It still broken but now sometimes when i try to turn it on the same white screen with the logo comes on with a bar under it. this bar fills up a little then the screen goes black again. Is there any other way i can try to fix this?
P.S. There are no apple stores in my area so i took it to one of the phone stores here and even they said they couldnt do anything about itTry:

I am not touching it at all, the phone is just powering itself up until it shows the apple logo on the screen, then it turns itself off, and repeats.
