Hi, i have an ipod touch 3rd Gen, and I'm having problems for the past two days trying to sync it with my itunes.
The syncing logo just doesn't appear on the upper right corner. Tried restoring but it doesnt work, and now theres nth in it. :(
Itunes just sends out this msg saying that the syncing session has expired.
helpplease!

Yeap tried resetting.
and yeap, restarted the com.
... maybe i'll try red-snow-ing it.. might just work.

Hello, I have an iPod touch, 3rd generation and it's having problems.
I can only get my music to play in one ear bud, but it only plays in one earbud if it's pushed all the way in, if I pull it out some, it'll continue playing in both. I've tried several different headphones. It's quite frustrating because if I want to listen normally I have to fiddle with it and if it moves the slightest bit it stops playing. Can anyone tell me why it's doing this?

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Ok so i have this iPod touch (3rd gen) and i'm trying to update it through iTunes and when i click check for update it keeps saying this version of iPod software (2.2.1) is your current version. what do i do? how do i update it?

I have an iPod Touch 3rd gen and while it is recognized by my laptop with Win 8.1, it won't sync with iTunes. It worked fine while my laptop had Win 8 but after the update, it quit syncing. Strange though, I downloaded an app directly to my iPod and when I connected it to my laptop again (for recharging if nothing else), iTunes updated itself by including the new app. I also tried syncing wirelessly. Also unsuccessful. I'm about ready to change to an alternate to iTunes if I can't get this situation fixed. Anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I have an ipod touch 3rd gen I am giving to my daughter, I reset it to sync it with her itunes account and now it is stuck on OS 4.2 and won't update beyond that. None of the apps that used to be on it (I tried to add them) will load due to the old version of OS. Can I force an update? Please help.
Are you sure it's a 3rd generation Touch? If it has Model No. A1288 etched into the back casing, it's a 2nd generation, not 3rd. The 2nd generation Touch cannot be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1.
(The 3rd gen Touch has Model No. A1318 etched into the back casing.) -
I do not want to restore it, as there is infomation on it I need. I haven't backed it up in a while(I know that's my fault), but this is the first time this has happened.

If y can't make a backup then you will either have to:
- restore from an existing backup
- Contact a data recovery company
- Maybe after restoring via How to perform iPad recovery for photos, videos

Then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I have been having troubles with this for months and am extremly tired of not being able to download my songs. I bought these songs off of Itunes as well, so I really hope i can retrieve them. I have an iPod Touch 3rd Gen. There is a problem with the volume dropping down and then right back up, intermittenly on various songs. If you rewind past that spot, it will not do it again. It is not always the same songs. What can I do to correct this issue? I have tried a hard reboot on the iPod and the problem is still there.

Hold down the on/off button and the home button for 20 to 30 sec, when the iPod starts and the Apple logo is on the screen release the on/off button but continue to hold the home button until you see the plug into iTunes screen. Connect the iPod to iTunes and you should be good to go.

Then you most likely have a 2nd generation. To confirm, check the model number on the back. if it is A1288, it is a 2nd gen and can not be upgraded beyond 4.2.1.
