Hi, I have backed up my images on three different external Hard drives, and have "ADDED" each to the Lightroom catalogue so that I can access the images from any of the Hard drives.  I make most of my image corrections and adjustments using  my main exter

Your iTunes account won't include your non-iTunes purchased e.g. music copied from CDs etc, nor photos that were synced from a computer.
To get non-iTunes music you will have to go via a computer. If you don't have that music on, for example, an external drive, then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back from a device : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
For photos that were originally synced from a computer then there are apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy them between devices and/or to a computer (though photos are 'optimised' as part of the syncing process, so if you do copy them back to a computer then they might not be the same as they were on your laptop).
There is also this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

You can only import photos from the camera roll into the computer. Is that the album that you are seeing?
Any albums that you create on the device itself (the iPad that is) cannot be transferred to your computer. iPad created albums do not contain copies of your photos but merely pointers to those photos so they do not actually exist in those albums.

  • I have created an extensive slideshow w/music on my MacBook Pro iPhoto. How do I export a slideshow so that I can burn a DVD from it? "Help" does not offer info for this request, only if you want to export to another Apple device.   Help!!!

I have created a lengthy slideshow with music on my MacBook Pro under Iphoto.   What steps do I need to take in order to burn a DVD copy of this slideshow?     "Help" does not offer info for this transaction, only if you want to export to another Apple device and it shows that you must first export to Itunes.  Can anyone help me with information on just copying to a DVD?  I don't want to email it or show it on another Apple device.  I want to be able to burn multiple copies on DVDs as a gift......    Can it be done?   I'm not real computer savvy

Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.
This is all described in the User's Guide, reading it may be a good place to start.

  • I have a terabyte of movies that I would like to put on a the cloud so that I can access them via iTunes anywhere.  The movies are almost all .avi.  I have tried to drag them to my iTunes on my laptop but have not been able to transfer 1 single file.

Can anyone help me import .avi movies to a cloud drive so that I can play them on my iPad when I'm traveling.  It is one of the only reasons I purchased the thing and I cannot figure out how to access my personal movie files from a "cloud" drive.

To get that much storage, you need to look to professional online services.  Pro-level hosting accounts may offer you that much (well, many will offer as much storage as you are prepared to pay for), or Amazon professional cloud services.  You could also store the files on a home machine and pay for a professional hosting service so you could stream them over your own account (assuming your ISP connection and agreement allows for the bandwidth used).  You would still need to deal with the issue of finding an app for the iPad that supported avi streaming.

  • HT1296 When I connect my iPhone 4 to my computer it says that there is no device driver. I click fix it now and it does nothing. How do I fix this so that I can transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer? Please help. Thank you

I cannot get my computer to find a device driver to connect my iPhone 4 to my computer so that I can transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer in order to free up some memory on my phone. Can you please help me. I have used the troubleshoot method on my computer and it does nothing. I have a Windows 8 computer. Thank you for your help.

Reinstall iTunes. Make sure you follow the instructions in this support document to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet.

    Hello, Gazzlaa84.
You can import your media a couple different ways.  If you plan on keeping the media on the external drive, I would just direct iTunes to read the media folder on the external.  Here are the steps on how to make that change.

thank you, I have the adaptors so glad that would work.  I just heard adaptors burn out often.  So Just thought for my main iMac computer, a plug would be best.  I will get one once I move.
Any other suggestions or things I should know about apple products in Ireland.  I know there are no Apple stores there.
An adaptor doesn't burn out. It merely serves as a means to connect the power prongs on your device to the power supply.
I believe you are thinking of a transformer, which you do not need. A transformer converts one voltage to another.
You don't need to do that as the power supply of modern electronics can take almost any worldwide voltage.
Look at the label on the device. It should indicate the input power acceptable of 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz.
Additionally, I found the adapters cheaper in the UK than I found them in the US. They were available in most supermarket chains. I wasn't in Ireland, so I can't say one way or the other.
If you have something that doesn't have that input power spec, it would require a transformer.
On other items like electric clocks or things with motors, you can connect them up to a transformer and the voltage will be correct, but the frequency may not. For clocks, that will cause them to not keep time well. For motors, they will burn out.

The largest capacity HDD that you can install is the HGST 1.5 TB HDD:

Any 2.5" 9.5mm thick SATA HDD will fit and operate in your MBP, regardless of capacity.

I have recently purchased a hybred 750GbHDD as an upgrade for my MAC Book Pro (Intell Version) I have a boot camp partition to the original 500GB HDD. How can I expand both partitions to fit the new drive?
I have tried bootcamp and have had no luck due to the fact that boot camp doesn't see the additional HDD space of 250Gb. What am I not doing?

Ouch, well there is a problem.
This is the stack of partitions on your old drive
    EFI (hidden)
    Lion (50GB say)
    Bootcamp (50GB say)
    Lion Recovery Partiton (hidden)
This is the same stack on your new drive imaged from the old one.
    EFI (hidden)
    Lion (50GB say)
    Bootcamp (50GB say)
    Lion Recovery Partiton (hidden)
    Emtpy Space (100GB say)
    This is what you want
    EFI (hidden)
    Lion (100GB say)
    Bootcamp (100GB say)
    Lion Recovery Partiton (hidden)
EFI has to be at the top of the drive and Lion Recovery has to be at the bottom of the drive.
And you only have four partitions.
You can't move the Lion Recovery Partition or Bootcamp partiton, however you can expand the Lion Partition into empty space below it. (but can't delete or move the Lion Recovery partition)
Your Duplicator duplicated perfectly, too perfectly Likely would work with same sized drives/partitions.
This is what your going to need to do.
You need to move the Bootcamp partition to a blank external drive using WinClone and disconnect. This is so you have two backups of it. (one on your old 500GB drive)
You will need a drive enclousre or IDE/SATA to USB adapter cable for the older 500GB drive and option key boot from it. (some enclosures can't be booted from so check first Other World Computing is good place to ask)
Download the free Carbon Copy Cloner, grab any new files off the new 750GB internal drive to the old 500GB your booted from.
Open Apple's Disk Utility and Erase with Zero option the entire internal 750GB drive and let it rip, this will map off as many bad sectors and improve reliability.
Now use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the 500GB Lion + Lion Recovery Partitions to the internal 750GB, it will "fix" things and place Lion Recovery at the bottom of the drive where it belongs, give all the extra space to OS X Lion.
Next your going to have to follow WinClones instructions to restore your Bootcamp, likely you will have to recreate the Bootcamp partition first (in Bootcamp) to the size you want and then clone. Likely Winclone may "fix" Windows to recognize it's in a new larger partition now. I don't know you'll have to check as I haven't used it.
When Bootcamp creates the partition it will place it near the bottom next to the Lion Recovery Partition.
As you know you will have to re-validate Windows with Lord Redmond or it expires as you changed the hardware.

  • Can I move all my photo that I can see on iPhoto from my Mac hardrive and put them on an external hard drive and still be able to see them as thumbnails in iPhoto? Thanks! The reason, I need to know if I can do this is b/c I am running out of HD space!sp

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • My home computer with my i-tunes library was destroyed in a fire. I have the entire library on a 164GB  i-pod and i'd like to know how to move this content back to a home computer so that i can access it with my other ipod/pad/touch devices. How?

How do I restore my library from an i-pod? My home computer with my i-tunes library was recently destroyed in a fire. I have the entire library on a 160GB i-pod that I bought a few years back. How should I go about getting this content back to a computer so that I can access it with my other ipod/pad/touch/phone devices?

You can't transfer songs from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store (and you can re-download any previous purchase from the iTunes Store Purchased screen).
However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer songs files from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the song files are on your computer, drag the files (or the folder containing the files) to the iTunes window to add them to the iTunes library.

  • Can I retrieve data from my iPhone 4 hard drive without the SIM card?

Can I retreive data from my iPhone 4 hard drive without the sim?

There is no hard drive in an iPhone, it is all solid state memory. If the phone is working you can always copy content from it. If it is not you will need to restore and activate it, and that requires a SIM card.
