Up to 9.5hrs BUT can be around 5hrs depending on how users use the machine. To help users keep the battery in good shape, HP has this article:

  • I Can't Back-up/Sync/Update My Phone Anymore Since I Have A New Laptop?

The old computer is gone, I deauthorized it before I wiped the HDD.  So, now I have a new laptop with iTunes on it and I can't sync to it without wiping my entire phone? What can I do?   This makes no sense.  I am using the same Apple ID, the old computer is gone and deauthorized, should I not be able to do this?  There has to be a workaround or are you telling me you can never buy a new computer once you have an iPhone? (being sarcastic but there has to be a way)
I don't want to erase my phone, I currently back-up to the cloud so I am unsure what to do.  The iPhone Apple ID is teh same as the iTunes Apple ID.  Please help.  I am sure someone here has bought a new computer since the advent of the iPhone.  ;-)

I appreciate all of the help.  All I really need to be able to do is restore all of my settings and address book and all that.  I use iTunes Match and all my apps are allready in iTunes, so all I need to do is put those apps back on my phone.  I would think this to be simple and I should not have to oull everything off of my phone except settings.  This is more complex than it needs to be.  If I were to connect it and have the phone overwritten, what would happen?
I am pasting the instructions below with questions:
    1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under iTunes>Preferences>Devices(under Edit menu if using Windows).
    2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications on your computer(iCal & Address Book on a Mac, Windows Address Book or Outlook if using Windows). These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.  I don't understand, I don't use Outlook, and what is Windows Address book?
    3. Connect your phone, iTunes running, do not sync at this point.
    4. Store>Authorize this computer. The computer is allready authorized.
    5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on your phone will be in your iTunes library).   Umm, I use iTunes Match and all the apps I have are allready in my iTunes, so is this necessary?
    6. Right click your phone in the left device pane & select "Reset warnings".
    7. Right click again and select "Backup".
    8. Right click again & select "Restore from Backup", select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
    9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore your iTunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding your contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select "Merge".  Do I need to do this?
Your phone should look just like it did when you started, with no data loss.
You should be good to go.

I recently changed my lap top. My problem is the new lap top won't accept my apple I D it asked me to sing up for a new one which I did.
I am puzzled by this. The laptop doesn't need the Apple ID - but iTunes does. I could be missing something but ....
Why would you not be able to use your existing Apple ID and iTunes account on a new laptop? If you authorized the computer - you should be able to use your existing account - unless you already had 5 computers authorized with the existing ID - and that was why iTunes would not accept the ID. However, I'm sure that you would have received a popup message from iTunes telling you that you had reached the limit.
I just received a new MBP and my daughter did as well. My entire family shares an Apple ID and we had no issues at all with my Apple ID and iTunes on our new computers and I did not have to sign up for a new account. Did you even try the old ID?

  • HT4527 I have a new laptop/PC, and I want to keep content of iTunes on an external drive, how do I set this up?

I have a new laptop/pc, and I am trying to set up iTunes on it; but I want to keep content on an external drive (lots of movies/books/etc.).   I know I will not be able to see when not hooked up to that drive, or sync with out it.  What is the best way to go about setting this up.

    Hi drnels,
Are you saying you still have access to the backup? If you do, you should take a look at [[Backing up your information]]. It will show you where all of your personal information is stored in Firefox and how you can copy it to a new install.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • I have a new laptop that I want to transfer my Itunes account to so I can sync my ipad and laptop. I do not want to lose the info on the ipad

I lost my old laptop I used to sync my ipad with. I also have a new email address. I have a new laptop and new email address, and want to use it to sync my ipad. I have been trying to sync both items without losing the info on my Ipad. How can I do this?

No. You're allowed up to 5 or somehting, but if you don't deauthorize the old one, when you log into the store and look up your prefs you'll see it say 2 authorized computers.
    And you're welcome.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time.  It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library.  If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library.  So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

If you have a Mac, it's pretty easy. But you don't (should I make a pitch for you to get a MacBook Pro in the future)?
This should help you out to sync it back to several non-Apple software:

The iPod sees the new computer as a new iTunes library. You can only sync with one iTunes library.  However, you can manage music among disfferent computers.  See:
