Try and force the iPad Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • HT1212 I have forgotten my passcode for ipad and itunes is not "detecting a device in recovery mode."

I have forgotten my passcode for ipad and itunes is asking passcode to be entered - even after following directions for computers not synced... multiple times, but iTunes is not "detecting a device in recovery mode."  What do I do now?

    DFU Restore
This will very likley result in loss of data.
Plug the iPhone into the computer.
Ensure that it is running the latest version of iTunes and that it has access to the internet.
Press and hold both the home and sleep/wake buttons for exactly eight seconds.
Release only the sleep/wake button but continue to hold the home button for another five seconds.
Let go of the home button, then look at the computer screen for an instructional popup.
The popup should say "iTunes has detected a device in recovery mode. . .(etc)"  Click accept to all boxes and let iTunes download and install all of the latest device Firmware and Software.
If no popup appears, repeat the above DFU instructions.  If you've never done a DFU, it may take about three attempts to get the timing right.

  • I forgot my restrictions passcode for my iPod touch and don't know what to do plzz help

How can I change a forgotten restriction passcode for iPod touch

If you can't remember the Passcode, restore the device from the computer it was last synced with by placing the iPod in reocvery mode.
Instructions here >  iOS: Unable to update or restore
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • How many times can I try for restriction passcode in ipad

    HI
I have forgotten restriction passcode and have already tried 12 times. Now it allows me to attempt after every 1 time. Though I have forgotten my password but I have a finite set of passwords. I am sure I will be able to crack after some 15/20 more times. Now do I stand a chance of my IPAD device permanently disabled after a certain no of times. I am ok with trying after every 1 hour as many times as possible but dont want to enter into a scenario where my device is permanantly locked. I dont have an itunes back up also so restoring from itunes is not there. Can I change the time and go on fooling the system?

If you are talking about Parental Control type of restrictions on the iPad, I believe that to be entirely iOS software level. You have 6 attempts before it locks you out for a minute. It then increases the locked-out time after further failed attempts. Since you have two failed attempts, it should let you have four more without consequence, which, if one goes through, all is well, if not, you will be locked out, before you can do a 7th attempt for 1 minute - to start with.If you fail the 7th time, it will increase the time to 5 minutes.

  • Finding my restriction passcode on ipad mini

I have a ipad mini and I don't know my restrictions passcode is so is there a way to figure it what it is without resetting your ipad mini

Not without some third party app that lets you see the contents of the iPad. You can't find it on the iPad itself anywhere.
An app like these two may work. Then you need to know how to find the file in the directory.
    http://www.iphoneexplorer.net/
    http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/
Look at the first few discussions in this Google search for more help in finding the code in the file system.
    https://www.google.com/search?q=resetting%20restrictions%20Passcode
If you are not successful with any of this, you have to restore the device as new - unless you have a backup that does not include the Passcode in which case you can restore from that backup to remove the Passcode.
