Hi, I'm having difficulties installing adobe flash player.

Managed to download the file (for update), typed in my Apple password and nothing happens
Read a few posts on how to solve this issue and decide to first uninstall the Adobe flash player (which was successful) but now I am unable to reinstall.  Still facing the same problem - typed in my Apple password and nothing happens...
Please help, thanks!

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.
If you're still stumped, you may need to reset the password on your Mac:

  • Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro?

Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5?

Thanks for your help here is what I did so far!
I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it, I've tried restarting my browser, then my MacBook Pro without any success!
When I click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and open System Preferences I can see Adobe Flash Player on the bottom under the Other section.
If I open Adobe up and check the version it tells me that I have the most recent version!
I even uninstalled Adobe and installed the newest Beta version, but Adobe is still not working! If I check for the latest version it tells me that I do have the latest beta version, but it still doesn't work!
If the person who made the video used any other video player it works!
Their player, plays the video without a problem!

You'll continue to have trouble, because...
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store.
These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

Having trouble installing adobe flash player on my mac

See: How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X
Unless you're using an older (PPC) Mac with OS 10.5 or older, those instructions should work.

  • Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed

Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1.  Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed.  I've tried quitting Safari.  Have not uninstalled currently Adobe as yet.  How to fix?

Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish".  It then directs me to troubleshooting.  I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.
    Hope that information helps.

"Ctrl+Shift+Esc" placing you into the Windows Task Manager, you need to be in the in the "Processes" tab to make sure that firefox.exe is no longer running -- if it is running then terminate it by selecting the use "End Process" button or from context menu. (That is a Windows 7 keyboard shortcut not in earlier versions of Windows)
There is a better way of ending Firefox, but it is too late for you to close firefox properly. Full set of directions to check and update flash.

'''Warning''': this is the Adobe site and they have chosen to to provide crapware along with their own product. Only install the product you were planning to install. Do not install additional products: including -- "Free! McAfee Security Scan Plus" or "Google Chrome". Installing Google Chrome on your own and installing it because it is offered on the Adobe site are two different things.

Some people will have a problem with Hardware acceleration, right-click in the flash area, click in settings..., then see if change setting makes a difference.

Thank you Adobe for a great product but you guys have a lot to learn about Mac users ...  I came across a multitude of posts identical to this one all over the web with all kinds of solutions to do this that and the other and lo and behold one of your users Stenr41480953 came up with the simplest solution to simply download from a site that works...way to go Adobe, you should buy lots of share of mac because they might just take over your company one of these days !

  • Having issues installing Adobe Flash Player.

Everything works then it says I have to close safari but it isn't open and won't complete installing. I get to about 97% and it won't go any further.
I'm using a Mac computer safari version 7.0.4
I went to the troubleshooting page and followed all the steps and ended up with the same result.  Does anyone have any ideas on where I'm going wrong?
    Thanks

It is not enough to close the Safari browser window, you need to close the Safari process.
If you don't know how to do that, restart your Mac, then run the downloaded installer before doing anything else.
