Hi i'm trying to import songs from my pc winxp to itunes all my other music is in itunes but these songs always end up in the "not added folder" they were in mp3 format

Hi ive tried and tried to import these files i downloaded 2 different converters they were in mp3 format i changed them to aac 2x but they wont import to itunes.
my ipod touch is running ios5 my pc is old but upto date its driving me MAD the files in question were on my samsung galaxy s2 i imported over a 1gb from my phone but these dam files!!!!!! someone please help me thanks in advance Neil

The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. If you can't get the exported .csv file to work you might consider using Migration Assistant: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2518, particular if you need to move more than just your contacts. There is some granularity in the options on what to transfer but I'm not sure if you can choose to just your migrate contacts.

I'm trying to import photos from my SD card into iPhoto, which I have done many times before, but now I'm not seeing the "Import All" button to start the import.

I have an iMac, with an SD card slot, equipped with iPhoto '11(v9.2.3), and until recently have imported photos from my SD card without problem. But now, after turning on iPhoto, and inserting my SD card, nothing happens, except that a "canon_dc" icon appears on my desktop. The "Import All" button no longer displays above my previously imported photos and I am, therefore, unable to complete the photo import. Has something changed?

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...

Trying to Import data from Microsoft Access in POWERPIVOT

I am trying to import data from Microsoft Access into Powerpivot. In my Access database I have several query's.
When I go to the Table Import Wizard in powerpivot, I only see one source table. Why can't I see the other query's?

Which Version of MS Excel / Power Pivot are you using? Do you try to Import from a MDB or from the new Format ACCDB? Are these common queries in MS Access or pass-through queries?
In common it should work, if I Import from a MDB I can see & select both, tables & views (queries):

Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.
Home sharing will then work

It sounds like you are using an application to import. You can do it manually.
Start > Computer (on the right) > scroll to the bottom and you will see your iPhone under Portable Devices > Open it and you will see a Drive, open that and there will be a DCIM folder. That is where your photos will be (There may be other folders each holding photos).

Do you have error correction turned on? (iTunes preferences - General - Import settings.) If so, it will take much longer to copy audio CD's.

Don't know how long it would take to import that many photos but if you stopped import and ejected the card ther is something else wrong here.
I would Force Quit iPhoto. Then Restart your mac. Then restart iphoto to see if any or all of your photos were imported. If they ae you're good to go. If they were not imported I would try importing fewer photos at a time and see what happens.

When I click on advanced-get track names it says Server Error. And when I import anyways and go to library and try to get info again it says can't connect to gracenote database or cddb is not available for some of these items. The import command only works with audio CDs. So if you burned the files in mp3 format, try instead using the "File > Add file to library" or "File > Add folder to library" commands.

Just downloaded Itunes 7 and am getting the following error while trying to import songs to my playlist from the library.

I have found a work around to this error message. I always found that when importing a CD it loaded the first track and could not do the rest. So I now import each track individually. The important thing to do is to make sure you stop the previously imported track from playing then the next track will import. It cannot play and import at the same time. To import a track highlight it by left clicking on it and then hold and drag it onto the music icon in the library. Once imported it will start to play. Stop it playing and then repeat the above for the next track. As long as you stop the track playing you can import. Takes longer, but at least you can get the CDs imported one track at a time. (Trust these instructions makes sense.)

If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

Sounds like an issue with the iPhoto Library
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I solved the above error by removing oscache***.jar file and keeping only oscache.jar in lib directory.
