If I buy Ipad with Cellular for AT&T, Can I use T-mobile sim?
If I buy Ipad with Cellular for AT&T, Can I use T-mobile sim?
Thanks Phil and Peter for your quick responses.. Add on what does "were bought subsidized" means.
I am planning to buy from Apple site Refurb item, so as per your comments it should accept any GSM sim even with Indian carriers and other USA carriers.
Thanks All. -
Using T-mobile sim on iPhone 3G
Hi all,
Now that Apple has allowed other networks on iPhone in UK, is it possibLE to now use a t-mobile sim on my phone.
I tried it but it did not work, I have been using O2 on it since I got it. Is there anyway I could start using my tmobile.
I have attempted to unlock the phone before, when I did it, I encountered problems when I upgraded the software via itunes and had to take it in to an Apple store.
I would be grateful for any advice on how to use my phone with tmobile, without encountering any problems.
Many thanks
Is.I have been using O2 on it since I got it.
Only the carrier that an iPhone is locked to can authorize the phone's official unlocking. In your case, O2 offers official unlocking, so contact them regarding the cost/procedure. -
Unlocked an AT&T BB 7290 to use T-Mobile SIM card but now "No Service"
After my trusty dusty blackberry 7290 quit on me I found another in "excellant condition" on ebay. It was locked to AT&T but I was able to enter the magic code and unlock it.
SIM card is now reporting Network: Inactive (which I understand means that it is now unlocked from AT&T
I inserted my T-Mobile SIM card (which worked in my previous 7290 and currently works in an old Nokia).
The phone opens with the AT&T logo. As I recall, my old(er) 7290 opened to the T-Mobile welcoms screen.
The current OS is v 4.0.2.56 (Platform 1.8.0.143)
I understand that an update to v 4.1.0.377 for T-Mobile exists, but I have yet not been able to locate it.
The Blackberry Desktop recognizes this as a model 7290, but when I click to [Update], it claims there is no newer OS version.
My main problem is it can't find any service. When I enable the wireless, it goes into searching for network mode, but then reports "No Service".
Other than the unlocking I think was done properly, are their any other steps needed to get this to work on T-Mobile? Is it a custom OS T-Mobile install that removed the At&t screen logo and replaced it with the TMO logo?BugMagnet wrote:
I am wondering whether or not re-flashing with the T-Mobile version will enable finding service. As of now, it reports "No Service" - So I am trying to figure out whether the problem lies with the OS, my settings/configuration, or...a bad receiver.
No idea. I'd wonder too.
But, you won't know until you load the other OS, right?
I gotta ask... why a 7290?

Can t-mobile Sim Works on ipad mini
can i use T-mobile sim on ipad mini
If your Netflix application under App Store - Purchased is showing that it is already Installed on your iPad - but does not show the Netflix App in your iPad then it is most probably with the App Restriction setting on your iPad. My App Restriction on iPad was set to age 4+ only. I had to change that restriction to allow all Apps.
This what you should do to remove the restrictions on iPad to show your Netflix App.
Tap on Settings > Under General, Tap on Restrictions > (enter your Passcode) > Scroll down to Allowed Content: Tap on Apps> Tap on Allow All Apps.
Now press your Start button and it should show the Netflix icon on your iPad. -
I have a local carrier number, if i by a contract-free iPhone 6 can i swap the T-mobile sim that will be in the phone with my local carrier sim? in other words, IS the contract-free iphone also unlocked so it can be used with any carrier?
The T-mobile phone is advertised to be SIM-free. This does NOT mean unlocked. Unlocked iPhone 6's are not yet for sale in the US.

Can I purchase an IPhone 5 that is factory unlocked, so that I can insert my t-mobile sim card and use it on my service from the apple store?
Not in the US, at the present time. Apple has not started selling officially unlocked iPhone 5's in the US, & has not announced when they will.

I currently have aT-Mobile sim, and therefore, a UK telephone number. Can I get a sim from EE with the same number to use in my iphone 5?
The easiest way to find out what carrier it's locked to would be to call the store where you purchased the phone.
The phone can be unlocked from any location. However, most carrier have restrictions about unlocking and you have to contact them for details. -
Is the contract-free iphone6 lock to the T-Mobile sim card or will i be able to use any other carrier sim card in the phone?
The phone is NOT locked.

if i bought an Iphone 6 from usa (contract free,T-mobile) can i use in srilanka (outside the usa) ?
and to activate it should i have t-mobile sim ?As Ethmoid says, it is still a CDMA phone as I told you earlier, and it will not work with t-mobile. Even if Sprint unlocked the phone, it would only unlock the GSM side for international use. They will not unlock the GSM side for domestic use in the US.

Can I use an iPhone 6 model A1549, bought in the USA and unlocked (T-mobile SIM) on O2 in the UK?
Brought my IPhone 6 A1549 model (unlocked Tmobile) whilst in the USA in September. I've been using it in the UK since October with absolutely no problems at all.

As for the warranty I made enquires at Apple and was told its worldwide any problems take it into any Apple store and it be repaired or Replaced. -
Can I use T-mobile's SIM card for iphone6?
I bought a unlocked iphone6 in Japan.
I'm planning to use it using T-mobile's nano SIM card with $30 a month plan.
1. Can I use T-mobile's SIM card for iphone6? The website(below) implies that it is not combatible with T-mobile.
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/sim-card
2. Although my iphone6 is from Walmart, can I use $30 a month plan? The website(below) mentions that "This plan is only available for devices purchased from Wal-Mart or devices activated on T-Mobile.com"
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans
If I buy and activate the nano-SIM card in the website, I can use $30 a month plan, can't I?
Thank you for your kind help! That is OK. To activate iPhone you need a SIM Card from the Carrier the iPhone is locked to. It takes just moments for iTunes to activate the iPhone, once activated you can put the SIM Card back into the 4S when you like.

German Iphone using in the US with T-Mobile Sim. Help!
I have a german IPhone 5 bought in 09/2012. use it with German O2 carrier. now i'm in the US and I bought a prepaid sim from T-Mobile. but it does not work who can help me. normaly there should not be a simlock, because I bought the Iphone directly at Apple without any contract
what can i do, it is important that I can use it
thanks for your helpYou have already activated the phone with the T-Mobile sim card in it, which is why the phone has become locked to T-Mobile and whilst the phone is locked to T-Mobile, there is no way to re-activate it with another sim card.
It is not silly at all and this is where you needed to have done your research in full and ask those questions about the differences between unlocked phones and sim free/contract free phones and then you would have found this out.
There is nothing else that you can do. What you need to do is contact T-Mobile in the US and tell them that you purchased the phone from the US Apple store and activated it with their sim card and the phone is now locked and request that they unlock it for you. They may do it, but mostly they may tell you that you need to wait 40 days before they will unlock the phone for you. Unfortunately, whilst you wait for the 40 days you won't be able to use the phone and there is absolutely nothing that you can do.
Also, if you are using this phone in Europe why on earth did you buy it in the US? If you knew that you wanted to use the phone in Europe, why did you not go and buy the phone in another European country? This would have made more sense, because countries like the UK sell unlocked phones in the Apple store and you will have EU warranty on the phone and you will most likely get 4G too, but with the phone you have now, you have found that you cannot use it and your warranty is only valid for the US and not the EU - iPhone warranty is not international.
There is nothing else that you can do now except contact T-Mobile in the US and request an unlock, but until they will unlock you will not be able to use the phone. -
I currently use 2 phones to make calls: one t-mobile locked phone for the US and one O2 locked phone for Germany, both without data plan.
Can I upgrade using just one phone (factory unlocked iPhone 3GS) and continue to use the existing SIM cards for phone calls (just switching the SIM cards when necessary), but use free WIFI spots worldwide for internet access/data transfer?
Thanks MichaelNo supported carrier, including T-Mobile in the U.S., permits the use of an iPhone without a data plan. Though it's technically possible to do it, if and when they find you, they will either charge you for a data plan or shut down your account.

How can i install my t-mobile sim card to iphone 4
how can i install my t-mobile sim card to an unlocked iphone 4 gsm i got for Christmas?
Power off the phone. Use a paper clip to pop out the Sim Tray. Insert a Micro-SIM from T-Mobile or a regular SIM cut down to size. Re-insert the SIM tray. Turn the phone back on.
Keep in mind that 3G data, Visual Voice Mail, MMS messaging, and FaceTime will NOT function correctly on T-Mobile in the US. Some people report getting MMS to work, but you'll need to contact T-Mobile for assistance. T-Mobile in the US is NOT a supported carrier. Their network is not fully compatible with the iPhone.
