Do you have any extensions? If so, see if it crashes if you turn extensions off.
You shouldn't have to reboot. Just use Force Quit to kill Safari. -
Why must I reboot my Mac to switch between iTunes libraries?
AppleTV 2 can always see the libraries but choosing "the wrong one" gives me the error message about not being able to connect.
We have two OS X user accounts, different iTunes libraries, both setup with the same AppleID. I have to reboot my Mac and launch the desired user's iTunes first in order for my AppleTV 2 to connect to whicever iTunes library I want. When I want to watch something from the other user's library I have to repeat the process but launch that other user's iTunes first.
Whichever user's iTunes gets launched first after a reboot is what AppleTV can use. Whichever iTunes gets launched secondly can't be used by AppleTV. User login order doesn't matter and logging out/in without a reboot won't help. Ethernet vs. WiFi doesn't matter. My 5th-gen AirPort Extreme isn't a variable here. None of Apple's suggested fixes work.
The above has been occuring for over a year, so the involved OSes are 10.6/10.7 and whatever applicable versions of iTunes and AppleTV 2 software (I stay current on everything.)And now it's currently working correctly and I didn't edit any settings anywhere.

I'm having a problem connecting my BlueRay DVD player and other non-Mac devices to my AirPort Express network. Is there a limit on the number of devices I can connect to the wireless network? I never have a problem connecting a new Apple product (AirBook, iPad) and even a basic laptop. Thanks for your help.
The AirPort Express Base Station (AX) can support up to ten (10) simultaneously connected Wi-Fi clients.

I have a 5 month old iMac running Lion and W7 with the latest version of boot camp . It has been operating flawlessly until I went to reboot into Mac tonight. Screen went black, and system is unresponsive. I've tried force quitting and turning power off. Hard drive starts, there's a small amount of drive activity and that's it.
Hi Jane, your info may still be there, look in the Users folder at root of the drive, how many users are there there?

When I reboot my mac it automatically launches disk utilities. i have run the utility. all clear. but each time i reboot i get the disk utility. how do i override so i can have my hard drive back?

To check to see if your software is up to date, go to >Software Update and you can check for updates.
No idea why your Mac is slow--there could be a variety of things that could cause slowness. A good start would be to see if all your RAM is recognized. >About this Mac will show you how much RAM you have. You can also open Activity Monitor and check your RAM usage.
Also, how full is your hard drive? You should have a minimum of 10% free space for the OS to operate properly, and 15% to 20% is better.
No idea why you have to reboot to connect to the internet, but it could be related to the slowness. Rebooting will free up RAM among other things.
Which MBP do you have and which version of the OS are you running? -
I am having trouble getting mail from the shaw server that my new iMac is connected to. I have to reboot the system to get Outlook for Mac to access the system and obtain new messages. Any ideas? Its at the point where I have started using the PC again as its less trouble.......
In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />

You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy -

No. But I would anyway just to start fresh without a lot of applications running and taking up processor and memory. It does not hurt to reboot.

I got a new Mac Pro and I am using my 30 inch cinema display. It has been flickering grey sometimes and then will stay grey and lock up my computer and I have to reboot... this is very annoying..help. iTunes is not stable is the simple answer to why this happens. Get use to it. It has happened to me about 5 times... It just happened again to me when trying to download Mama in HD, even though I have a 2012 Mac Mini 2.6GHz quadcore i7, 16 GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and the Thunderbolt Display to boot. And iTunes support has never been helpful on this for me (in fact, support told me it's because my new Mac Mini wasn't capable of playing HD content! ***?), or helpful on any iTunes related problems I have had. Their support team knows very very little about anything. I will tell you though, that everytime it happens, I just go to my library where I have a few HD movies already on my hard drive, and I play one of those without any issue. After doing that, I go back to the Store and I am able to rent the HD film. Don't know why; maybe it resets the glitch somehow... oh, and Airplay is super unstable too, on my Mini, MBP, and wife's new MBA. I have to reboot my computer to get it to feed the audio with the video 50% of the time. Apple has been becoming a disappointment after disappointment...

Everytime I turn on Outlook, it kills my internet connection and I have to reboot the router
As the title says, each time I turn on Outlook with Office 365, it kills my internet connection and I have to reboot the router. I can still login to the router admin and do a soft reboot. This kills the internet for all the computers on my network as well.
The weird exception to this is when I'm connected to my work VPN, then everything is fine. Also, should be noted, it never did this at first...then started doing it randomly and stopped after a while...now a few months later, it started doing it agian.
Is there some sort of weird port forwarding I should be using?
I'm running through an Exchange server.
Windows 7 Pro
Router is a D-Link 857 - HD Media Router 3000..running latest firmware.
Everything is setup standard. No firewalls except the standard Windows firewall and the router is a really basic config.
Please any insight would be great!

Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly
Your Mac may not not stay connected to your Wi-Fi network reliably.
Your Mac may stop accessing the Internet during use.
Solution
Use these steps if your computer disconnects from its Wi-Fi network unexpectedly.
Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference.
If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.

Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router or ISP. In that case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.

TBird V31.2.0: Windows 7 home premium with service pack 1: hp pavilion dv7 laptop.
Intermittently, TB hangs and I can't kill it with normal close, or process explorer, or task manager. I have to reboot to get a clean copy of TBird to view my mail.
Problem is chronic (about a 2 to 4 months). I updated TB several weeks ago but no joy.
The green bar (lower right) that indicates download progress is at max extent and stays their when the problem exists.
Error msg. appearing with attempt to kill TB says roughly - the instance of TB in not functioning. Kill it or reboot. Its a real pain to reboot. If someone could give me a clue to at least kill the hung instance of TB that would be a great help. I've been using TB for years on at least two computers and never ran into this before.

My Ipad2 worked perfectly before ios6 upgrade. It now freezes occasionally and I have to reboot to get it to work. Also the WSJ app will now freeze if I try and run one of their videos that is imbedded in the article. My only work-around is to stop (press done) before the end of the video or I have to do a total reboot. The problems remind me of Windows ME . Will Apple resolve these issues or become more like Microsoft. Hopefully there will be a restore button in the future like Microsoft was forced to do because a lot of upgrades are just terrible. Am I crazy or are there other people having the same issues with ios6, or could this just be a coincidence and my ipad2 is starting to fail just when ios6 arrives ?
I know this will not help but, the bluetooth headset I purchased for my wife works great and it pairs with our car and our sound bar in the livingroom (Motorola Droid Razr) 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US
However I did not upgrade over the air but from a android web site and placed it on my external sd card. I believe this made the difference in why we had no issues and upgraded functionality has been great.
Please note when I mention these bluetooth devices I mean the Razr connects with no problems.
It also had no internet issues and none of the problems others have complained about in other threads.
unfortunately when you say thousands have these issues I cannot say that is accurate. The hope is when large numbers of owners have updated to the Jelly Bean and are complaining inmase then Motorola will issue a patch to verizon to get out to the affected users.
Of course now that Google owns Motorola Mobility and has laid off loads of workers it may never issue an os patch.
