Hi - I own a CanoScan 8800F scanner. I need help, I want to scan about 200 registrations.

As a membership secretary I receive about 200 registrations over a two month period. How can I scan them in and index them? Is there a software that will work with my CanoScan 8800F that will facilitate this?
Thanks, Bill

The instructions Lucia gave you were correct. It seems you have a Basic trial account (5 forms). You can just delete the forms you are not using so you can create more. Can you explain in more detail how those instructions above didn't work? I think there is some confusion so any details you can provide will help clear it up.

  • Mavericks X 10.9.4 does not recognize Canoscan 8800f scanner

I was previously using my Canoscan 8800f scanner. I had Canon on the phone for 30 minutes trying to resolve my scanning issue. I download all of the drivers necessary (see below) but I get a "Fatal Exception" message when opening the Canon Navigator. The Canon Support representative could see all of the appropraite software was installed, yet the Mac was not recognizing my scanner. The scanner was plugged into two different USBs with no success. The support rep suggested either get a new USB cord or call Apple. Hel
    1) File Name: msd_-mac-8800f-13_9_2a-ej7.dmg
This file is a TWAIN-compliant scanner driver for Canon color image scanner.
    2)
    File Name: mmno-mac-mpnv10-1_0_0a-en.dmg
In OS X v10.7/10.8/10.9/10.10, you will need to set up MP Navigator EX 1.0 Opener with Image Capture before scanning using the Operation Panel or Scanner Buttons on the machine.
    3)
    File Name: mnve_1_0-mac-all-1_0_8-ej7.dmg
This application software allows you to scan, save and print photos and documents. You can also edit images, or attach images to e-mail using this application software.

Check in the Mac App Store to see if there are any new drivers for it. If not then try using Image Capture (already installed on your iMac) and attempt to scan from that. If you have never use IC then please click Mac Basics: Using a scanner - Apple Support for instructions.
If the scanner still cannot be seen then it's not directly compatible with OS X and you will need to buy a tool such as VueScan.

  • Ibook won't boot up on own or from OS installation CD (need help in Yemen)

    Hello,
I'm currently in Yemen for a few months and my ibook seems to have died on me. The country isn't exactly brimming with Apple support technicians so any advice or suggestions people could give me would be really appreciated.
I have an older ibook (dual USB G3 which I bought in June 2001). It has the occasional application or OS freezes, but typically restarting solves these. Yesterday, however, when I tried restarting the computer wouldn't boot up - it would get to the gray start up screen with the apple and spinning wheel and would just sit there with no progress even after an hour. I removed the airport card and extra RAM, but no luck.
I ran the Apple Hardware Check CD, but everything came up clean. I also ran Norton Utilities Disk Warrier and it found Major Errors in some of the directories (I have the list at home if that would help) all of which it said it fixed. However, it wasn't able to complete checking the HD, at one point it tried to find some files and never was able to get any further in the check - it would just sit for hours with no progress. When I tried rebooting the computer on its own it got no further than a gray screen.
At this point I decided it might be easiest just to reinstall the opperating system. I put in the installation disks (OS 10.2.4) and tried booting up from the CD - the boot up was very slow and ultimately (maybe after 10 minutes) instead of a gray screen with an Apple logo it came up with the "forbidden symbol" (i.e. the circle with the slash through it that you see on no smoking signs).
At this point I'm not quite sure what to since it isn't booting up from the installation CD - are there any other tricks I could try or reason why it won't boot up from the CD? I also have a copy of 10.4 installation CD but I'm hesitant to install it just because the ibook is such an old computer and it would require the extra RAM to run it (currently I have 300 something of RAM in the computer). I also have a 20 GB external harddrive with me if there's anyway I could boot up with it.
Three years ago the laptop had major problems and basically died, but went into Apple and seemed to have been fixed and had the logic board replaced. After this point I got a new laptop (which I'm hiting myself for not bringing with me at this point) and haven't really used this computer frequently - maybe 5 to 10 times in the last 3 years, it really is a "spare" laptop. I used it for about a week before coming and it seemed to be working fine.
At this point I'm really open to any suggestions on how to fix and jury rig it to work for the next 3 months (really I just need to be able to use Word and iPhoto) or so as I won't be using it once I get back to the States. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciate. Thank you very much!!

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Which utility did you use on the iBook? Was it Norton DiskDoctor or Alsoft's DiskWarrior? They are two entirely different things.
Norton DiskDoctor was developed for OS 9. It doesn't recognize OS X as a legitimate operating system, identifies OS X as "errors" on your drive, and sets about "fixing" those errors, really messing things up in the process. (It does this even if you run it in OS 9 on a drive that has OS X on it.)
Apple calls the sign you are seeing when trying to boot from the CD a "prohibitory sign."
Check out this Apple Knowledge Base article on what to do about a prohibitory sign at startup:

    Maybe something there will help.

  • Scan slides on Canoscan 8800F/Mac OS 10.8.5

I am not a techie and would like advice on scanning slides with Canoscan 8800F, Mac OS10.8.5. I have been told this can be done in Preview but there doesn't seem to be a slide option and the slide shows up as opaque black, likewise don't see any slide option in Image Capture. Have downloaded MP Navigator EX but get list of supported models which does not include 8800F and need to install correspondent MP Navigator or MP Navigator EX and driver/scanner driver which supports my product model (have already downloaded driver which is supposedly correct). I'm very confused, will probably go for Vuescan option, but welcome any advice. (And why isn't there a scanner section in this forum?)

Call AppleCare. That is the best suggestion I can make.
    Best.

My 12 year old Canoscan 8800f has suddenly stopped working. When I press the power button a light comes on inside, but after a bit of whiring it goes out and the scanner switches off. Is there a solution or should I buy a new scanner?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I would still get a new one.  They aren't too expensive and they have added a lot of features such as LED bulbs and instant on.

  • Why did my CanoScan 8800F stop scanning my 35mm slides into IPhoto 09 version 8.1.2 (424)?  I did it exactly the same way as I had done about two hundred other slides.

I had been using my CanoScan 8800F unit to transfer 35mm slides into digital pictures within my IPhoto 09, Version 8.1.2 (424).
All of a sudden it stopped transferring photos even though I could hear it scanning.  Any ideas "why/"

I guess I will wrap this up. I have abandoned iPhoto and viewing my Photo Streams using it and moved to Adobe products (Bridge + PS). So that's that.

  • How do I install Canoscan film scanner on macbook using external disc drive?

How do I install a CanoScan film scanner using external disc drive ?

sorry, not being very clear. I have the scanner and am trying to instal the operating  programme onto my new macbook. It was fine on my 6 year old one! I put the setup disc in the external drive. I can now get it to load 80% but it then stops. I have then tried to eject the disc - it won't let me as it says it is still setting up - but after 2 hours still says the same and clearly is doing nothing. I can't quit the setup programme - the only way I finally managed to quit was to to force quit the computer to shutdown and then when I start up again I can eject the disc.
Any idea how I make it load the 20% of the setup that it is currently refusing to do?

  • 64-bit Twain driver for Canon Canoscan 8800F

The twain driver for my Canon Canoscan 8800F doesn’t show under File-->Import in Photshop Elements 13.  In Photshop Elements 10 this was not a problem. I have searched on
the internet and the instructions I found only applies to older version of Photshop Elements.
    What should I do? I use a PC with Windows 8.1 64-bit.

    Hi Stefan,
TWAIN plug-in: The plug-in is no longer available on 64-bit Windows computers.

  • Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

This is not true.  I've been using my 8400F with Mavericks since it was released.  However, mine was an upgrade from 10.8, so whatever drivers Canon installed when I bought the scanner several years ago continues to work.  And my new Mac Pro that I used Migration Assistant with also works with the scanner.  However, the other Mac Pro that was a clean install can't see the scanner and Canon's site claims there are no drivers.

  • CanoScan 9000F scanner won't work on my MacBook Pro even though it should be compatible with the Mac 10.7.2 OS.

My new CanoScan 900F scanner won't work on my MacBook Pro even though I've followed all instructions to make it compatible with the 10.7.2 OS. The USB connection isn't recognised. What else con I do?

I have a similar problem with a new CanoScan 9000F which I tried to use without any success on my desktop computer (Mac Pro 5,1) and laptop (Macbook Pro 1,2) both running OS 10.6. Problem is identical on both, viz:
        •    Scanning process appears to start, a message comes on the screen: Scanning do not open document cover followed by Scanning...
        •    This is then replaced by the message: Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off. Check status. Scanner driver will be closed. 2.155.33
I've spent several hours on the phone with Canon support but having uninstalled/installed/reinstalled/updated/turned on/turned off/unplugged/plugged/restarted innumerable times, the problem is exactly the same. The scanner icon shows up in the Printer & Fax System Prefs (though without the little status lights) and shows as being connected in the USB tree. I think it's a problem with the scanner, Canon bods are suggesting the Macs are at fault and suggest I try connecting to a wintel (hawk, spit) and it's 100km to the nearest Canon service centre.
Any suggestions as to what might be the problem/s and what I might be able to do to fix it/them?
    Thanks.
By the way, bought the Canon to replace a HP Scanjet 8300 which I've used for 6 years almost without problems. Any that I have had have been fixed merely by turning the scanner off then on after a 10 second rest.

  • Importing from canoscan 8800 scanner

Brand new to Aperture. A very basic question. I have a photo that I want to scan from the canoscan scanner and import it into the Aperture library. Can I do this without saving it first in the software folder that came with the canoscan? If so, how?

Thank you. I have many old photos that I need to scan to the computer. I understand that once they are on the hard drive I can import them. What software would you use to scan the photos to the computer?

  • I loaded Mountain Lion and now my Canon Canoscan LIDE100 Scanner won't work. I reloaded the application, checked the driver & loaded the Canon driver for Mountain Lion. Aplication starts to load then hangs up on 80% complete.   Any suggestions?

I loaded Mountain Lion and now my Canon Canoscan LIDE100 Scanner won't work. I reloaded the application, checked the Cannon website for the correct driver & loaded the Canon driver for Mountain Lion. Aplication starts to load then hangs up on 80% complete.   Any suggestions?

Might have a hardware issue that was caused by the minor liquid spill.
Take it to Apple to have them look at it.  I think they do a free diagnostics.  That way you can find out what's wrong with your MB.
Good luck....Hope you get it sorted out.

  • Need help choosing a printer/scanner - any help appreciated!

I have a Pixma MP560 printer and a Canoscan 9950F scanner. My printer is having issues and was told by support need to replace it. My Canoscan 9950F scanner hasn't been used in years (hardly ever used before either) but it is no longer supported and doesn't work with Yosemite (no updated available). I want to scan hundreds of photos from my photo albums (and also have a good printer). What is the best all-in-one printer/scanner to do this? I want good quality scans on my photos and am not sure what resolution I need (was told should scan at 300 DPI - is that right?) - the quality of these photos is important in case I would want to print them out in the future, etc. Can I get by with an all-in-one printer/scanner or am I best off going with a cheaper printer and getting another canoscan? The ink cartridges for the MP560 are relatively expensive also - and found that cheaper refilled cartridges cause harm to the printer. What is my best options for this set-up without costing an arm and leg for print cartridges, etc. Thanks in advance for any and all opinions/help and feel free to ask any other questions - Oh, I use a Macintosh computer also.

Hello. The most comparable replacement to the MP560 would be the PIXMA MG6620.  This unit will be able to perform high quality photo printouts, document printouts and also perform scans.  More information on this unit can be found at this link. If you plan on scanning film, our latest film scanner would be the CanoScan 9000F Mark II.  More information can be found at this link. This didn't answer your question or issue? • CanoScan 88))F driver needed for Snow Leopard

I need a Driver for the Canon CanoScan 8800F. It does not work with the system. I checked ith Caon and there isn't a driver for it. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Looking at the Canon Australia web site, there is a version 13.9.1 driver posted for the CS8800F that quotes 10.6 as being supported.
