Hi, I've just ordered a 13" MacBook online, how long do Apple take to send a confirmation email?
As the title explains, I'm yet to receive an email of confirmation for my placed order of a MacBook. Does anyone know when I can expect the email?
When I ordered my Macbook pro online my confirmation email took appoximately 2 working days. Depending on when you ordered it online (say a friday) you won't be expecting a confirmation email untill the following week. Keep following the order on your Apple ID and/or email and you should expect it soon no later then a week.

I just unwrapped my new iMac just being delivered by UPS and after removing all the wrapping I noticed deep scratches on the aluminium front and a big dent on the metal frame surrounding the screen. Obvioulsy it fell in the Apple assembly process or a heavy thing fell on it. I am so crossed as it took already 7 days to arrive and I now need to spend time trying to get it replaced one way or another, I believe this will take weeks before I get a replacement iMac and I am not sure in which state this new one will arrive. Very frustrating experience. I am hesitating to cancel the whole thing.
IF you bought it from apple, you can bring it back to apple for a full refund or exchange. You can also call apple support to request for a mail-in box so you can return the item. if on the other hand it is an apple authorize reseller, kindly contact them for exchange/refund. They will give you an option on whether they will give you a label to help you send back the item to them or take it to the store.

I just got a used ipod and how long will it take to sync?
i just got a ipod touch (used)and it allready had music on it so i restored it and now its syncing my music from my old ipod into it but its been backing up for about 6 hours and then it said "itunes was unable to load data class information from sync services" what do i do?

I have just ordered a new macbook
using the apple finance option which i guess means that it will be ordered early nest week and shipped in 10 days or so. Im guessing that after the upgrade of the mbpros the same will happen to the macbooks. How long will I have to change it if they upgrade the processor or will they do it automatically?

Ps I currently have a macbook pro from when they first were released at the beginning of the year and have nothing but probs with it so want to go back to something similar but better than my old ibook!!Lots of people will be so dissapointed when MB introduces the Core 2 Duo. That's so funny - people don't realize that the differences are absolutelly minimal. Doing basic stuff won't make any difference. If you're doing something that's very CPU intensive - you may shave off second or two using Core 2 Duo. It all looks good on paper, but has anyone actually seen the difference in real life?
I've read some articles in PC magazine - they said that Core2Duo isn't really faster than CoreDuo - especially when it comes to mobile CPU's.
I could have waited to purchase my MB until Core2Duo comes out - but I knew better! There aren't MB useres that could actually notice the difference. Just read the articles on the web CoreDuo vs Core2Duo - you'll laugh -
I've erased and formatted the hard drive accordingly in order to reinstall OS X. everything went fine until about half way through the install. it just seems to stop. how long should this take? should i do something else to speed it up?
About all you can do is wait until it finishes or you get an error message.

BillConnect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) or use an external hard drive formed Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

How long does it take for a store to process an online order for store pick up
Hello,
I placed an order for a Macbook Pro on November 11, 2014. Scheduled an in store pick up where Best Buy estimated pick up date is November 14. I didn't receive the email or text to pick up the item, so I decided to call 1-800-best-buy to see if I can get the new estimated pick up date. I was told by the representative the laptop is actually already at the store, and waiting for me to pick it up. I called the store to make sure, and was told that I can pick it tomorrow morning. I called in today was placed on hold for around 15 minutes. Decided to call 1-800-best-buy again, and found out that it will take another 3-5 days before I get my laptop. I asked the representative to change the pick to another store that has the laptop available right now. It was change since around 10 am in the morning. I called the store to make sure that they got my order, the Manager told me that once the truck deliver more laptop. I will be able to get mine, and I should call in the afternoon to check on the availablity. I called around 5 pm to check, and was told that even if there is a laptop. I would still need to wait until best buy process my order. Called 1-800-best-buy again, and was told that Apple usually take 3-4 for hours to verify the information. Right now, my order status is still "Preparing Order".
My Questions: How long will it take for Best Buy to finish Preparing Order?
Why does it show on the website that if I order by 8 PM I wil be able to pick up the laptop today. Meanwhile, the store pick up was transfered since 10 am this morning, and at 10 PM tonight still nothing.
If I cancel my order, will I get all of my reward zone certificates back?Hello sourlime,

How long does it take to delete an old user/administrator from my MacBook Pro? Hours/Days?
I just bought a new 2011 MacBook Pro and I want to give my late 2006 MacBook Pro to my niece for college. It's in near-perfect condition.
I'm trying to delete all of my user info and files. I went ahead and created an account for her as an "administrator". Then, I logged off from my account, logged in as her and then tried to delete my old account under System Settings / Accounts.
I got as far as to remove the user account and to delete the home folder for my old user account. Now it says "Deleting account..." under my user name. It's been this way for about 6 hours.
I have no way of knowing how long it takes, but does anyone know if it takes hours? A full day? With no status bar to indicate the deletion process, I have no way of knowing if my old computer is "stuck" or if it's actually working. I have yet to try and stop the process for fear of screwing something up. But if anyone has any idea how long this might take, I'd appreciate it so I can move on and do other things while this computer just "does its thing".

The late 2006 is running on OS X Lion (10.7).
As for the "Activity Monitor", where would I find that? I tried to search for it...but nothing popped up.
I did, however, "get info" on the hard drive icon and noticed that the available disc space has gotten bigger, which would indicate to me that there have been some program and file deletions during the course of the day. In fact, when I started the process, there was only about 50Gb of disc space available. But, it seems like that number has doubled, which indicates to me the disc space is slowly freeing up.
Again, it would be nice to some how know how long it would take. Maybe this "activity monitor" is something I can find and see.

Since I have to get it fixed and I'm a college student and need my laptop asap, I just want to know how long it will take for my screen to get fixed so I can go back to doing my work.
No one here could possibly know... you'll have to take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP to even begin to get an idea as to how much time it could take to fix your machine.
I had to wait 10 days just to get fans replaced on my old MacBook Pro...

Under order status, it says "Processing".
I was wondering how long it would take before the order goes through? Or the status atleast changes from "Processing" to "Shipping" or something...

☺ ♥ Yes I'm using Logic Studio on Lion right now. It all works fine in full 64bit Kernal and application mode. Although, none of my 3rd part plugins work. And my Novation 25SL MKII only works as a midi keyboard, its automap software does not work in Lion(yet).
I was also going to purchase Komplet 7 and NI Maschine this weekend. But could not, as niether work in Lion yet either.
So, if I was you, I would stick to Snow Leopard, until all the other software, hardwar and plugins are brought up to date to support Lion in 64bit mode.

How long b4 Apple does something about WiFi not workin on BRAND NEW macbook
I've got a brand new Macbook Pro and I feel very stupid about buying it, as I can't use WiFi in 9 out of 10 places I go. Never had this problem with my G4 and all the other people who go to these same WiFi hosposts don't seem to have a problem. Honestly, I've tried every trick, every suggestion on every post on every forum. NOTHING solved the problem.How long before Apple addresses the problem?
When I had the wireless upgrade kit installed into my PowerMac G5 Quad, it suffered exactly the same problems. Dropped connections at random, yet my original PowerMac G5, sitting right next to the Quad, full signal every time.
Apple tech support couldn't shed any light on it, so I performed an erase and install. Completely wiped my hard drive and reinstalled from scratch.
Wireless worked perfectly from there on, still does, no problem.
With the 2 MBP's, I performed an erase and install prior to using the machine proper and neither have had wireless problems. The 15 inch was returned due to a grainy screen and I upgraded to 17".
All I can suggest, from my own experience, is to back up your user data etc, perform an erase and install, log into your network during first start up after reinstall. Worked fine for me. -
