Pelotero,
Create a new playlist by using the command File > New Playlist.  It will show up under the name "untitled playlist," which you can immediately change to the name you want.
Click its new name to open the playlist.  Then drag the folder of songs into the open pane.  Each song in the folder will be added to the playlist, and to the library if it is not already there.
As you see, there is no sorting required.  Try it once with a folder of 3-4 songs so you can see how it works.

I just got a new computer and want to import my music from my ipod classic and keep my current play lists. How do I do this?

You can go to the pictures folder on your old computer and copy the "iPhoto library" file and copy it to a thumb drive or something like that and then just open it on your new Mac.

  • My ipod was set up on a Mac. Now I have a PC and want to sync my music on iTunes, but I can't without reformatting my drive and losing my music.

My ipod was set up on a Mac. Now I have a PC and want to sync my music on iTunes, but I can't without reformatting my drive and losing my music. Help. I no longer have a Mac. I want to keep the music and videos I purchased. Since it is an iPod classic (80GB) I cannot even use the iCloud. Is there a way to move my ipod's music so I can reformat it to my pc?

WIndows is asking you to reformat the iPod's hard disk because it's probably in the Mac OS X Extended Journaled file system format which the Windows OS can neither read or write to.  Reformatting will erase all content from the device and rebuild the filesystem as FAT32 unless you specify it as NTFS (which you shouldn't do).
If you want to be able to use your iPod to copy music from your Mac to your PC, you'll need to either pre-format it as FAT32 using Disk Utility on your Mac and then copy everything over to your PC, or use third party software such as XPlay that allows a Windows PC to read and write to a Mac formatted iPod.
Perhaps you could take a look at this article for other ways to copy your iTunes library and files from your Mac to the PC.

  • I'm having difficulty importing purchased music from iTunes store to my new MacBook Air

I am having difficulty importing purchased music from iTunes to my new MacBook Air

What problem are you having ?
You should be able to copy your library from your old computer : How to move your iTunes library to a new computer. Or if both computers are connected to the same wifi network then you could use home sharing to copy it over. Or copy it from your backup of your downloads/library and add it via File > Add To Library.
You might also be able to redownload some/all of your past purchases via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage,or by going into iTunes > Preferences (command-comma) and ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tickbox - it might then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for redownloading.

  • Want to import entire music library from iTouch to new HP laptop

I have an iPod iTouch with a music library of about 2500 songs and I have a new HP Pavillion DV6000 Entertainment notebook computer (which runs Vista). My original iTunes library is in my desktop (which runs XP). The iTunes n the desktop is the one the iPod is officially affiliated with. Apple policy states that an iPid can only be affilaited with one computer. I want to import the entire music library (not just songs purchased through iTunes store) from my iPod iTouch into the empty iTunes library on the new notebook. I've heard mention of iGadget, iRepo and IpodAccess but I don't know how to use these to get what I want. Can anybody give input or specific directions to help me?

  • I want to import my music library to a new PC with my ratings intact

I have a new PC.  I have my music library in a folder on the new PC and I want to import it to I tunes on the new PC with my ratings intact.  Keeping the song ratings is the critical piece.  How can I do that?

Do you have the iTunes Library.itl file? Ratings and other important information about your library is held in that file. If you restore a backed up library properly there is no "import" phase to go through.

  • I want to purchase some music from itunes but I'm being told when I do all my old music will be removed once I add the new music

I want to purchase more music for my ipod nano from itunes and I'm being told that if I do the cds I have put on my ipod will be deleted and all of my older music will be gone. Is this correct?

To import your photos to iPhoto, open the app on oyur computer, then connect your iPad. wait for it to show up on the left toolbar and you can select all and import them to your iPhoto library. Drag and drop it to your desktop or wheverever you want them. Is it just photos you wanted to import?

  • I am wanting to sync my music with iTunes but it says if i sync you will loose everythink cause it was synced with another libiary help?? will i loose everythink if i sync

I am wanting to sync my phone on iTunes to transfer photos and music from my phone onto computer. It comes up saying "ALL exisintg photos and music on iphone will be erased with content on iTunes but i have nothing on iTunes. Will i look everythink if i agree to sync??

If this is a new library, then yes, the content on the device will be erased and replaced with content from the new library.
The iDevice is not a backup device... it is not designed to be used to move media from one computer to another.
iDevices are designed to sync to one and only one computer at a time.

  • Import purchased music to iTunes

Hi! I just bought a new iMac, but I'm having some problems getting the old music I purchased into the new iMac. I can see a list over all the music, but not an option to import it to iTunes. Can anyone help me? Thank you

There are two reasons for FCP. Maybe only one for iMovie.
    1. You do not buy the music from iTunes and you do not own the music. If you read the agreement you made when you created your iTunes account, you will see what you actually are purchasing when you do a download. Thus in regard to FCP, which is considered a professional application, FCP will not allow the use of such rights restricted material on the reasonable assumption that the user will be selling or attempting to sell or offer to sell the FCP project.
    2. Regardless of source or whatever was "purchased" in regard to audio, FCP sound tracks will accept and allow rendering of audio at 48kHz only. That technical requirement excludes the iTunes format which arrives at your CPU at 44kHZ as well as compressed as well as mp3 etc. etc.
iMovie has no such limit. But it is very likely some real owners of the tunes on iTunes may have incorporated encoding that restricts the use to one "save" (the download).
    3. Yes you can attempt to circumvent the agreement regarding iTunes material, including the ones mentioned on the iMovie forum. But keep in mind that when you manage to do that, the final product is merely a 48kHz version of a compressed audio file. Lots of audio information is missing. Some folks hear it, some folks cannot, and some do not care.
    4. In the case of iMovie (or FCP) the big cheat is when one either sells, offers to sell, or allows the Movie (FCP) project to be used in connection with revenue generation and that project contains stuff you down loaded(and converted) from iTunes and do not have permission( always with a fee) from the actual owner. This includes iMovie projects (FCP project)to be used in connection with generating a flow of money for whatever cause whether or not you the video maker keeps the money.
The music is owned by its creator and whomever rights to that property were assigned. iTunes does not and cannot offer the actual property.

I want to import a cd without gaps

The only progressive video that FCE supports directly is 720p25 and 720p30.
FCE has never supported 24fps material
There are workarounds for importing & using 1080p material that were frequently discussed in this forum about a year ago.  Try searching the forum.
