Hi, I want to restore/reinstall my iPhone 4s to the latest IOS
I want to restore/reinstall my iPhone 4s to the latest IOS that i can have pages and stuff to use on my iphone when im away from my laptop.
If you have an iPhone 4s and you are updating, then it won't automatically install Numbers and Pages etc. You need to update and then install these yourself manually.
The automatic install was only available for the iPhone 5s and 5c at launch if I remember.

It sounds like you had been updating the phone and now it is in recovery mode. Take a look at this info first:
If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself.
If you are unable to get out of Recovery Mode, use the following article to restore your device with iTunes:

Was updating my iPhone 4 to the latest ios and now stuck in recovery mode.
Was updating my iPhone 4 to the latest ios 5.1 (i believe) and a error message came up (didn't make a note of the error code sorry) but now phone is stuck in recovery mode with the USB wire and iTunes logo on. PC wont reconise iPhone when plug it in either. I had to delete an old back up before the update as i didn't have enough space on PC to do the update before but was told that during the update it backs up again anyway. I have looked in Device backup's and there is nothing there I have a feeling i'm going to have to restore it but hopefully there is another way as i wont be left with anything on the phone.
Any help please.
Many Thanks.Sorted it now, took it to Apple store and explained etc. was nothing could do but restore the phone. Was told to make sure itunes on PC was up-to-date version before updating iphone which could have caused the error.

i updated my iphone 4s to the latest ios ( 6.1.3 ) and afte the update i found the wifi is grayed .. any help is really appreciated
This is most often a severe hardware fault of the WiFi Chip. But steps to try are, Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if fixed. If not, Restore iPhone with iTunes on your computer. See if fixed. If not, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

Every time I connect my iPhone to iTunes on my mac it alwasys says iPhone can not sync because sync session failed to start. What do I do to fix this problem?(It's an iPhone 4s with the latest IOS 7.0.2

I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?

If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.

This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone. -
"Photos in the Camera Roll of "(your) iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode. You must unlock the device to import them." That's the new error message when I plug in my iPhone 5 running the latest iOS 7.1 into the MacBook Pro running iPhoto '11 v.9.4.3. My Mac OSX is still 10.8.5.
So, I unlock the iPhone by entering the "passcode" before I plug it into the MBP and still iPhoto does nothing. At least it doesn't issue the error message above.
I've checked both iPhoto preferences and those for Photos and Camera in the Settings on the iPhone. There doesn't seem to be anything to change this lack of connectivity.
What next please?An hour-long phone discussion with Apple Support yesterday solved this question and sorted a couple of others.
As for this one, do not ignore any messages which pop up when you plug in your iPhone and ask "Trust this computer?". The correct reply is "Yes", not "Cancel".
OK, you cancelled like I did, thinking "What on earth is this for?". Mistake. You can force the issue by having iTunes open when you next plug in your iPhone. Tell the iPhone that it can trust its old friend, your computer and voila! Your photos can download into iPhoto again.

I am trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 to the latest iOS via iTunes, but I keep getting a message saying that an error [-5000] occurred and continuing will delete all content on my iPhone. What's the solution?
okay I've done everything regarding the transfer process (via file>transfer purchases) and syncing, so everything on my iPhone device seems to have been transferred to my iMac... however, I still get that message ("There are purchased items on the iPhone..."), trying to upgrade the iOS Have tried several times the same process of hitting transfer purchases via file, but nothing seems to make that message go away! Would have been nice to know which files I actually do need to transfer, which I don't get any info on of course...
Starting to get really annoying this thing.. Any smart suggestions what's going on? -

If your XP computer was updated, then it should work. Again, the links I posted earlier contain the current USB drivers for the iPhone and Windows. -
I have yet to update my iPhone 4 to the latest iOS software. How do I save photos to my iCloud photo stream that were taken before I activated my iCloud account and photo stream ?
You have a couple of options:
Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot. This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll. This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once. Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll. These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream. (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.) -
Restoring/activating iphone 3gs on the latest ios

That happened to me.
Simply restore your phone from iTunes, then back up with your saved data.
That should work fine, and that worthless iOS6 will be installed unfortunately. -
I was updating my iphone 4 to the latest iOS and computer crashed
Now it wants to restore to factory settings. I did sync before updating but now it is stuck on restoring and isn't progressing at all. How long should I wait before I freak out? It has been almost half a hour and the bars aren't moving at all
An hour later and still hasnt done anything, or moved at all. Anyone got any ideas?

I updated via my laptop and always kept the latest version on there.
I may delete my iTunes and then re-install just to make sure it is the most up to date version but I am 99% sure it is.
The update for my phone has worked...it is running off the iOS6.0.1 but just without all my old data (as I didnt back it to iCloud but iTunes instead).
Also, as of about 10 minutes ago my iTunes isn't functioning properly.
Will see if re-installing iTunes helps or not, seems like my files are gone for good though.
I am getting the iPhone 5 next week, hence my last minute rush to update all software...seems to have backfired somewhat! -

I have an iPhone 4 and am running 5.1.1. I usually get the very latest software but I had an issue with my 3G when I upgraded to 4.0, so I am hesitant this time. Should I upgrade to 6.1 now? I heard there could be SIGNIFICANT loss in battery life. Does this occur often? Any other problems I should be worried about, or have they worked everything out?
Thoughts?Take notice this update can take a long time to process. I have an iPhone 4 and the download was a breeze but the update took over 30 minutes.
At least twice there was a block of time of almost 10 minutes in length where it appeared the phone had just frozen. There was the white Apple icon and a progress bar that had absolutely no progress on it for 10 minutes straight.
The temptation to unplug it and restart the process is strong. Resist it.
This update involves updating your firmware. If you unplug the phone in the middle of that you might have a brick on your hands.
This could very well be the problem several people are experiencing when they loose all their contacts etc. Do not unplug the phone until the process is totally finished.
You will know it is finished when your phone restarts with a screen that has a very large iOS6. -

No. It is iphone 5 specific.

I re-enter the password correctly but it keeps happening. Any suggestions?
I have a belkin n surf as well and i have got this and other problems. my iphone 3g and 4 often keep on loosing connectivity. especially if the bluetooth is one (either connected or not). it often fails to find my wifi network after waking up from sleep.
the problem i think is most certainly with belkin n. its one of the worst routers out there. unfortunately i didn't read the reviews before buying it. i have other problems with it to like connecting it to a dc++ hub. the setting up for port forwarding is a pain and it tends to connect to the internet on its own even though there are no settings to disable automatic connection.
i was later told by many people online and also read it in the reviews that its one of the very bad router out there along with other belkin routers. belkin has even arranged a replacement for me as its under warranty but i'm avoidng travelling to the other end of the city cause i know all models have the same problem. the worst of them all is a mere 3mbps transfer speed form one computer to another over wifi file sharing even if they both are connected via 802.11n and are placed withing full signal coverage range, with no firewall or security on either on the machines or router. tried it over several macbooks and windows pcs.
