Have a look at the [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-homepage/?src=ss New Tab Homepage] or the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/my-homepage/?src=search My Homepage] extensions. With My Homepage, if your homepage is set to a search engine, it will give focus to the homepage search bar instead of the address bar when opening a new tab. With the Nanos, you should have no problem lending them loaded with audiobooks from Librivox, etc.
As for the iPod Touches, I'm not sure the question is whether you should allow patrons to set up the device for personal accounts, but whether you can prevent them from doing so. Prepare to to a factory restore every time one is returned. -
Ever since I downloaded the latest version of firefox..is running slower, I am not really liking the new format, is there anyway to go back to the old one?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

It is a Mac port of a newer version of FF thatn any PowerPC Mac can support natively. It runs, looks and feel like FF.

I downloaded the newest version of firefox today 8/16/11 and now I cannot use Evernote (nor does clipmarks work from before) this is unacceptable. How do I return to the earlier version of firefox? Until Evernote updates their add-on to mark it compatible with Firefox 6, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter] to try re-enabling it yourself.
You can also downgrade to a previous version of Firefox from [https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ this archive], but please be warned that some old versions of Firefox have known security bugs that are fixed in later versions. I am using a PowerBook and have recently upgraded to 10.5.8 and would like to get the latest version of Firefox I can. However, FF's home page says 'unfortunately the latest version of FF is not compatible'. But when I look at the requirements it seems that mine should fit. I am not sure if this is a plugin or extension. All I know is that it worked with the old version of Firefox. It is very important to me to be able to use this feature. Any help would be appreciated.
THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED FOR ME.
When I opened this pop-up to view the settings (File > Page Setup > "Format & Options": Scale ), the Scale value was 40%. Changing it to 100% corrected the issue I observed.
To my knowledge, I have not been inside this pop-up window before to set the Scale option. Could this value be affected by other actions within Firefox? I noticed this while using v12 which was installed 24Apr2012.I know it worked correctly since that installation, so why did the Scale value change?
UPDATE: I just realized that the Scale option in print preview sets the Scale value in the settings. NOTE TO ALL: This is a sticky setting, not just a setting for a specific output request. -

Connect to your computer and open iTunes. Look for your iPod under the Devices heading in iTunes sidebar. Select the name field and rename it as you would any file.
If you don't have a sidebar showing then select Show Sidebar from iTunes View menu. -
