I agree it is a very bad and wasteful design especially for users on small laptop screens.
You can drag it to whatever shape you want from the bottom left corner.
Click on the paintbrush to make the Format side panel disappear. However you will need to use that side panel for most formatting.

I've seen many questions, but this is probably the most recent, I am supposedly a 'mobileme' user when infact I never have been. Its annoying, inconvenient and poor customer service. I would like to know if there is a setting i can change that will use the current tab i'm on when opening a group of links in tabs.

Until i upgraded to firefox 8, when i opened a group of tabs (right click on a folder of bookmarks and open all in tabs option), it would use the current tab to as the first of the links and open the rest to the right of that tab. Now that has changed. I don't mind except for not using the tab i'm on. That is somewhat annoying, especially if that is how i browse most of the time. As the first thing i do is open a group of tabs when i start firefox, the first tab has to be closed manually as it did not before and this is annoying to me.

You use a debit card just like you use a credit card in iTunes. You have to enter the card number, security code and billing address as you would with a credit card when you set up the ID. You can make changes to your payment method in your account at any time.
If you want to create an Apple ID without using a credit card you must first sign out of the Apple ID that you already created in Settings>Store>Your Apple ID.
But ...you will also need another email address now if you already created an Apple ID, because that first email address is now associated with that first ID that you created.
If you do have a debit card, you may just be better off entering that card information into your account and use that now. You don't need to even use the debit card if you can purchase iTunes gift cards and redeem those. I use iTunes gift cards exclusively now instead of using my credit card.

You can create a new Apple ID and password for the iPad but none of the content downloaded using the Apple ID associated with the four devices will be available on the iPad.

It's not possible to use two passwords with one Apple ID.

First format the drive to OS X Extended (journaled) with ownership set to be ignored:
Next drag your iPhoto library from your Pictures folder to the EHD. When the copying is complete launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and in the window that comes up select the library on the EHD:
Check the file path under the window to make sure the correct library has been selected.
Once you've confirmed that the EHD library is working properly and has all of your photos you can delete the library in your Pictures folder.

Can I get an application that will generate slide shows with the apple tv type cascading windows?

I bought Fotomagico and I did not see an option for the slide show where the photos cascade float and spin.
Thats what I would like to make my slides shows do and be able to save and burn to disk. The Apple Tv may
have a way to output the slide shows but they are limited to 200 photos max I think.
