hi iam bit confused in buying a IPAD2 3g n Wifi or New IPAD... actually i want to gift it to my gal and she might use it for her books and entertainement stuff...so iam planing to take a contract and buy it... i cant invest money r8 nuw ...so please some one suggest me whether to go for IPAD 2 16GB or New IPad 16gb .... There is a difference for both of them in contracts... i need to spend 6 pounds extra every month that i spend for NEW IPAD....

I had been waiting to purchase an iPad 2 for nearly 6 months...then just as I was ready, my wife tells me not to about a month ago. So here I wait again. I need it for a specific school I am to attend in a few weeks and with this rather **** poor hiccup, now I might be in a bad spot with the school.
Why on earth is my Mother-in-law (whom is a saint by the way....yeah I lucked out...I got an Angel for a mother in law) that does nothing but do things out of the kindness of her heart...why is her money not any good at the Apple store?

What screen protector and case will you be buying for your new ipad (3rd generation)?

I'd like to know what types of cases people will be buying for their new ipad this coming Friday as well as what type of screen protector/body guard you'd recommend.
I've been looking online trying to find places that would be able to ship before Friday, but I'm not sure which one to go with, there's too many options! I'm definitely interested in a leather folio case though.
I've also been wondering what type of screen protector to put on. I've seen the iVisor anti-glare, and I really like how it works, but seriously... anti-glare on a retina display? I don't know... any thoughts on that or suggestions? I'd greatly appreciate it!!

I had an anti-glare screen protector on my iPad 2 and it degraded the quality of the screen so much I removed it. I have a clear skin on the back, which I like. It prevents scratches to the aluminum back and provides a gripping surface to hold on to. The iPad itself was slippery so that extra grip factor helps me. I use a smart cover for the front, because I like the features it has and the quick removability when docking the iPad. I also like that it automatically sleeps and wakes the iPad thereby conserving power. I chose the polyurethane smart cover because I had heard many issues with the leather covers fading/losing color and I couldn't justify the $30.00 dollar difference in price. I dock my iPad into an iHome theater device regularly, so using a portfolio type case would be too cumbersome to deal with. I do think portfolio cases or the otter box cases provide more protection, but they add more bulk to the iPad than I care to deal with. In the end it comes down to personal preference based on your particular needs. The items I have listed and the reasons for them fit my needs, I'm sure others will have different configurations that are specific to their needs. Hope this helps,

From what I've read in these forums it's still quite difficult to find any iPad 2's in stock anywhere. Apparently, people are still forming lines in the mornings in some areas hoping to get a hold of any of the day's iPad shipment. There's no telling how long this iPad "drought" will last.

I have two questions:

You could try an Apple Store and explain your situation. They helped me last year by selling me an unlocked iPad 2 3G to use in USA & UK so hopefully they can do the same on iPad 3 4G.

As long as you buy the GSM/AT&T model, not the Verizon model of iPad 2, it should work with any UAE cell carrier that offers a suitable data plan. Note, though, that you may well not be able to obtain warranty service in the UAE for a US-sold iPad, should that ever be needed, since the UAE requires special restrictions on any UAE-sold iPad and so there may be no US-model replacements available.

My new iPad shipping confusion...

I am confused. I ordered 2 new iPads on the 10th. I was late and got a 4 week shipping notice. My account said to be delivered on April 3rd. No big deal, the apple store is far away from me.
My brother ordered his on the 20th, he got his today.
Now come the confusion, I called Apple and asked the status on my shipping and they said my account stated to be delivered between 3/27 and 4/3. But i was looking at my account at that time and it still stated 4/3 as the delivery date. They apologized but still could not tell me how my brother got his before me.
After the phone call, I happened to navigate away for a second and back and on the refresh my delivery date changed to what Apple had said between 3/27 and 4/3.
So now I am very confused. When will it arrive. Any guesses out there. And are people getting their iPads now who order after me. Was I lost in the Apple que?

It seems that Apple's delivery timeline is too vague. My online shopping experience is telling me that too. It can be a case where the iPad is supposed to be delivered on lets say 27 Mar but without earlier notice, they've already sent DHL or any other delivery courier to ring your bell on the 26th.
With that first experience I had, as my I was not aware I could have my New iPad+iPad Smart Cover shipped at the same time, I received my Smart Cover earlier and the situation I was pointing out was what happened to the Smart Cover. Fortunately I have someone at home who could sign the parcel but this cannot always be the case.
This same thing happened to my New iPad and it was delievered to me at an earlier date than what was stated as the exact date. However, I've already picked up lessons from my first experience and my contingency plan was to phone the sales each day to ask them about the delivery of the iPad as they were able to draw more conclusive answers and advise me when would the courier arrive.
DHL isn't going to call me, Apple isn't going to call me either on the earlier delivery date! They could have done better by placing out an advance notice by message/call via the deliveryman! What they merely do is update an online tracking status with the help of a tracking number. But the tracking details have a lag. We know in such situations you have to be notified in advance. Hey come on, HP is telling DHL courier to place an advance notice with my laptop's pick up and return warranty service call and everyone out there in the market is probably doing such a practice.

The US iPad Wifi + 3G bought from Apple or ATT is NOT network locked.
Stay clear of Verizon however as these have CDMA and not GSM radio.
(Effectively if you were to buy one from them you would simply have an overpriced WIFI model internationally)
There are just a very few places where the iPad is being network locked and that includes surprisingly the very competitive UK mobile services.
Specifically Orange (UK) is one - They block there subsidised iPad offerings for a minimum of three months then charge £20 for un-blocking !

If you buy the old 'new' ipad and then return it, Apple reseller stores might have a no return policy because it is a discontinued product. Given that you saved money for a new ipad, if you can't get one tomorrow, save a little longer and buy one with more memory than you planned, because you cannot increase that.
Can you get to a store before they open tomorrow? Check store websites to see when they go on sale. Or can you now order an ipad 4 on-line at Apple. Then, if you buy one tomorrow, cancel the on-line order.
There has been no announcement that the ipad 2 is also being discontinued, yet the old 'new' ipad is discontinued. That says something. If you have to wait, I suggest you do that to get an ipad with a faster processor and hopefully avoid the wi-fi connection problem that some have had with the old 'new' ipad.

No, unless the store you bought it from has a very generous return policy - the Apple Store official policy is 14 days. The one year warranty is on defects in the product, not for upgrading. You can sell your iPad and use the funds to buy a new one, but you will likely sell for less than you paid.

JSP drop down problem; iam confused

can anybody help me out in creating this jsp page. Iam confused what to do and where to start building this page.
Here is what i need to do :
This new page will have two list boxes side by side and will have two arrows in between. In the left hand box will be a list of "Firm Divisions" that can be selected by using the mouse and arrow button. The user will be able to select one or more of the "Firm Divisions". After the desired "Firm Divisions" are selected the user will click on the SUBMIT button and a message will appear to confirm the request has been sent. The user will then click on the OK button and will be brought back to the previous screen( i.e Pop up a conformation box with a required OK button ).
