Hi, IDOC Material Master upload
Hi
I am working on LSMW IDOC Method for MAterial Master
when i process the idocs.. the idocs are generated and are not getting processed showing 51 - Idocs are not processesd as the idoc packets has errors..
i am not able to debug it.. can anyone help me how to find the error and locate the particular segment..
if any one had faced such error previously can you help me out in solving this..

Hi Guhapriyan,
I think you might be in the wrong forum, but since I am reading here goes. One or more of the idocs in the packet fails, so all will fail. You can eliminate this by setting the packet size to 1 when processing the idocs in LSMW. Alternately, use BD87 to view the idocs and reprocessthe failed ones. They will process individually so you can locate the error messages. MATMAS idocs will generate an success/failure log which you can drill to directly from the idoc in BD87 by double clicking the idoc status record or via trans SLG1. You can also capture the idoc number and process/debug from WE19 but should not need to unless you have implemented CMODs or BADIs on the MATMAS idoc.

BDC program uploads data using Session method. The problem is when i
process the session in foreground mode the data uploads successfully, but
when i process it in background mode it gives the following errors in the
log.
'Control Framework: Fatal error - GUI cannot be reached'.
'Runtime error RAISE_EXCEPTION has occurred'.
When i debugged the program i found that this error is encountered when
data is being input in 'Purchase Order text' editor of MM01 transaction.
There is no problem with the BDC recording or the program as i could see.
The only problem what i believe is the system is unable to call the text
editor for inputting purchase order text data in background mode.Hi

When I make Material master Upload with LSMW, I could not find any entry in planning file.

Not all LSMW transactions properly update Planning file.
You can run transaction MDAB to set up planning file in Background
You can run transaction MDRE to detect and correct Planning file inconsistancies in Background.
It is probably a good idea to run these jobs periodically, say, weekly, in most production environments.

You can load the material master using direct input method in LSMW ,details of which are as follows:

Program name RMDATIND
Program type D Direct input

Hi anybody,
I developed Material master upload programe in ABAP. Material is uploaded. but more than 18 characters materials is upload upto 18 characters last character is "!".
Ex: SET SCREW M12X50MM L - I want upload this material.
But SAP takes automatically like SET SCREW M12X50M! 18 th character is "!" symbol.
how do i resolve this problem. I want upload more than 18 characters.
anybody please tell me this issue.

Problem with Material Master upload

I want to know what the file MTVFP( Group Check Availability) filed gonna do in material master upload bapi "BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA". When i am trying to upload data i am getting the following error "The field MARC-MTVFP/BAPI_MARC-AVAILCHECK is defined as a required field; it does not contain an entry".

Material master upload to new SAP system
Hi,
Please help me to decide the procedure on migrating material master from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0.
One of my idea is to use LSMW and other is to use ALE.
I am expecting many changes in the current material master, so using standard ALE BD10 is difficult. Example: ECC5.0 material type "ABC" would be "XYZ". (XYZ and ABC are of same material type, example: FERT). I choose to have different material number in new system. Like that there are few more changes.
What are all the best methods to extract the data from ECC5.0? I was checking the program RMDATGEN to download the data, but it is not readable. I can prepare a file format and map the columns in ECC6.0 LSMW. Since both the systems are SAP, I am thinking why to prepare a seperate input file format? Again I need to download the data from ECC5.0 for that format. Is there a simple to download and upload the data? Please let me know.

Output mode: Collect Idocs and Do not start subsystem
This collection writes the idocs to a file.
This file can then be found in SAP file system with transaction AL11.
a clever basis guy can then move it from there to your network. -
Exchange rate error in Material Master Upload (MB1C - 561)
Hi.
While uploading material through MB1C with movement type 561, I am getting following error
My company code currency, material master currency is EUR but still following error is occuring.
"Enter rate EUR / rate type M for 01.10.2010 in the system settings
Message no. SG105
Diagnosis
For the conversion of an amount into another currency, an entry is missing in the currency conversion table.
Procedure
Add the missing entry in the currency conversion table.
Execute function
You can then continue to process the commercial transaction."
Why system is asking to maintain exchange rate for same currency?
What are the settings that I should maintain? Thanks in advance.

Where else is the revevant Settings?
Further, I uploaded one material on 25/Oct/2010 well. But when I am trying to upload the same material again on or before or after
25/Oct/2010 system is giving exchage rate error

Material master upload with Parallel currency
Hi,
I have done a good research on this forum to solve my issue. Could not find any and hence starting a new post. Hope to find a solution. Helpful answers will be rewarded.
Our company is using Parallel Currency (Hard Currency).
Whenever a material is created, the Hard currency is calculated automatically in Accounting 1 view
My query is:
While uploading the material master using RMDATIND, is there any way we can overwrite the Hard currency? I could not find any suitable fields to fill this value.
Alternatively i am thinking of using BDC on MM02 to change the Price unit and BDC on MR21 to change the standard price of the hard currency. Which seems very cumbersome.
Any good solution will be appreciated.

Pls understand my requirement and post ur replies...i dont need the basic LSMW learning steps for MM,Vendor etc.,like that...
My problem is...im want to upload my material master datas by steps like 1st i want to uplaod the basic views 1&2 for all the material types in one shot...
next thing i want to load the other views like purchasing sales mrp plant qm accounting etc., in single shot......like screen to be extended formats....im mm01 or by mm02...
when i did....no problem i've faced upto MRP loading...but the next view like plan,QM,accounting is not coming when recording in RUN batch input session..it says..."the material has been already extended and no input was given for this screen"....
Hope u understand,my problem....
if u have answers...pls post me on urgent basis.....
