  • Unable to install Adobe Reader 8.1.2 Help!!!

Help Please I had Adobe Reader 8 on my Laptop Os WinsXP but it was corrupt so I unstalled it and I`m trying ( Approx 8 tries ) to install Adobe Reader 8.1.2 but all I get when it`s trying to Install is a dialog box that pops up saying
Internal Error 2753. Updater api_NON_OPT and then says Adobe Reader 8.1.2 setup Failed.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in Advance
    Alex

I can help if you gor error 1402 about not having permission to update reg sub-key MSFS under:
    HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run/OptionalComponents
Logged into my own account, I could see no sub-keys under Run even though I have Administrator rights. I logged in under the Administrator Account (the one under which Adobe was originally installed). Now I could see all sub-keys.
I installed Adobe Reader 8.1.2 successfully.
I rebooted and logged back in under my own account and can now see all sub-keys.
I suspect 2 things. Either my registry was corrupt and I lost the sub-keys (dont think so) or an update from say Adobe Reader 8.1.1 to 8.1.2 can initially only be done under the account that did the original install (I hope this is not the case). Good luck.

  • Unable to install Adobe Reader 10 or 11

I was trying to open a PDF from government website.
After I opened the file it says that I need a higher version of adobe reader to see the content.
So I went to Adobe website and tried to update my reader.
During the installation an error occurred saying that I already have a more functional version installed.
I then tried again to open that PDF, still telling me to update my reader, so I went to add/remove programs and uninstalled my Adobe Reader XI
Now the serious problem starts, After the uninstall, I DON'T have a reader nor acrobat installed on my system.
But when I tried to download and install Adobe Reader 11 (install_reader11_en_gtbd_awe_aih.exe) at 79% it shows an error and returns this message:
"Windows Installer does not permit updating of managed advertised products. At least one feature of the product must be installed before applying the update."
Similar situation for Adobe Reader 10 (install_reader10_en_mssd_aaa_aih) stops at 79%, returns another message:
"Setup had detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate."
Both process showing "Downloading" before 75%, and "Installing" at 76%, then error occurs at 79%
I checked for other Adobe products I have installed on my machine, they are:
    AIR
    Audition 3.0
    Flash Player 14 ActiveX
    Photoshop CS5.1
    Shockwave Player 12.0
I've never used AIR so I uninstalled it as well, but problem remains.
Now I can't open any PDF on my system, and I don't have a Adobe Reader installed. It's either telling me I have a more functional version or I need at least one feature of the product installed before applying the update.
What can I do now? I don't want to re-install all Adobe products. Hoping for a solution.

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Unable to install Adobe reader Patch

    Hi,
kindly help me on below issue..
I am not able to install Adobe reader patch file it is installing some systems but maximum of systems are getting failed. Here below I have attached the log file and the installation batch file whatever I am using.
The Command I am using through batch file.
    @echo off
    "%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11008.msp" /quiet /passive /q /norestart

1642 = "The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer
and that you have the correct upgrade."
Adobe reader updates are *not* cumulative and only apply to specific versions and patch levels. Adobe has tables on their enterprise support website that detail what patches are applicable to what versions. Here's the one for Reader 10 (can't find the one
for Reader 11 but I'm sure it exists).

  • Unable to install Adobe Reader 8

Been trying for the last few hours to install Adobe Reader 8 but it does not work. I get the installer downloaded but then when I open it it says "Adobe Reader could not install correctly". It's driving me nuts..
    Pls help....
    JCBang, Geneva

I don't think I have ever had so much difficulty and had to jump through so many hoops when installing an app than I did when I installed Adobe Reader 8. And when I did install it, it broke Safari's online displaying of PDF's. Even when I uninstalled Reader, Safari was still broken. It took me quite a bit of searching and asking around to get that fixed.
So unless you have some compelling reason to use Reader over Apple's built-in Preview program, I would avoid Reader 8 like the plague.
Sorry if that was not the answer you were looking for!

  • Error 1651 - Unable to install Adobe Reader

I am having issues with installing Adobe Reader.  When an update was available, the user was receiving an error message of "Error applying transforms.  Verifiy that the specified paths are valid".  I removed and attempted to reinstall Adobe Reader and I am now receiving error message of 1651.
Does anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

I have never seen this error before.
What is the operating system / Windows version?
How are you installing the Reader?
    Running as an Administrator user?
Any other info we don't know about?

  • Unable to install adobe flashplayer on mac 10.9.2

Hi I recently upgraded to 10.9.2 and I am unable to install Adobe Flashplayer on Safari.  I've done an uninstall and downloaded and tried to reinstall but it hangs a little more than halfway.  All I get is an error message saying there's an error - no specifics.
Any help here please?  Thanks in advance!

Are you trying to install this: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77?
I would suggest doing the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Try installing Flash again.

  • Trouble installing Adobe reader on Mac OS

Oh please help. I am trying to urgently open some important legal documents on my iMac.
The documents come with a button telling me I need install adobe reader. However when I click the button and follow the process the last stage tells me Adobe Reader is already installed. I have tried un installing and reinstalling but am being sent round in circles and still unable to open the document.
In finder I can see that the programme is installed but the documents still tell me I require it. What can I do?

My guess is that you are trying to view these in a browser that ignores the Adobe Reader you installed. Save the documents to your desktop and open them from there.

  • Unable to Install Adobe Reader 8.1.2

I downloaded the Adobe reader 8.1.2 and when I try to Install or Remove the program it comes up with an error that the application is on a network that cannot be found. I then do a search for the .msi file and even this cannot be found. When I try to install 8.0 it comes up with the message that a later version of the software is already installed. There are several "pdf" files that I have to open which I cannot do because of this problem

  • I am unable to install Adobe Reader

I am on a new PC, Dell Inspiron 660, 64 bit, Windows 8.1
I use only Windows Protection Programs with standard default setting (no third party products).
I am able to successfully download graphics, video, and other program updates from other companies, but not Adobe Reader.
    I start here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/
I click on the "Install Now" button
and I get kicked out to here: http://www.adobe.com/
When I search Programs and Features through control panel, the only Adobe I find is Flash Player and Shockwave Player.
Is there a reliable link to follow that will actually let me download Adobe Reader?
Many thanks for any suggestions offered.

  • Can download but not install Adobe Reader on Mac OS X 10.4.11

I have downloaded both Adobe Reader 9 and 8, and tried to install them on my Mac. I have chosen the versions that go with my OS X 10.4.11. When I dubbleclick on the icon for the 8 version, I am told it cannot be opened, because the system doesn't support the programme. I can get to the installation guide with the 9 version, but when I try to install it, I am told the programme cannot be installed on this computer, and that I should check that the system meets the requirements. I have no idea what to do...
