Hi, iPad screen won't flip when in emails-fine all other applications?
Hi, I can't get the screen to flip when I'm in the email programme. All other programmes work fine. iPad only 3 days old- worked fine in email until yesterday.
Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it rotates when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Top right side of your iPad there's a switch (screen rotation lock button) just above the volume button. Push it up.

Yes there is a rotation lock setting.
First try the switch above the volume rocker. If that doesnt work then double click the home button. It should display a multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen. Slide that to the right and it should display a few settings including screen lock. Make sure that it is unchecked. -

My iPad won't flip the screen anymore. If I turn it horizontally, it stays vertical unless I turn it off with the top button and turn it back on. It's the same if it's horizontal. It won't flip vertically if I turn it. How do I fix this?
Try flipping the little black switch - the side switch - above the volume rocker on the side of the iPad. If that doesn't work, double tap the home button and the task bar appears. Swipe all the way to the right in the task bar and look all the way on the left and there may be a lock icon there. Tap it to unlock the screen rotation.
You can set the side switch to lock the screen or mute system sounds. Go to Settings>General>Set Sidw Switch to: and select Lock Rotation or Mute System Sounds. -
Starting a few weeks ago... every time I delete an email, Thunderbird acts like it's crashing and takes 30 seconds or so to delete and email, then returns to normal operation. There is no slowness during any other operation.

2) Try a reset by holding the on/off and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
3) If this fails, take it to an Apple Store.

After I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 my screen won't flip horizontally for video clips. It does flip for YouTube but not for music videos.
Please fix!!This is ridiculous. Half the time it will go horizontally to a song that isn't even playing. The other half of the time it's a tiled screen with album covers. They have the most stupid things that don't work right!

Press the home button twice, consecutively to bring up multi tasking. swipe from left to right. U will then see a orientaion lock key. Press that and it should solve the problem. Hope this helps

I think it makes perfect sense the way it is now-maybe they could add a setting to give the option of turning off the lock. -
