Hi, is it possible to create a page transition similar to jquery when using a 'nav to' button?

I am creating an iPad app and wish to have a menu from which when pressed will take the user to other pages within the same app. For this I am using a 'navto://' URL button with the file name and page number following within the code (e.g. navto://filename#1). In the Folio overlay preview, the desired page transition effect similar to jquery occurs but this is lost when uploaded to the iPad. Does anybody know if you can control the page transition effect?

What folio overlay preview are you talking about? There are no page transitions in DPS.

Sure you can build it, I just don't think anyone has, you could also use their solution as well in an APEX page it's just a matter of integration.

the subject says it all. I have downloaded the trail version to see if its possible to create a editable pdf with validation(required field) using Adobe Acrobat pro version?
Basically, I will have to create a pdf form where users fill it and send it back to me. there will be required fields (the textbox and check box) that user need to fill before saving the editable pdf?
Is it possible. if so, can someone kind enough to point to me right directions?

Thanks for reply. What I am trying to achieve is to give an option for the user to download the pdf form and once the user tries to save the pdf, it validates with the required field. I managed to create the editable pdf with required fields option. I just need that validation to be done when user click on save file. How can I achieve this? thanks so much for your help.

Just be careful with Pages 5, it is not strictly an upgrade.
Apple has actually removed over 90 features and some work can be very difficult in the newer version.

I would like to invite you to take a look at my Nugget on Action Engines.
Since you have a data value that must be available for live updates in more than one place in the code, an Action Engine will provide a reliable method to share that value. You will update the Action Engine any time the control changes. All other function that require that information can read the the value form the Action Engine.
That method has been in use since LV version 2 and provided the AE is implemented correctly (see Nugget) it gives good performance and helps keep code modular.

Pages don't always show when using cfinclude

For our site we have a page template, a shell, that we use to
display pages. It uses a cfinclude to call the page into the
template:
<cfinclude page=#url.PageName#.cfm>
The link for that page would look like:
<a href="index.cfm?PageName=contact">
However, on a number of occassions, users click a link for a
page, and get the error "page not found". If they simply hit
refresh, the page shows up without a problem. The page is there,
and it works, but it just doesn't always show until refreshed. Of
course, most users don't know to refresh, and it's a pain to do
anyway.
Any ideas why this happens? Suggested solutions?

i use cfinclude constantly with no problem... when you get
the 404 page, right click, go to properties and see what page is
being called.
i doubt this would be an issue but try dropping the "url."
from variable... (never know). i usually misspell things like
"PageName" for the same reason (never know) so would be pgName or
something. i never use common words unless i have to in variables
and db fields.
love CF but it has got tons of weird bugs that you just have
to work around.

Does your website live on a Windows server? The above link you posted will require a Windows server for that to work but if you do, then you should be able to just follow the links instructions.
If your site is not on a Windows server (maybe it's on Linux?) then you would most likely need a PHP solution - something like this: http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_mail.asp. Depending on your host, they might actually have a ready-built form script for you to use so it might be best to ask them first.
You might also want some kind of validation to ensure you receive the correct information so something like jQuery Validate could work.

Is it possible to use the free Pages app on new iPads when using Configurator?

We understood that Pages, Keynote, Numbers, and other apps would be free for our new iPads. We are a K12 school and use Apple Configurator to supervise student devices. These apps are showing up as paid apps. Is there a way to make this work?
If we log into iTunes on an unsupervised device, we can download the apps free. However, this is not possible for student devices.

Currently, the PXI-8221 is not supported under LabVIEW RT. If you need to have an external hard disk for additional disk space, I will recommend you getting a PXI-8252. This is a FireWire card and you can connect an external hard drive to it with the right HDD enclosure.

Is it possible to create an own "transition template"

I have lots of elements that should "pop up". This means they are scaled via keyframes at 0% go to 110% after three frames and to 100% after another three frames. This basically functions as a transition because the graphics disappear the same way (just the other way around: scale 100%, 110%, 0%). Is it possible to save this as a template of some sorts? Or do I have to manually copy and paste the keyframes to every single element's beginning and end (which takes time because the length may differ)?

You can save this into presets.
Rightclick on Motion...Save Preset...

I am using iwork 09 on my Macbook and have a problem with all documents created in Pages, numbers and keynote. When I open and one of them every document that has ever been created, even attachements to emails that have long been deleted open up. Help!

If anyone can help with this I would be eternally grateful. I would like to be able to delete a document and not have it keep coming and asking me if I would like to save it. Even when I take the do not save option it still comes back. Is it me or the software?

You are probably correct. I tried all different variations to test it. As long as I quit each document separately, i.e., red dot it, I seem to bring up only one document after that whether I click on the document itself or open it within pages. The same is true with numbers.
Two more questions:
1) can you turn off the "resume" feature? If so, how? I could not find a way to do it.
2) why the "save a version" feature in pages? What happened to the old "save" and "save as" features?

A Reference Functional Location structure is a good template for a a Functional Location structure. For an equipment or equipment hierarchy there isn't a real equivalent. More Functionality is required than creating an equipment with Reference to an existing one. E.g. you have a fleet of vehicles that all have inspection points - copying a template equipment will create a new vehicle with the same inspection points - but what happens if you need to add an inspection point to all the vehicles that were copied from the template.
Does anyone know of standard functionality to do this?

Reference Equipment is also an Equipment, not like the concept of Reference Functional Location.
You can have separate category as Reference Equipment, in which you can create Reference Equipment in IE01.
While creating actual equipment, just put that Reference Equipment number, in IE01 then all the details will be copied including measuring points.

Firefox does not correctly print - creates empty pages and cuts of content when printing

When trying to print out pages Firefox first prints a lot of empty pages, and then only a part of the content. Example:

When printing this page with Internet Explorer all is fine.

This problem does not appear in Internet Explorer, and it should be reproduceable. At least I thought so, so it would help if others could try to click on the link and try to print. They should have the same troubles.

Is it possible to control the order that text flows appear when using them as text insets?

I want to create multiple flows in a FrameMaker file which I can then insert as text insets. I would like to choose the inset using the Body Page Flow: dropdown list. However, there seems to be no order, alphabetical or otherwise, in which these flow appear in the drop down list. Is it possible to control this order, or is there a particular reason it appears the way it does?
