You may be able to buy a program to do this - not supported by Apple.
the ipod is not a storage device. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchaes.
The music should be on a computer as that is where they came from in the first place.

Connect the iOS device to your computer restore via iTunes. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I just bought an Ipad 2 but i cant get it to boot up past the itunes logo
I bought this device as i only have a work laptop but its being taken away next week. Its locked by the company i work for so cannot install any programs etc. Its been fine for web surfing as thats all i need.
I have turned on the Ipad but there is a pic off a usb cable and an itunes logo.. it wont go past that. I cant download itunes to my laptop it wont let me because the admin password is set by my work to stop employees from doing this type off thing.
What do i do... take it back to the shop and get a laptop.?You have some options. You need access to a pc or mac to get it installed and activated.
1. Use a friends computer.
2. Have somebody at the apple store do it.
3. There is no three.
If you has a friend with a computer and a fast connection you are set. Even if they do not do spple stuff, you can download i tunes, create an account, fire up the pad, then delete everything from that friends computer.
In the long term, you really do need a place to call home for back ups etc. a lot of folks run their pads with no computer, and it works fine until you have an issue, or need a major update.
If you can only have 1 device, i think you should consider your intended usage, and think real hard about a laptop. ( or my favorite los cost computer, mac mini) -
I just got the Iphone 4s and am attempting to synch it to my home computer for the first time in order to transfer music and such. However, my home computer is set up with a different apple ID linked to my itunes library than my iphone apple ID. How do I transfer music and is it possible to merge accounts?
Apple ID accounts cannot be merged, and you can't transfer purchases to a new ID. Purchases are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. You can, however, authorize your home computer for another Apple ID by opening iTunes and going to Store>Authorize this computer, and signing in with the other ID. This will allow you to add purchases from this ID to your iTunes library and sync them with your phone.
When you sync with an iTunes library for the first time iTunes will delete all iTunes media (apps, music, movies, etc.) from your phone and replace it with the media in the iTunes library you are syncing with. It's important to transfer your content to your new iTunes library prior to syncing so, although it will be deleted, it will simply be transferred back to your phone when you sync. Music purchased from the iTunes store can be transferred from your phone to your library prior to syncing (as explained in the linked guides below), however music from other sources cannot. You will either have to add these to iTunes from other sources (such as by ripping your CDs again) or use 3rd party software capable of transferring it from your phone (such as Touch Copy).

The media is only where the user put it. Restore the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the backup of the computer. -

I have sound on everything except when I am on the internet. I have checked the sound and all levels are turned up and a sound check works. when i am on the internet and try u tube or games I have no sound.

I updated to iOS 7 but now that I am using my iphone, all my apps are gone. everything else has been recovered from i could except my apps. I have my apps backed up but i cant get them restored.
Right click on the .exe file and select run as admin. This will allow it to run all the processes it needs and should help it work. If the problem is not fixed you should try waiting till a new update, that often fixes ios issues.
On other problem could be a hardware issue, try a new cable and use it in a different USB socket. -

IF you do find a backup that has your contacts; I'd /highly/ recommand turning off your wifi network after the restore is finished because if the issue is with your iCloud your contacts may merge back with her's.
With iCloud you DO NOT want to share the account; bad things happen Evil evil thigns...
But in all seriousness; if two devices have the same iCloud; iCloud is told to merge and sync infomation between hte two and can't tell that it doesn't belong to the same person -
My daughter has an iPod touch using my apple ID, I just purchased an iPhone with the same ID. Is there a way to keep my stuff seperate from her ipod but still share the iTunes account? Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases. -

THanks!A first generation iPod touch can't be updated past 3.1.3. If it's a newer model, update it from iTunes on a computer, and if possible, the one it normally syncs with.

My daughter has an ipod touch with alot of games and music on it. The computer it was synced to is forever gone and on her new computer some of the games dont show up along with her music. She is worried if she connects it to her new computer all will be lost. Is there anyway for this to not happen?
