My daughters just got an ipod touch today and I'm having trouble connecting it to my Wi-Fi network. It identifies my wireless connection but then says 'unable to join the network' with the word 'Dismiss' underneath. Any ideas on what I can do? Thanks!!

Thanks for your reply. I've tried resetting a few times. There is no 'tick' next to the name of my wireless connection so it won't connect at all. I think I may have to do something with my router as there is an arrow button to press next to my wireless name, this takes me to a screen which asks for IP address, then has options for DHCP BootP and Static, it asks for Client ID DNS etc - all gobbledegook to me!! Perhaps my router is blocking the Ipod?

Without proper system information and other details nobody can help you. and this error means what it says - some other install process is still active, even if it may not do so visible. Could be a silent update of a virus scanner or something, could be a botched install of another program, not even specifically Adobe. As a start, always reboot your computer and then try again. For anything else we need much more info.

I just got ipod touch I havent took it out the box yet but I wanted to know any tips and tricks I can use to help me get started. I wanted to know if I need the software update and I also have a ipod nano can I still use them both? or can I make my ipod touch my default ipod in my itunes? Thanks

If you get a new iPod Touch you will get the updated software andyway and, believe me, it is worth it. While you won't have continuous connections to the Internet, many hot spots are out there so you can check e-mail, YouTube, etc as well as surf the net in those places where hot spots are. In addition, the iCal function works great and the Map program is fantastic.
What has happened is that the iTouch is becoming a useful PDA as well as having the great music function. I don't know if you "need" these but I find that the programs make the iTouch a much much more useful device for what I do.
Regrarding "default" status: When you connect your iTouch to your Mac, iTunes will recognize it as a separate iPod and you can set up the syncing, etc just for it. When you connect your other iPod(s) iTunes recognizes those as separate devices for syncing, etc. I have a Nano and an iTouch and that is the way it works so you don't have to worry about a "default" set up.

Just got the iPod Touch 5 and my World of Warcraft "Armory" app needs an update even thou I got it up to date.....

I bought an iPod Touch 5 from my friend today and uploaded all of my apps from my iTunes and got all of them Up-To-Date. Somehow after updating the World of Warcraft "Armory" app it says that the app needs to be updated even thou I updated the app. Nothing would work. I try deleting and reinstalling the app and still ask for update. I look in my Updates tap in the App Store but it says that All apps are up to date.

I have the simlar issue when getting the app for my Dad's iPad. Help me too please.

Yes, this is completely normal. You are seeing what is called *Fast Charge*, which will charge your iPod to about 80% capacity in about 2 hours instead of charging it for 4 hours to reach full capacity.
Yes, so after about 2 hours of leaving it charged, it will say 100% but will really only be charged to 80%.

How you tried changing the type of encruption? Changing to no encryption?

Yes. You can set the payment method to "None" once you log into iTunes on your PC/Mac. I have it set up this way.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar

That sounds like you've engaged one of the automatic syncing options for your nano.
Plug the nano in, and go into the Device screen for the nano in itunes. Is "manually manage ..." unchecked? If so, check the box for it, and click okay. Disconnect and reconnect the nano. Is the content on the nano able to be selected in your iTunes now?

I just got my iPod touch 4g repaired and now my wifi is down

I just got my iPod touch repaired because i had a cracked screen. I got it back one day ago, and it was being repaired for 3 weeks. Whenever i try to use wifi, no networks show up. I tried rebooting, but nothing happened. I know that the signal bar cant be completely broken because at my friends house i would get wifi for 5 minutes or so. then it would break down again for half an hour. When i got home, no networks showed up. Its been like this until now. Can someone please help me?
Also if i put my ipod right next to the router it works, but when i walk away the signal stops.
And i have an unrepsonsive home button.
