I was unable to restore the previous settings of my iPhone4. An error message appeared when I sync it with the iTunes.

I like to also have the concept in hand, so I can "re-derive from fundamental principles" when needed. [That's just a euphemism of "over-thinking", which I do a lot.]
That concept is: The drive on the desktop is an Icon. Like any other icon, including Files and Folders, it can be renamed by clicking on the name and re-typing a name, or using GetInfo and typing in the larger and more convenient name-box. Once renamed in this fashion, "It works the way it ought to work." -
iTunes automatically download an updated version of an app which I do not want to. Please advise if there is way to restore the previous version of that app, without losing the data in that app.

To put your iPhone back in jail do a restore.
This will put iPhone back into factory condition and you can get your updates (assuming you want the updates). -
Problem: Recently when I open iTunes it doesn't work; the little pinwheel just keeps spinning.

You might want to consider running the combo updater over your install to refresh your files.

After running the combo updater, select Software Updater and update iTunes.
If iTunes fails to open after updating, hold down the Option key when launching iTunes. It will ask you to locate your iTunes Library.
Note: I've seen users with their iTunes Library on an external drive spin like this when the drive was failed to be seen in Disk Utility. Run Repair Drive on the external drive to fix this issue. -
I have problems with IOS 6.1.3 the latest software. How can I roll it back to the previous version?
I recently updated my Iphone 3GS with software version 6.1.3 and little problems started to happen. My telephone reception drops out from time to time. A couple of my external chargers are no longer compatible. I tried looking at the Apple website to find out how to restore the previous version without any luck. As much as I want to agree with you. it couldn't have been co-incidental that both chargers were working a few days ago but not after the new software was upgraded. Although my iphone is an earlier generaton model, but I got it new at an Apple Store only a couple of months ago.

Can you help me to retrieve my applications. In iTunes I accidentally clicked the Restore button in the Summary screen. It restored the original settings and I lost all my applications and don't know if it is possible to retrieve them.
All apps on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer.
You can re-download all 3rd party apps and you won't be charged again for a purchased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the apps that was used to purchase the app originally.

Do this with iTunes on your computer. After you have re-downloaded every app one by one, select Sync Apps under the Apps tab for the device's sync preferences along with selecting the apps below that you want transferred to the device followed by a sync to re-install the apps on the device. -
Before the recent updates to Firefox, when I would go to another page in the same window and then clickon the back button, Firefox used to bring me back to the same place on the page where I had been, but now it brings me to the top of the page, meaning that I have to laboriously scroll down to the old place. I want to give the hand-me-down to my kids so they will stay off my MacBook Pro I'd like to start fresh with the MacBook, remove all the former owners information, restore it to factory settings, but it did not come with any installation discs, so I don't know what to do. I recently purchased Snow Lepoard for my 2008 MacBook Pro. Can I use that to restore the MacBook? Also, the former owner purchased Microsoft Office (ugh) with the computer but again, no installation discs. How do I keep that when I restore?

I've added ios6 to my new ipod but tried then to restore the factory settings. It won't extract any settings and the itunes then tells me that the server cannot be reached or is unavailable. I've been trying all day. Now the ipod has a itunes sign and a computer lead pointing towards it on the screen and this is frozen. It won't switch off or do anything else. Any ideas as this is now driving me crazy.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How do you restore the previous button & remove / hide the autosync button?
The 'Previous' button at the bottom of the toolbar has disappeared and now it only shows the sync / autosync button & reset. How do I restore the Previous button? (LR 5.4)
The sync/auto sync button should only display when you have multiple images selected. But after reading your question I went into Lightroom to confirm that. And it seems that the button is kind of "sticky". After having multiple images selected and then deselected, I had to move between images a few times before the "Previous" button returned. I've only checked it briefly.
Later: just tried it again, and it isn't sticky anymore. Must've been a momentary glitch. -

How to restore the previous version of an app?

I would like to restore the previous version of an iphone APP. I hate the new version. I deleted the new version of the app on my Iphone 4 and also on Itunes. I use windows 7 pro. Is there a way to get the previous version of that app? I use Itunes 11, which is the newest version I believe. I have done several backups this year and last year, if that helps. But I am not sure if the app was backed up as well. I know where the back ups are store in my computer. I dont know much about Itunes, can someone help please?

StruparIf you have the older version in your recycle bin, or one of your backups, delete the current version of the .ipa file, then paste in a copy of the old one. In iTunes go to the apps section of your library and attempt to Get Info for the app in question. Normally the two versions will have slightly different file names so iTunes may ask you to locate the file, do so. On your device delete the copy of the app, then sync with iTunes. You'll need to disable all forms of automatic updating, and will lose any settings and data associated with the app.
Hmm, offhand I can't recall if automatic updating in iOS 7 is optional. Check that first.
