It sounds like you might need to reinstall.

If this works look in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items and delete any third party login items (-), you can always add them back with the (+). Don’t just “hide” them by checkmark. -
I have never backed up my iphone to my itunes because I always used the cloud. However, a few months ago, my wifi disk in my phone burned out so the Apple Store told me to back up everything to my itunes. I am going today to get the iphone 6 so I connected my phone (iphone 4S) to my itunes and I backed up and synced. However, when I look throughout the summary page and click in different areas (Photos, Movies), I don't see any of my data -- it is still asking me to Sync from iPhoto or to sync from another location. By backing up & syncing my phone, did all of my data get saved? Or do I still need to do more steps?
Sorry for the long winded question, I am just so nervous to get a new phone and plug it in to be restored and not have any of my pictures, videos or contacts, etc. Any help would be so so appreciated!Thank you again for all of your help!! I really appreciate it!
I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. I still get the notification that my phone needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi in order to back up to the cloud :-(
How can I sync using USB? Right now when i click on the info tab for my iPhone in my iTunes this is the answer that I get -- I am a little unclear as to what it means.

Finder not responding and missing desktop
When shutting down this computer all of the icons on the desk top
started flashing and a window opened for a few seconds then closed on
it's own. This happened for several minutes. I pushed the reset button
to restart and when it came back up all of the desk top icons were gone
and the "finder" icon on the toolbar would not respond....holding the
cursor over the icon and right clicking will bring up the "open" command
but clicking on it does nothing.
The other applications on the toolbar seem to work fine but it seems
like the hard drive (and the external drive) have been shut down or
maybe erased. Have you any idea where to start looking to fix this?
After poking around last night, I came across the logs in "about this computer". I don't understand all of the lists, but one at the end shows

This particular entry is from this morning when I started up the system.
I will take your advice and go to the apple store. We have the disks for a re-install and for "restore" but I don't want to run those until we can back up some of the stuff from various applications.Might try this, Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

Update: my problem was solved by getting my VGA monitor out of the attic. Once windows was done and I ran the setup.exe off the Snow Leopard CD, all of the drivers were updated to allow me to switch back over to my apple cinema display.
Also, I did need to hold down the option key to select the windows CD to install...and again to select the windows partition to boot but so far everything is going well with Bootcamp 3.0.4 and XP SP2...other than it is windows.

I have no idea why it does that. I have it plugged into an extension chord if that helps.
Plug adapter directly into wall socket. If still problem, all components are covered by Warranty. Make Genius reservation and take iPhone, wall adapter, and Lightning USB cable to Apple for resolution.

I just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion. wiped the computer clean and started fresh Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help. in Looking for help I was directed here. what do I do?
I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.
I appreciate your responses.

I just updated my MAC operating system and when I went to open a recent document in numbers, the document that opened had none of my data and was formatted differently. Can I get my document with all my information back?
I suggest the easy stuff first:
1) quite Numbers and restart Numbers
2) reboot the computer
After that try opening the same document in another user space -
I just updated my Mac to the new op system and when I tried to open my Ai it gave me this message, "To open "Adove Illustrator CS5.1 you need to install the legacy java SE 6 runtime." I updated my Java to 8 and it still won't open. I tried to update my Ai to 11...it won't update.

Others have found that it may depend on browser. Specifically, a switch from Safari has solved it in one case. -
Just updated to Mac OS 10.7.3 and each time I attempt to open Firefox I receive the message; "Firefox quit unexpectedly". Can't use FF! Repeated attempts to open FF result in the same message.
Downloaded FF again and the same message occurs.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
There is also a lot of useful stuff in the [[Firefox crashes]] Knowledge Base article. If you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/latest-firefox-issues#w_firefox-crashes-when-i-start-it this article] as well.

Hi, I just updated my mac from version10.6 to 10.9.3 os mavericks. i went to open iPhoto and it says "Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade." does this mean I have lost all photos i had in there? Last Resort, put the iPhone in DFU mode (Google How to do that). Connect in iTunes. Follow on-screen prompts to Restore. All Data would be lost, if not backed up earlier.
To save the photographs you may have to use third party software. Google is your friend.
