Command-Shift-3 and 4 works just fine on several Macs that I have here.
Try restarting your Mac....or post in the specific support area for your Mac model....for more advice.

Deleting the backup only permanently deletes the backup from iCloud. It doesn't do anything to the data currently in your account or on your devices. To delete it, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of the device that you want to delete the backup for, then tap Delete Backup.
You can't see anything in an iCloud backup, if that's want you're asking. You can only restore it to your device. You can, of course, see your other iCloud data. -

For a long time, years, the old MacBook pro ceased entering the song titles. This is very time consuming for me, so I finally investigated a bit further.
I discovered how to enter the track titles onto my newer MacBook Pro, and was so pleased! But when I tried to do the same with the other laptop, it failed.
What I did, basically, was what the Apple Help suggested--choose iTunes General Preferences, etc.etc. And yes, I did upgrade the old laptop to the newest iTunes version.
Am I just wasting my time here? Is there some reason why an older Mac Pro will not do what the newer one will, with regard to iTunes?
My older laptop is a 2.6 GHz Core Duo; it has 36 GB of "memory available." The newer one a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7. It has 284 GB of memory available.

moved iphoto to trash and downloaded and installed new one but still tells me to prepare and upgrade it when I have done it 2 or 3 times now... how do i get it to open so I can upload my photos?

What exactly dod you have and have you done?
What version of iPhoto did you have and what version do you now have? Of the OS? If you are upgrading from iphoto '08 or earlier did you download and RUN the iphoto library upgrader?

Hi everyone. My voicemail just stopped working. A caller today said they got a message that it was not activated or something like that. When I called it from another phone all I got was ringing for a long time and then a disconnect. I have had this phone for about three months and it has been working until now.
I updated software and turned the phone off and on again. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. The reps at that time deflected the easiest course of action, by trying to get you to replace the phone under insurance instead of returning the phone. The Early Edge payment option requires the current phone on the line using the early Edge must be returned to Verizon Wireless. Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter? -
The Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down keyboard short cuts don't seem to work anymore. Can we get this back?
Until the latest update (I'm guessing v 34.x), the search bar's icon would show you the currently selected default search engine. I understand that Google is no longer paying to be the default... That I was expecting and isn't my issue....
I used to be able to use Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down to change the default search engine (maybe default isn't the right term... but it changed what was used when I hit <Enter> or <Alt+Enter>). Now, there's no support for this as far as I can tell.
This shortcut page (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly) still references it, but it doesn't seem to work.
As a sort of side note: Where typically, middle clicking on anything opens stuff up in a new tab, that behavior does not seem to carry over when clicking one of the non-default options in the search context menu. I've always appreciated that Firefox was very consistent about respecting the middle click as "do this in a new tab" what seems EVERYWHERE.If you start typing a search term then a drop-down list opens.
You can use the Tab key to select other search engines that show on the bottom bar.
If you want to restore the previously used standalone window to manage search engines then you can toggle this pref to false with a middle-click on the <b>about:config</b> page.

You need to close and restart Firefox to make this work properly.

How to get storage on my phone again. PLEASE HELP this has been an issue for a LONG time now.
almost ALL of my iphones memory is being taken up by "other" i only have 1 GB of pictures & under 1 GB of apps. I actually had to delete all my apps just so i would still have space on my phone. I am not looking to buy more memory. My family cant really waste our money on that kind of stuff right now. I have tried restarting my phone but when i back up to icloud my phone is full of memory still. No i have no problem with getting all my pictures off my computer. But is there a way to reset my phone and ONLY keep my contacts. No other memory stays on my phone just my contacts. that way other will go away? If i need to go to the apple store i will go there. I just need to know what to do. another question i had was, now that i downloaded the icloud pannel, if i were to delete my icloud backup account, would all my information, like contacts, notes, reminders, etc, still be saved on icloud.com ? so i could just reset my phone completely. Get all my contacts off of icloud.com. & download all my pictures from my laptop onto my phone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER. this has been a major problem for me for about a year & now its getting to the point where theres nothing left i can do. It's really stressing ALWAYS having to get online to try to find a way for my phone to not run out of storage. Please and thank you.

I've been struggling with this some time (downloading / saving problems) and tried all kinds of variations. But I'll keep it simple for now.
As a test .. I've just created a fresh firefox profile. Checked out if could change the download location, through the Browse button, and indeed that worked. I got an explorer dialog to choose a folder.
Normally I would do the options, manage the search engines, do some layout stuff etc etc in order to get some 'baseline / master' profile I can evolve further into other more extended profiles. So you see this master profile will get copied into another one.
But, having copied that fresh profile (having done nothing yet) into another seems to disable choosing another download folder. The Browse button in Options > General does not work anymore.
There's more. If I browse to, say, C:\ as default download location but then enable 'ask me where to save ..' in the fresh profile and then copy this profile to another one .. if I then want to change the download location (which shows C:) it jumps to Desktop and again the Browse button won't work.
This is driving me mad. Any ideas? Sorry for the long story, hope it helps.Hi guys,
@cor-el: getting rid of not needed parts is what I always do. Besides prefs and localstore, only the search-metadata and permissions / signons are passed along. Oh, forgot to mention the mimetypes.
No, my point is why is FF looking for those folders when there's no mentioning of these to be found in my options? Not even in de about:config ... When I state C:\ as my downloads location it's absurd to check any other folder first, which FF seems to do before giving me an explorer window showing .. C:\ as a starting point. Like my unrestricted laptop does.
@jscher2000: Even if there are pointers to those default folders, FF should not be checking those. When I state C: I mean C: (see my answer above).
No, I'm convinced this is a bug unless someone knows a way to stop that folder checking. And to be honest, the not working Browse button is the least of my problems (I use: ask everytime where). No it's the saving that is the problem. But I guess the underlying problem is the same. Saving / downloading, what's in a name ..
Guys, thanks for your help ! I can't fix a bug so I'm going to let it be. I'll rebuild my master and will keep checking of saving a website becomes a problem somewhere. Mind you, the solutions offered in kb.mozillazine.org/Unable_to_save_or_download_files didn't work.

Having used Elements for a long time, Now cannot load prog.
The above is the error message, Apparentlly it also is a 'solution' for several similar problems. I have tried but no handles' with no workaround mentioned.
The above is the suggested way to solve but I cannot see that It works. I am doing something wrong no doubt. No unlocking handle " Am I Looking In The Right Places to unlock". I cannot work out what I have changed because I have never had the problem before and I cannot get past the welcomes page to see if there is a setting there. I am not an expert with the program but have used it for many years, had no problems.

Use the source files from the apache connector download to build the mod_jk.so file.
We do this by using the c++ command line compiler or the guey compiler
The location is relative to where you installed or placed the download source code
For example my location is as follows:
C:\apache13\tomcat-connectors-1.2.20-src\native\apache-1.3 (the actual project file is,mod_jk.dsw)
Through the guey is easy just select the rebuild from the build menu.
It should build if you remebered to set your environmental variables
For Example
Java_home = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_10
Apache1_home = C:\apache113\Apache (this would be apache2 for version 2 of Apache)
I also had to even though my environmental variable was set,
had to copy and past a file (jni.h) locally into the the following directory;
C:\apache13\tomcat-connectors-1.2.20-src\native\apache-1.3
Within the Apache Directory I had to change a couple of the library names of some of the files
to relect what files the source compile was looking for
I also downloaded the latest apache server and wehn i was building the connection in C++
Linked to 2 files and changed there names as these files were not in the version of Apache I was using
and that is why the names had to be changed of the following 2 files
libaprutil-1 changed to libaprutil
libapr-1 changed to libapr
Step 6:
Once successfully built move the mod_jk.so from this directory
C:\apache13\tomcat-connectors-1.2.20-src\native\apache-1.3\Release
to C:\apache113\Apache\modules\ directory
Step 7:
Use the Depends Tool (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools\depend.exe) to see if the
.so files can find all of the associated .dlls. If the program cannot you may need to import (copy & paste) into the
directory which the mod_jk.so is looking for it. .
For Example the issue I had was the following 2 .dlls where in the wrong directory
Win9xConHook.dll
ApacheCore.dll
The mod_jk.so was looking for this in its current directory (C:\apache113\Apache\modules)
Step 8:
You must modify the httpd.conf file (C:\apache113\Apache\conf directory) by adding the following line:
Include "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Tomcat 5.5/conf/auto/mod_jk.conf"
This .conf file is created when Tomcat is started so dont fret if its not built...
Step 9:
In the Tomcat directory you must edit the server.xml file
(C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\conf)
Right below the following tag add the listner tag
