Hi people,please help! iphone playing up!

hi peops
i have an iphone 3GS and its playing up....ie: when texting i get multiple letters and sometimes a tab comes up with different forgien letters,if i press delete it will mostly delete my message if i dont quickly press another letter or the space bar but then if i press the space bar i will get a full stop and have to delete that,bit of a pain and im starting to go mad! its not just the text it happens on the apps too,as if i have held down an APP to delete it so it wiggles but i havent held it down,sometimes the screen will lock up altogether and i have to restart the phone holding down both buttons for the 11 seconds as advised,also,the apple shop told me to back up and do a restore as it sounds like just a software issue,ok,i tryd that,my iphone has the latest update and is not due again until 1st sept!
i dont have applecare or insurance
i cant upgrade til may 2012 and a fast track to the iphone 4 will cost me £185
has anyone got any idea what it could be????

It will wipe out the iphone and restore it to factory settings, your contacts should be on your mac/windows address book (anyway you should have a backup or a copy of your contacts) from where itunes take them to sync or in mobileMe if you have a suscription, your music and apps should be stored in your itunes. So you will have to reconfigure the iphone again (i.e. choose the music and apps you want to sync with your iphone, configure wifi setttings, configure email accounts, etc.) Some work to do here! but after your iphone should be working normally.
Just make sure you sync your iphone with itunes before doing this it will copy apps and music you bought lately to your computer.

Hello--I am an architecture student and I am having problems
with my Flash website. I have uploaded my half-done website on

My animations end on frame 311, where I have five buttons
linking to different frames (The Resume button links to 312 and the
About Me button links to 313 using
on (release) {gotoAndPlay(frame number);
I also have "back" buttons on 312 and 313 which link back to
311. All three frames have the stop command applied.
My problem: Whenever I publish and try to click on Resume or
About Me, it will only play to 312 due to the stop command, thereby
not allowing me to get to the About Me frame (313). I have tried
taking away the stop command but then when I click on the About Me
button the timeline plays through 312 to get to 313 and you can
actually see it flash through on-screen. I just want ithese buttons
to jump to their respective frames and stop, without seeing
anything in-between or stopping where it shouldn't. Is there a
specific actions script that needs to be applied or would it be
easier to create new flash documents for each link?
Hopefully someone can help m after viewing the website
itself.

Use the gotoAndStop(frame number): instead of play.
The playhead will stop on the disignated frame, and you won't
need a stop
action on it.

I on't understand your question, even though you repeated it 4 times. Where doesn't the carrier name appear? Does the phone work?

[PLEASE HELP] iPhone 4 4.2.8 iTunes cannot sync apps because they cannot be determined

I have an iPhone 4 Verizon running iOS 4.2.7. When I try to sync the phone with my PC it says something like "iTunes cannot sync because the installed apps cant be determined." This is very frustrating and Ive tried every trick people say fixes it(device manager trick, updating itunes, restarting itunes, different port, restarting cp etc). What can I do? I just want to sync a new album to my phone Please help!

1) The files are in the iTunes folder. The iTunes folder is in your Music folder which is in your home folder (user).
So go to <user home>/Music/iTunes.
2) Any files that end with .xml, .itl, or itdb. Please note that I had upgraded iTunes many times over the years and had several obsolete versions of those files in my iTunes folder. By moving them out and forcing iTunes to create new ones (see steps 3 & 4 above), I was able to determine which ones iTunes actually needed. Those were the files that I copied back into the iTunes folder, overlaying the new empty files.
3) Always make backups before you try tricks like this. I would recommend backing up your entire iTunes folder. I did not experience any data loss. Those files seem to contain your iTunes library information but not the actual music, movies, etc. When I started iTunes in step 3 (see above), iTunes showed an empty library. After performing step 4 (see above), I started iTunes again and it showed all my music, movies, etc. So I assume that the actual media files are stored elsewhere. Again, always make backups before trying something like this. I use Time Machine.

PLEASE HELP, iPhone bricked, but not in the 'usual' ways

I have a horrible problem with my iPhone, which usually I have been able to fix most iPhone problems. I've seen a lot of issues as I used to administer a 200 strong iPhone4 fleet, but this has me stumped!
I have an iPhone4 GSM. Up until yesterday it was running iOS 5.1.1, and wanted to upgrade to iOS 6, not jailbroken.
I upgraded iTunes to the latest 10.7.0.21 (x64) and did a full backup/transfer purchases.
Then I hit restore and it upgraded to iOS6.
Then I restored from my backup. At this point everything was working perfectly. I have completed the iOS6 welcome wizard thing and was using my iPhone, iOS6 was working.
Next i synched my apps, music, etc back to my phone. AGAIN everything was working, my apps were back, everything was great!
I decided to do what I usually do last, and that is 'restore from backup' the phone again from the same back to restore icon layouts etc. (I nice little trick I always use).
This is where my problem is. Now my battery was at about 89% (it was without a doubt between 85-90%.)
I watched the restore start, I went and got some coffee and came back a few minutes later. iTunes seemed like it had completed the restore. But my phone was off, tried to wake it up with the home button, nothing. So I waited about a minute just incase it was busy doing something, but it wasn't.
After a minute I just tried to power it on normally just with the sleep button, held it for just 2 seconds or so and the silver apple logo came on.. for about 7 seconds.. then turned off again, nothing.
Tried it again and the same thing happened.
After the second appearance of the silver apple logo, I have been unable to get ANYTHING to happen again (no Silver apple logo, nothing)
I then tried to reset with holding home and sleep together (I waited 60 seconds, nothing).
Tried putting it into DFU mode, nothing.
Tried putting it into recovery mode (both ways), nothing.
I thought it was a power issue, seen that before so I left it on charge overnight on my wall charger, with no change this morning.
Please help, I don't know what to do!! Has anyone got any suggestions.

Try this. First, remove battery and hold the power button down for about 10 seconds, then replace the battery and hold down command-option-p-r while hitting the power button. Hold those keys until you hear the start up chime three times, then release the keys. Any better?

Someone please help--iphone not recognized by computer

i've read and searched everywhere for what to do.
when i connect my iphone to the computer, the computer says the device is not recognized. ive reset my iphone, the computer uninstalled then reinstalled itunes, did all the stuff to find it under device manager and it still comes up unknown device. ive tried other computers and cords as well. ive done everything everyone else has been told to do. someone please help me out!

Please help iPhone 4S won't turn on!

Okay so this all happened months ago when ios7 came out. I tried to update my iPhone 4S software straight off of my phone in the settings to ios7 and it wouldn't work. So than I hooked my iphone up to my computer and went on iTunes and tried to update from there manually. Everything was working it said like 95% done updating but than it said this operation can't be done. Now, my iphone won't turn on, it goes to the connect to iTunes screen, but i don't know what to do I tried to connect it to iTunes and it didn't turn on. Please help I need this iphone to turn on!

Assuming your phone was never jailbroken, try the following:
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer if it isn't there already from apple.com/itunes
Reboot your computer
Connect the phone to a USB 2 port directly on your computer, not to a USB hub. If it is a desktop or tower computer use a port on the back, not on the front
Disable your antivirus and firewall
Launch iTunes
Connect the USB cable to the computer, but not to the phone
On the phone hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons for EXACTLY 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP button but continue holding the HOME button - if an Apple logo appeared you held too long; the screen should be black when you release the SLEEP button.
While still holding the HOME button connect the end of the USB cable to the phone
Wait until iTunes acknowledges the phone, then release the HOME button.
The phone should now restore. If it doesn't note the error number and post back.

Just brought an iPhone 3g. gone onto itunes to update the firmware...downloaded successfully and when i went to install, it started then came up with an error saying it couldnt update.
I then turned the phone off and on and now it just has the connect to itunes logo come up.
I plug it into the comp, and it doesnt acknowledge the phone has been pluuged in.
Turnd the comp off and on and still nothing. Just the connect to itune logo!

Reboot. I think your USB driver crashed.
If that does not help, uninstall (via control panel) ALL apple software, reboot (again) and then reinstall it all again.

Hi i have had my iphone 4 for 18 months i have plugged it into charge and left it as i usually do, there was a huge bang and a flash and the plug and phone flew across the room. th eplug had snapped in half and was black.
my phone is not responding to anything it just keeps on vibrating and is that hot i can not touch it. im with vodafone i rang them and they said try and put it outside to cool it down and switch it off.
funny answer considering i told him it had just blown up! im really worried and dont know what else to do or who to contact. can anyone help me? and will my phone be insured as i dont have insurance on my phone at all they wanted an extra £20.00 a months for insurance! i could buy a new phone for that!

As I see it, you have two options...
Buy a new phone.
Take your iP4 to Apple and see what they say but don't expect anything since it's out of warranty.

iPhone 5 sound problem: my iPhone 5 noise is only coming out thru the ear speaker and will not come out of any of the other speakers on my phone i say again it will ONLY come out my ear speaker it does it in games and in videos in music in everything! fdisk formated and reinstaled windows 3 times. fresh install each time i installed a sound card. so I dont think lingering drivers is the problem which also means dx9 has been installed fresh each time.also I have been dealing with this for nearly a month and I am at a loss.

I am unable to IM two people on my buddylist. When they IM me it says I have an IM but nothing pops up. When I click the window tab- it shows a few screen names. Now when I got to click those certain screen names on my buddy list to have a conversation- nothing pops up. These people are not blocked, although I have tried blocking and unblocking them to see if it had any affect. The only way I can communicate is by inviting them into a chatroom. Also files can't be sent between me and these people.
I've already uninstalled and reinstalled iChat.

If your phone is blocked, then you can't update it.
If thats what your trying to say
But.... You can book a genius bar appointment at the Apple Store to try and fix this

PLEASE HELP: iPhone 4 goes into phase of inconsistent service

Every once in a while, my iPhone screen will turn black...hen I have to reset the power, and when I turn it on I am stuck with these symptoms:
Every minute or so, my IPhone 4 loses service.
It goes from Full service > Searching > No Service > Full service (This process repeats)
I cannot make calls and can only send text messages during the phases of service.
Attempted Solutions:
I realized that when I restore the phone to factory settings, the problem temporarily goes away but returns a few days or couple weeks later.
Does anyone have this problem or know what might be the cause? Is it the phone itself? This phone was my mother's old phone, but I swapped phones with her at an AT&T store, inserting my SIM into the iPhone. Could it be the sim?

PLEASE HELP- iPhone 4 Activation

I am really at a loss here. I am trying to activate my iPhone 4. I got it in the mail today & it has the right mobile # on the receipt & everything. I log into my Apple account & terms and conditions comes up. I hit "I Accept" & enter my iPhone information to register it. Then the "waiting on Activation" icon goes off on my iPhone & I assume its activated. I go to try and set up my VM (I'm a new customer) & it says my mobile number is invalid. When I look in the phone settings it says my mobile number is 0000000" and some other numbers. I have restored the iPhone, and tried to hook it back up to iTunes, but nothing happens. Please help!!!!

Call into VZW to get them to further assist you with activation (I can't recall the exact fix or if your issue is the same but when my cousin had an activation issue she was able to get help over the phone). Also, you might want to try dialing *228 and choosing option 1 to see if that helps. Try that first (if it will allow you to) and if it doesn't work call VZW (or visit VZW).
