How IDoc works in SAP

I'm new to this IDoc functionality. I don't know how I can link the PP/QM data from the external system, HIFLEX, to SAP. And also SAP to HIFLEX Any idea that you can give me on how iDoc works in SAP? Can you explain step by step process and where to configure IDoc?

Processing in the EDI Subsystem Layer
Outbound
Once the control of the IDoc process is transferred to the subsystem layer. The subsystem takes the
IDoc file as input and translates it into an EDI standard format. At various milestones, the subsystem reports
the status of the process to SAP, thus providing complete visibility into the process from within SAP. The
status reported by the subsystem is attached as a status record to the IDoc in the SAP database.
To report status back to the SAP system, the subsystem creates a status file at the OS level and calls the
function module EDI_STATUS_INCOMING in SAP, passing the status file name as an input parameter. For
this, SAP provides a standard program named startrfc at the OS level to execute any RFCu2212enabled function
module in SAP.

It should work fine for iPhone/iPad because we can enable "Restrictions" to prevent the user from signing out of iCloud. Do we have simialr settings for the macbook?

If it's not on the device list, it indicates that someone has gone to Find My iPhone on icloud.com and manually deleted it from the device list (as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0eeddd), and it has not gone back online since (which would cause it to reappear on the device list; Find My iPhone has been turned of in settings on the device; the iClolud account has been deleted from the device; or the entire devices has been erased and restored.
Unfortunately, there's no other way to track the phone other than through Find My iPhone. You could call your carrier and see if they would blackliste it so at least the theif couldn't use it.

Hi Rani,
answering your question in short: yes and no.
A bit longer: yes, if you have authorization to the NWDS download page, then you can download it, and work with it locally, but without a SAP J2EE Engine you cannot test your application in runtime, as you cannot deploy it anywhere.
As an alternative, you can also create a Developer Workplace installation, which includes an NWDS and a local J2EE Engine you can use to do local tests. Both will be installed on your client side machine. This kind of engine intallation is not meant to be serve a complete server, but meant to be only for testing your local developments on client side.

Single Sign On is optional.
What would happen is that the user that's using the Web Application Designer will have to have access to Portals, and the portal Sign On screen will appear once that user executes a Web Template.
It also depends on the Portal Strategy and the Security Strategy of your client. For example, the portal may only grant access to those used IDs in the Active Directory, so if your BEx WAD user is not defined in Active Directory that user will not have access to portals, and will not be able to execute the Web Template.

SAP Net Weaver Version 7.0 Installation

Hello Experts,
Iu2019m totally new in SAP products and I would like to ask about the installation steps as the following:
1-Iu2019m planning to install the following SAP products in one server (16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Win 2003):
A-Oracle Database Version 10.2
B-SAP Solution Manager Version 7.1
C-SAP Net Weaver Version 7.0
D-SAP ERP-EHP5
E-SAP Base Line
F-SAP CRM
G-SAP SRM
So, is that the right order for the installation, can I install all this products in one server as a demo server?
2-I start the installation steps and I have finished the Database setup (10.2 then patch 10.2.0.4) then installed SAP Solution Manager Version 7.1 and I select Central System Installation Type, and the installation is Finished Successfully, but after the installation I did not find any new programs under windows start menu or all programs, I just found SAP Management Console, so is that the right behavior for this type of installation or I miss something?
3-I follow up all the steps that found in Solution Manager Master Guide until post installation tasks, the first step is to logon the application server, but I did not found it in the all programs menu is that the right behavior?

Reg:SAP Net weaver CE 7.2 ,AS Java is not starting

Hi,
i am new to SAP Net-weaver CE 7.2 ,i have installed SAP NW CE 7.2 Trial version on my system.But when i start the SAP MMC
AS Java proess is not starting.
In the developer trace file it is mentioned that Connection to message server failed.i think the problem is with default communication ports used by the SAP.
Can any one suggest me how to change these default ports to some other ports ?

Mean your application is not able to connect to IP 172.25.0.127 on port 3201.
what is your server IP? can you please do below test from command prompt
telnet 172.25.0.127 3201
also send log from dev_icm

Session Sharing is an additional feature provided by Tomcat , Weblogic and Web sphere application servers.
Is this feature available in SAP Net Weaver application server?
Brief description on Session Sharing
Session Sharing specifies whether HTTP sessions are shared across multiple Web applications.
In Weblogic this is an optional feature customizable in weblolgic-application.xml

Hi,
You cannot set up Garbage collection frequency. it is internally handled by Java when the Heap size is filled up.
You can always fine tune your server to SAP recommendations.
Note 723909 is a good starting point.
Also other checks include that you use SAP recommended Java versions, OS patches and also that you have enough physical memory.

An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR1 including Enhancement Package 1 > SAP Application Server ABAP > MaxDB > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Program 'Migration Monitor' exits with error code 103. For details see log file(s) import_monitor.java.log, import_monitor.log.). You can now:
Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
Choose View Log to get more information about the error.
Stop the option and continue with it later.
Log files are written to C:\Archivos de programa/sapinst_instdir/NW701/AS-ABAP/ADA/CENTRAL/.

If you want to connect to a SAP back end create a JCo using the NWA. Usage: http://<host>:<port>/nwa
Once this is done you can import RFC and start accessing bacckend.
If you need to deploy this application to a SAP J2ee engine, you need to connect to the engine using
Window->Preferences->SAP AS Java
Specify the instance host and instance number
Click on the register SAP instance button.
Make this as your default SAP System.

Sap net Weaver Sneak preview edition installation Fails.

Hi all,
I couldn't finish the installation for SAP NetWeaver sneak preview installation.
Installation failed in the IMPORT ABAP step.
I have many Import package Errors .
All the packages (18) SAPSSEXC, SAPAPPL1, SAPAPPL0, SAPSDIC... end up with errors.
I have no idea Why.
Log file is of no help to me.
I have tried it several times already .
But I am still stopped with the same error.

OS is Windows XP SP1 .

Hi All,
We had the same problem when we installed Solution Manager 7.0, Oracle 10.2 and j2sdk 1.4.2_12.
The problem was oracle was not running. We have to run oracle manually in command prompt.
This is how when we resolved and worked fine. Follow these steps in command prompt.
1. Check R3trans -d; If R3 finished with error(0012) follow the below steps.
1.1 Check services.msc whether oracle listeners are started or not; if not please start.
2. Go to oracle drive.
Use the following commands:
3. sqlplus /nolog
4. connect /as sysdba
5. If result displays:
"SQL> connect /as sysdba
Connected to an idle instance.
6. Use this command next: archive log list (i.e, SQL> archive log list)
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available" - If this is the result, then startup the oracle.
7. Use this command next: startup (i.e, SQL> startup)
Then result should say: "ORACLE instance started."
That means oracle instance is started successfully.
Now, Retry the step where you left. It will work fine.
Please let us know if you need any further details need.
I know this thread was initiated long time back; but i want to share our experience with you. It may be helpful to someone later who encounters these kind of issues.
