My firefox keeps crashing every 5 - 10 minutes. Sometimes I get a windows error message saying "firefox plugin container stopped working", but most times I don't. These are the actions I've taken so far, with no effect:
1. Updated all my plug-ins
2. Run firefox in safe mode with plug-ins disabled
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled firefox
4. Run an AVG scan which turned up nothing

Is your new tab page set to about:blank? You can change this from the about:config page or you can restore defaults by resetting Firefox.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Thanks for helping me.   Here is my workflow:
I store any file that I save onto my external drives so that I don't fill up my main hard drive.....( I label each external hard drive by year + alpha, such as 14a, 14b etc.) Is that a problem?   Any suggestions?
I know iMovie works from the main iMac HD and therefore needs to find the file that I want in the external drive, such as when I "import" a file from an external such as 14a into iMovie that has been previously downloaded onto the external 14a (I download all SD cards & tapes to externals)......and it sounds like you're saying that is causing iMovie problems because the file is not so easily accessible for iMovie?
I assume that iMovie processes the file that I have "imported" into an "iMovie Event" on my iMac HD. I label that version as say "NLGE 3000E" for my 3000th movie, Event version, "events" that is always rough.
After I have imported media as an event and have labeled an event, "NLGE 3000E," then I go to "new movie" that I assume is a "project".....and I label that version "NLGE 3000P1"...."P" for "project" and "1" for the first edition....also to help me keep track of where my movies go.   I focus on "Projects" then when editing ...and watch which edition I am editing and which edition appears where.
I learned that I need to "share" all movies from "Projects" to save......and store my final versions on my external drive, 14a (eg) so that I am sure that I have a retrievable copy.   I try to share to YouTube from iMovie and succeeded 1/10 tries.
Evidently a movie is not saved unless it is in "theater"?

After putting in my log in information it goes straight back to the home page of youtube. I know my log in works because when going to google my email address appears on the home page as if I am logged into youtube. Trying to set up Time Capsule to MacBook Air but it only recognises the ethernet LAN connection and not the WAN Any ideas?

If I put the ethernet cable in the WAN port of the capsule my book doesn't pick it up but when I put it in the LAN one it does. Then it tells me it needs the WAN connection I tried rebooting in various ways including modem but I can't get past 2 problems i.e. Problem1 - Double NAT so I click the Bridge Mode and then it asks me to place the cable in the WAN port. As soon as I do it loses it. The light is flashing amber so its clearly a connection problem. Any ideas anyone?

The WAN port is for the ethernet cable that is coming straight from your modem/router.
Plug your computer into any of the Lan ports.
Once you're configured (and in bridge mode) it won't matter after that, but leave those details for later.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4 every time I open or refresh a page everything freezes and I have to wait a minute or so for it to respond again. I'm also having problems with uploading to Photobucket and watching things via Youtube since the upgrade.

Since upgrading to Firefox 4.0 a couple of days ago, every time I open or reload a page the whole browser freezes. At first I thought it might be down to compatibilty issues with other programmes open at the time, but as the problem has persisted when those programmes aren't open I'm starting to think it's the browser itself and it's getting extremely frustrating having everything freeze every time I want to change a page.
My other problem is twofold: with Youtube nothing plays at all because the toolbar with the play/pause option simply isn't there and I am unable to access the upload function on Photobucket because likewise it won't appear. I have tried everything I can think of. I started in safe mode, still did it., I removed add-ons, still did it., I reset Firefox and still did it., I completely uninstalled Firefox and re-installed Firefox and it still does it. I have tried Malware Bytes Anti-Malware scans and Avast boot-time scans and found no malware or viruses. I have found that those websites open the first time with no problems on my IE9 and they used to do so in Firefox 26.0. I'm at my wit's end. The website links are in my bookmarks and are used all the time so they are trusted and my avast is set to allow them. They range from news websites to gun websites and everything I have read says that Mozilla does not filter those unless something has changed recently.

The countdown timers at File Storage Locker sites (fileserve, bitshare, freakshare, etc) will no longer countdown if not the active page (Since upgrading to firefox 5.0). How do make it countdown when not the active page?

Since upgrading to firefox 5.0, countdown timers at the various file locker sites will no longer countdown when the page is not the active page. I am sure it is not a site-side change as ALL the sites countdown timers freeze when not the active page. This has only happened since the upgrade.

Not all sites are affected as sites like Megaupload, Filesonic, depositfiles, Rapidshare work fine.
