The model number indicates that it was bought in Saudi Arabia or the UAE, in which case you won't have FaceTime due to restrictions by those countries regimes.

I was quite surprised by that. And I've been off for a little because I've been giving final exams at the college where I work. Now with break I will be spending a little more time on here until I have to start getting ready for the Spring semester. I have experienced a couple of interesting posters in the past week though. Huge thanks for your response Michel. I apologise for the delay in getting back to you. I have done as you suggested, the details are pasted below. Clearly there are some applications I need to remove and no doubt my HD could do with a 'spring clean'. My Mac 'Safe Booted' when I turned it on this morning.
I use many different softwares, some web-based. The decision to upgrade to OSX Yosemite is because I was unable to attend a Webinar this week using GoToMeeting downloadable software. GoToMeeting have upgraded their system and my OS is no longer supported. Other websites like VImeo no longer support my version of Safari. I tend to use Chrome if Safari isn't compatible.

What are the key components to be mointored after support pack installation

I m an PI developer ,last Friday Basis installed the service pack 15 in Quality box . They are asking me to mointor the QPI to make sure everything is running fine and let them know so they can install the service pack in Production box.
Apart from normal monitoring of the system ( RWB and SXMB* ), what are the other components i need to monitor.
Can you tell me what to be monitored after Support pack installation.

What are the iphoto files I need to restore iphoto library deleted from drive

A few days ago my hard drive started making noises and I was getting all sorts of errors. I even got errors trying to do a time machine backup with the final error being "backup failed".
Earlier last week I imported a couple hundred photos of my kids from Christmas to present which also included our vacation last month. I deleted the photos from my camera after the import. Then foolishly, I didn't think to do any time machine backups between then and the time my hard drive started making noise.
I bought a new SSD drive. I could still access the bad drive so I moved my pictures directory from the bad drive to the new drive. It took nearly two hours. It appeared to have moved everything, but it did not move the iphoto library. The pictures directory is gone from the old hard drive.
I purchased FileSalvage and recoved thousands of deleted jpg files from my old drive, but none appear to be the pictures I lost.
It appears that FileSalvage will recover specific file types. There doesn't seem to be a way to just tell it to recover the deleted "pictures" directory or recover "iphoto library".
If I was able to specify specific file names to restore, what files would I even need to specify? I have iphoto 11.
I came across an article about iphoto library files from iphoto 6 and previous versions which explained the following iphoto files: library.iphoto6, albumdata.xml, Thumb32Segment.data, Thumb64Segment.data, ThumbJPGSegment.data, etcxxxxx.

Does iphoto 11 use similar file names? I'm not concerned with keeping my iphoto database in tact. I just want my pictures.
Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Any advice on how to get my pictures back would be greatly appreciated.

Simply, you can't recover the iPhoto Library. What you need to do is try recover the Photos that were in it. These will be saved as jpeg files* and that's what you need to search for. Recovering all the other files will do no good. You won't be alble to reconstruct the Library. Your aim is to get the Photos and then start over.
The search may find many files of the same name, try to recover the largest files - they are most likely to be your originals.

*Assuming you're not shooting Raw. If you are shooting Raw then you'll know the suffix for your camera. If none of that makes sense then you're not shooting Raw

HT5219 Thunderbolt port devices and ethernet cables doesn't work under Windows 7 or 8 via Boot Camp unless I restart my computer... how are the apple developers so dump to not realize this mistake

How can you not resolve a problem so essentail related to swapping thunderbolt devices when running bootcamp? Everytime I diconnect a thunderbolt device, I have to restart in bootcamp for the mackbook pro to recognize it. Considering that I apid ~$3K for this laptop when I could have got a dell for half the price, it such a poor technology. I don't have a Thunderbolt machine but according to this article, Windows doesn't support Thunderbolt at all. That means Apple had to add Thunderbolt support in order for it to work even as it does. How would a Dell have solved your problem?

You cannot.
You cannot use another countrys itunes store.
You must be physically locates inside the borders of a country to use that countrys itunes store and a credit card issued in that country with a valid billing address in that country.
The owners of the distribution rights of movies/music/etc differ by country. These distributors decide who can sell their content in that country.
Buy from another source if your countrys itunes store does not carry somehting that you want.
