Hi Team,
Facebook Chat is not available in Firefox Beta version however it is working fine in Internet explorer. I request u to please look into the issue and let us know whether this is related to Facebook or Mozilla, the chat option is working fine on Internet explorer.Since Mozilla is much better than IE , I request you to look into this so that I can continue using Mozilla. You should try clearing the cache-
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
Also try removing unwanted cookies-
Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Did you try running it on [[Safe mode]] to see which plugin/addon etc might be causing that?

Firefox 3.5: facebook chat does not work

After an update to firefox 3.5 the facebook chat does not work anymore. It says I should update to the current firefox version. With the mozilla binary everything works fine.
Someone with the same problem?

A more versatile solution (imho) than delving into about:config is to install the User Agent Switcher plugin found here
install that, restart, and then go to the User Agent Switcher icon, Choose "Edit User Agents..."
Click "Add" > "New User Agent" and it should give you the firefox agent by default. change it to:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090703 Firefox/3.5
(all i did was change Shiretoko to Firefox)
Name and save the agent, and then select it from the drop down and refresh facebook. works like a charm!
for extra credit, go to the User Agent Switcher icon, Choose "Edit User Agents..." and import this list:

Now you can spoof a bunch of browsers!

Gmail drop-down menus (Move to, Labels) and emails and Facebook chat will not open.

I am unable to open emails in standard Gmail. Emails can be opened after switching to the basic html version. I am also unable to use the drop-down menus, such as "Move to" or "Labels." The button turns gray, but the options do not appear.
Facebook chat is giving me a similar problem. When I click "Chat" in the bottom left, it acts as though it's trying to load but does not open up to reveal friends.
I have tried the following: deleting cookies, reinstalling Java, updating my vid card drivers, and uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox
Scans for viruses and spyware have yielded no results. I use AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes. The Gmail emails and menus will open in IE8.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

my facebook chat does not work on my ipad2 but it works when my friend signs in from her account on my ipad therefore it must be my facebook settings. can any1 tell me what my settings r ment to be so i can use chat on my ipad2. It also doesnt let me chat on any of the apps for facebook chat?

If the power button isn't working, you should make an appointment at an Apple Store or an authorized service center and have the device evaluated for a hardware problem. If the switch is faulty, there is nothing anyone here can do for you.
The only things that I can suggest that might have a chance of working would be to try a reset, even though you need to use the power/sleep button for this to work....or restore the iOS software.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Facebook chat not available -- Yahoo redirect to password sign-in page

Facebook chat is "unavailable" -- getting a triangle with an exclamation point. In my Yahoo e-mail account I can do nothing but view my e-mails. Any attempt to open an attachment (a pic sent from my phone), clicking on "mail options," sending a help request e-mail to Yahoo, writing an e-mail -- basically anything I do -- sends me to the password sign-in page. Could not log into another e-mail account at Road Runner. Page just flipped crazily back & forth between loading & "read message." However, none of this happens if I use Internet Explorer; everything works fine there. Problem started two days ago. I do not believe I did anything, downloaded anything, nor changed anything right before this happened. Been told by internet carrier to un-install Firefox and re-install. Not opposed to doing this, but will that solve the problem? I sure don't want it to happen again. I have a main password for Firefox and a few other passwords saved. Laptop, running Windows Vista. Anti-virus program is AVG (full paid version). Have disabled some AVG items (tool bar, link-something-or-other) per help suggestions on Firefox site, and this has worked fine for nearly 2 months.

Facebook Chat Not Working Properly For iPhone 4

I recently bought the iPhone for, and am having a pretty annoying problem with the Facebook App.
So, in my Facebook, I have a group for my friends (one group). Now, when I'm on chat for my iPhone, I can not see ANY of those friends in the group online.
I read around a bit, and was advised to try unticking the group, so all my friends were shown in one list.
Did that, but still no luck..can't see people from that original group online.
Any advice?

I've now gone as far as DELETING the list. So now, while on the computer, and under Facebook chat, ALL my friends appear under the same list.

No Chat support? Waiting for death on facebook chat(messaging)/posts? Need device troubleshooting support, not just happening today! I want to talk to corporate!

I have been waiting for a device support person for over an hour now with no availability. I have waited for a shopping tips rep for over half an hour to get around my device issue. I contacted Andrea on facebook and have waited 20+ minutes each time for a reply multiple days. She also asked for the last 4 of my social on facebook chat which is not reasonable at all, she does not need to be in my account to assist me. I have posted on facebook a post and got a reply in a few minutes then have been waiting for 20 minutes and still no reply form Sandy. I want to talk to Corporate, with no run around of someone faking they are from corporate. This is ridiculous! Proof device support is not up! Get your crap together! I want immediate contact from Verizon Corporate with no excuses and an explanation!

This is how I make chat work: Go to the Verizon homepage, make sure I am LOGGED OUT. Then go to the Contact Us page. Scroll to Live Chat, choose issue and LOG IN there.

hi, facebook chat is integrated with my messaging, i have checked everything to make sure i am logged in correctly, however even though i know friends are online, its says no one is online. this started about a day ago.

Posting the same thing in 2 threads an hour apart will not get an answer any quicker.
Even though people are online it doesn't mean that they will be shown as online. Everyone has individual privacy settings. There are different settings for 3rd party devices which is what wp7 comes under. Just because they appear online in the Facebook page doesn't mean it will be the same on wp7 messaging.
You could ask them to adjust their privacy settings if it bothers you that much.

Regarding your concern, are you encountering any error on your phone? Is this the first time that you have this issue with your Facebook account? Have you tried to check if the Facebook chat setting is enabled under the message thread setting? If yes, have you tried checking the connection on your phone? Were you able to access the web on the phone?

SBA-Mac, you gotta be joking with that reply. In case you are living on another planet, Facebook is a social media tool through which people communicate through wall posts, simple chat and private messages. It has nothing to do with video chat, and you don't need any kind of camera. It works just fine on iPod touch.
For the person who started this thread, you can update your Facebook app by launching App store on your iPod touch, and you will be prompted to update any apps that need to be updated, or open iTunes on your computer, log in with your credentials and click app updates if there are any. Sync your iPod after it's done.
