Hi there, how do I re-download purchased songs in iTunes?

Hi there,
How do I re-download purchased songs in iTunes?  I have recently copied a large number of songs in to my iTunes folder and my purhcased songs have disappeared in the process. I am trying to play them but it is just asking me to locate them.  They can no longer be found on the machine but are purchases form the apple store.
Thanks
Tama

    Linda,
Apple formerly ran a program that allowed you to replace DRM songs with non-DRM versions for 30 cents apiece.  That program was discontinued by Apple last year.
You can still upgrade now, but it requires subscribing to iTunes Match and following the instructions by which to delete your DRM copy and download the non-DRM (iTunes Plus) matched copy.  See the section "Can I upgrade my previously purchased music to iTunes Plus?" in this guide: iTunes Store: iTunes Plus Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How to download purchased songs to Itunes?

I have bought songs on my now broken iPhone 3g and havent synced them to my computer. Is there a way I can download all the purchased songs onto iTunes on my computer without going through and re-bying every one? I know I could get them for free but I cant remember every song.

Restore them from your backup, or use these instructions to redownload them through the iCloud.

How do I re-download purchase ringtone from iTunes

This is probably not going to be good news but here are a few things before the final point:
    1. If you have the ringtone in iTunes, you can simply transfer to iPhone (If you have backed up your iPhone 5s, it will be available in iTunes)
    2. Click on iTunes store on the left, then in the right hand side, under "Quick Links", select "Purchased". See if you can locate your ringtone
    3. Most Likely (This is the bad news) -> If you didn't backup your purchase, then it's most likely gone.
    Note:
"Ringtones cannot be re-download for free.
Your need to transfer ringtone purchases to your iTunes Library for safe keeping."
"For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases."

  • Downloading purchased songs from itunes

    Hello,
I have recently purchased about 35 songs from itunes. This was my first time doing this. I have been charged for all 35 songs, however only 15 of them have actually downloaded. I emailed itunes for help and they said they cannot deal with technical support and I am getting very frusterated. I found a thread somewhere that said to go to the advanced menu and click check purchases. I have done this over and over, and when I do it the other 20 songs I have purchased come up but then disappear and fail to download. A pop up then comes up that reads
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to. Use the Check for Purchases command under the Advanced menu to try again later."
Well this is exactly what I have been doing, and I have tried it over and over for 3 days now. I have tried turning off my firewall and that didnt do anything either. I don't think it has anything to do with firewalls or priveledges though since about half of them downloaded immediatly.
If anyone has had this happen to them before and knows how to fix it that would be greatly appreciated. I wont be happy if I just lost my money.. even if its only $15.00
    Thanks in advance
    -Kyra

    Is your hard drive full?
    Quit iTunes.
Look in the iTunes music folder for a folder named Downloads.
    Delete the Downloads folder.
Restart iTunes then Check for purchases again.

  • HT1688 how do i get a purchased song from itunes to be my ringtone

Please help me. I do not know how to take a purchased song and download it so it becomes my ringtone?? any help

There are a number of free utilities and options for creating ringtones for music that does not include DRM protection.
If the song you downloaded from the iTunes store includes DRM protection - not an iTunes Plus song, you must purchase the ringtone separate if a ringtone is available for purchase with a segment of the song.

  • How do I get a purchased song from iTunes to update a play count on my iMac when the song is played from my iPhone or macbook??

I am big on my playcounts.  I would like to just be able to store desired music in icloud and have it available on any device.  BUT, is there a way for my playcounts to update on my imac (my main computer with all my music stored) when I play a purchased song from icloud on my iphone or macbook?
    Thanks

You can't outright. You can extract a fragment of it and massage it into ringtone format for the phone to use. Search for the topic, the procedure has been posted in various occasions.

  • Can't download purchased songs from itunes store.

I recently had my laptop and itouch stolen. I now have a new laptop and itouch and would like to download the already purchased songs from the itunes store onto my new laptop. The itunes store has the songs in my purchase history but I can't find the option to download them again. I tried buying a song again to see if it would state that I had already purchased the song and that I could download it for free. But it only asked me if I would "like to buy it again". Surely their must be a way to download the songs again onto my new laptop. Any help would be great.

Was your backup copy stolen as well?
If so, you can try e-mailing itunes support to see if they will make an exception, although they are under no obligation to do so.

  • Can't download purchased song from iTunes

I tried to play a song on iTunes, but it says I have to locate it.  I accidentally deleted it and emptied the trash (i know, genius), and when I try to download it again from the store, it wont let me.  Instead of a "download" button it's a "play" button.

The song shows up in my itunes library as if it's already downloaded.  When i show the songs on the cloud, all that shows up is the U2 album.

  • How to re download purchased songs in itunes

Just wondering how to re download soungs I buy off itunes?
I bought an album and 1 song didn't work and stops about 2 seconds in so I would like to redownload that one again
    Cheers.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • HT201272 How can I re-download purchased tones in itunes?

I've been having some issues with my phone so as suggested elsewhere I did a complete reset without restoring from a backup, just setup as a new phone.  The other issue are resolved, but now I can't seem to get any of the previously purchased Tones back on the phone.  When I select to purchase the Tone again it does recognize that I've already purchased it and asks if I want to buy it again, I selct No of course.  In iTunes they don't show up under my purchased items.
Any suggestions?  I'm on iOS 6.1.2 & latest iTunes.

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store. If you haven't got them on your computer nor on a backup of your purchases then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I purchased an entire album and is in my music library but I can't uderstand why the step to upload the songs into iCloud is not available to me. When I "Get Info" on the songs, it shows that they are on my HD, whereas the rest of the library is in iCloud.

    It does now.
