Hi there, I cannot display photos which extension is .PMS

Hi there,
I did recently transfer some pictures from a external hard-drive into my mac, however those pictures appear like this; MG_0586.JPG.PMS
when I try to import those pictures into Iphoto , this says the following error UNREADABLE FILE; THE FOLLOWING FILE COULD NOBE IMORTED (the file is an unrecognised format.)
would someone tell me what kind of software I would need in order to display it?

A quick Google search turns up some hits on encrypted files from Photshop and others.
Are you're files encrypted...

yes, everything else seems to work except bluetooth. it just keeps searching all the time and none of my devices see the phone including macbook, iMac or speakers. I've reinstalled the system and reset it as well, Ive also followed one advice that's on one of the forums where it was suggested to switch the flight mode on, reset the phone and switch the flight mode off. No results.
Do you have any other ideas?

Cannot sync photos which are external to iPhoto Library to iPhone

I'm having a problem syncing photos to my iPhone. Everything was fine until yesterday, now some photos will not sync - I get the "Some of your photos .... were not copied because they cannot be displayed" error.
Some of my photos have the originals in iPhoto, some are links to external (in the 'username/Pictures' folder). It seems that only those photos where there is a full-size copy (i.e. the original, or a modified version) in the iPhoto library are copied. The others all fail, even though I can see them full-size in iPhoto. Nothing has changed on my computer.
Any suggestions anybody?
Using Leopard 10.5.6, iTunes 8.1.1, iPhoto 08 7.1.5, iPhone OS 2.2.1 (I get the same problem with my iPod video)

Photos taken before I switched to Mac in 2007 were in a folder structure, I imported that without realising they were being linked to. Photos taken since have been directly imported. I've made lots of modifications, built albums, calendars, etc, so I don't want to have to start over again.
The point being this wasn't a problem until yesterday.

Hi Ismail,
Tables AGR_HIER and AGR_HEIRT, these two tables have the text of the RRMX queries.
Table AGR_BUFFI.. this helps you map role to technical name of query.... although its a bit mixed up in the field, its actually in URL field.
Also, You can check out the metadata repository in order to find out information such as query has been assigned to which particular role etc.

Best to keep the terms clear.
You export photos from iPhoto.
You move the iPhoto Library to an external disk.
They're are quite different processes. Exporting means at the end you have a file outside iPhoto. Moving means the files are still inside iPhoto.
So if you say:

That reads like I''ve selected all the photos in iPhoto and am exporting them to a folder on this external drive, and at the end I'll have a folder full of photos outside iPhoto. Is that what you mean?
Is it best to have a 'master' I photo library on an external drive for all the thousands of pics Im never really going to look at often - and a smaller one kept on the HD for day to day usage ...
Best? Hard to know. It might make sense on a portable. But if you're on an iMac why do you need a smaller one on the internal? Why not just have the whole library on the external? There is no performace hit.

iCloud storage has nothing to do with remaining memory on the phone - only memory for backups and Photostream. The photo has to first be stored on the phone and copies sent to iCloud. If there is not enough available memory on the phone, the photo can't be taken.
To determine the remaining memory on the phone:
Settings > General > Usage > Storage
The Camera Roll is meant for temporary storage of photos, which should be imported to an app on your computer and deleted from Camera Roll. You can then sync back those photos which you want to keep on the phone.

The space you purchased is in iCloud. It is not on your phone, and there is no way you can use it directly on your phone. The phone comes with whatever memory you purchased it with (8, 16, 32 or 64 GB) and that number will never change. check the overall trash on the 'dock'.when files are deleted from programmes, they always go to the general 'Trash' as general files and you will need to delete form there as well. if there is still a lot of missing files taking up space try reloading or deleting 'Iphoto' and uploading again.

How can i remove my Photo Library ? i have two folders inside Photos which are Photo Library and Camera Roll, i can't remember how Photo Library got there but i wanna remove that folder and the photos inside + i really messed up

someone told me to try iFunbox and delete thumbs file from filesystem so i did and now i have the same pics but only thumbnails when i click on one of them its black screen.
mow after restarting my phone and syncing all photos and videos from camera roll are gone i think i messed up so bad and photo library folder looks so messy like a long black screen

You cannot remove photo library.
It will always be there. This is where all photos synced to iphone reside.
Have you tried a reset?
If that fails, then you will likely need to restore.

What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what devices are you haveing problems with? can you download teh photos to a desktop folder using image capture (in your applications folder) and import from there - or open with priview from there?
