My partner owns an iphone 3gs, and was working fine yesterday, but now it doesnt want to work, as it is stuck on the new software update. How do i get passed this? I have tried plugging it into my computer as it was saying, connect to itunes. Did not seem to work.

I have the iphone 3GS and recently downloaded the iOS 5.0.1 software. I can open my apps; however, after a few minutes (sometimes seconds) I am booted out of the app. Any ideas?

A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete. -
I updated my iPad OS this morning, and now I can no longer use iMessage to send pictures. When I try to get one from the camera roll, it blows up. Is this a known problem?

Connect to iTunes & hit the restore button on the Summary Pane. This will restore as a new device. Eject when finished.

Are yoy sure that Apeture is not in the Applications folder of the new system? If it is move it to the trash and the App Store will let you download Aperture from it.
You will need to make sure you use the same Apple ID you used to purchase it in the past.

Attempted to create a slideshow (version 9.3) and get the dreaded spinning ball that will not go away; iphoto locked up when open. how do I get rid of the ball. Have forced quit seveal times and opens with the spinning ball.
Make a temporary, backup copy if you don't have a backup copy of the library (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4
Launch iPhoto and try again.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

ios 8 and I had just enough space left to update it. After the update was verifying, it put me on the screen to connect my ipod to iTunes, and every time i try to reset the ipod, it wont let me out of the screen. I don't want to update to ios 8 anymore, because everytime I try to restore the iPod, an error occurs. I am basically being forced at this point to update it, is there any way back to normal ios 7? A magnifying glass and search box show up in my e-mails and I can't read them unless I hit reply or forward. how do I get rid of the magnifying glass and search box?
First, some clarification:
* The location bar (often called the "awesome bar") is the larger bar on the left that shows you the address of the page you are currently viewing. As you type in the location bar it searches your history and bookmarks for matches.
* The search bar is the smaller one on the right. It typically displays an icon of whichever search engine is currently selected and may display search suggestions as you type in it.
It sounds like you are referring to the search bar rather than the location bar. You can change search engines for the search bar by clicking on the icon on the left edge of the search bar and choosing a different one. You can also choose "Manage Search Engines" to remove ones you aren't interested in using.
It also sounds like Bearshare might have changed your homepage in Firefox. To restore that you will need to open the preferences menu (click Tools > Preferences), go to the General tab (first on the top left), and click "Restore to Default". -
I had a problem with my 4s battery so i took it to an apple store and they replaced the phone. However they had me backup my photos in icloud because i was goingto lose them otherwise. So now my question is how do i get my photos back?

When I checked my backed up file in Outlook Express, it was also wiped out during the synchronization. I tried to restore from backup on iTunes but still, the contact was not there anymore. I have contacted your HK Apple Hotline and talked to a technical support called TIMMY LO, he said there is nothing to do with them and he refused to provide any support to recover my contact, he even said I should try to pay extra money to 3rd party supplier and see what they can do to my iphone, despite the fact that this could be caused by the pre-mature release of 4.3.3 when a bug still hasn't been fixed. I am very disappointed at Apple's service, especially considering that I have been a loyal customer of iphone / ipod touch in the past few years. I need an official reply from Apple on this! How can Apple be so irresponsible to their own firmware failure??

On Word I was copying a sentence, but the command has not executed and the timing cursor has been circling for over 10 minutes. How do I get out of this?
You probably will need to force-quit Word. Go to the Apple menu, choose "Force Quit", locate and select Word in the list of applications and click the "Force Quit" button. You will of course most likely lose any changes you made to the document since you last saved it (or it was auto-saved, if you have that option turned on in Word).
