If your computer is not recognizing your iPhone then it seems like it doesn't have Apple Mobile Device Support (the program it uses to communicate with the phone).
I would recommend a complete a uninstall and reinstall of iTunes to get it back on your computer. You can get directions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.

You can do better than that. You can click on the Restore button that appears under your device in iTunes. This will restore your iPod to factory settings as if it were fresh out of the box. But don't worry. By doing a restore, you will then be given the option to "Restore from Backup." This will allow you to restore the state of your previous iPod!!

If you cannot powerup the phone, there would be no way to recover the photos from the device. Have you tried to just connect it to the computer? If the photos are that important, have you considered possibly a 3rd party repair to just fix the screen so you can access the device, or was there more broken than the screen?

Not en masse, but if you select each element that has an overlay applied, there is a reset button at the bottom of the Overlay Creator window.

By accident I found that a little app I use (ImageWell) to add connotations and text to my screenshots also strips most if not all the EXIF data from an image that you drag out of the Image well.
I just checked it out again. I dragged an image into the well, changed the name of the image and dragged it out. The EXIF data was gone when I opened it with Preview and did Tools/Get info.

There are many drawing canvases in the document, which were created by pressing 'edit' on embedded EMF files.
I would like to replace the embedded figures with object references, so I searched for a way to delete all the drawing canvases but couldn't find the result.
Is there a macro that will delete all the drawing canvases in the document? Or, is the drawing canvas defined as an object type at all?

HT1451 All of a sudden my entire music library (except for songs purchased) disappeared from my windows 8 computer. When I try to re-sync my Iphone or Ipad I get a message that by syncing I will remove all the songs (~1250) from my devices.

How the heck do I get my music back onto my windows 8 computer from my Ipad or Iphone. All of a sudden all my music (except for purchased songs from Apple) disappeared. When I try to sync I get a message that if I continue all the other songs (~1250) will be removed from my devices and I will be left with the ~50 purchased songs. There is no information on the help list on how to re-create the library using Windows 8.

How do I clear all the download Icons from my display?

My screen is so cluttered with download images, zip files which I unstuffed, etc.
I know this has probably been asked and answered somewhere, but I can't find it in my search in the forums.
Can I move them to trash or will that affect the download applications, etc?

shows you the different kinds of icons applications will give you. A dmg and an img file are the same icon for a virtual disk image file. When that file is double clicked, most application installers will be inside icons like this one:
If there is no installer program inside that icon, just drag the application to the Applications folder on your hard drive.
Once that is done, the above icon can be dragged to the trash to dismount the image file's virtual disk. When it is gone from your desktop, then the img or dmg file can be dragged to the trash. You can keep behind the img or dmg file and put it inside a folder inside your home folder which looks like this:
The home folder is inside your hard drive -> users folder
The desktop folder which includes everything on the desktop is inside the home folder.
I recommend creating your own folder with the File menu New submenu inside the Home folder to store backups of img and dmg and sit and zip files as well as any documents you want to keep.
When that is done, you can backup to other sources as my backup FAQ explains:

Once you are backed up.
A .dmg.gz and .dmg.zip file are zipped up image files which if double clicked will reveal the .dmg file.
A .sit file uses an old archive standard known as Stuffit, which can be expanded by http://www.allume.com/ 's Stuffit Expander.

Perhaps your earlier suggestion of locking it as an announcement-only board is one that we should consider.

What is your OS?Which user you are using for delete process, you have w/r permission for your delete process on files

Help: XMLTYPE need to remove all blankspaces "between nodes"

Hello,
In a table containing a XMLTYPE column, we've got indented XML.
For each row in this XMLTYPE column, we would need to remove all the numerous blankspaces located in between all ">" and "<"
Basically, we would like the XML to be without its indentation.
Is REGEXP_REPLACE the best way to do it ?
How can we do it ?
